It's a histoic chateau located on a well manicured property 10 km from Bayeaux in Normandy. The rooms are filled with collectables and the service is good. Innkeepers are helpful. Lack of heat in the room.and breakfast is pricey. |

Old world France. Family owned and operated, with amazing antiques and history in every room. Easy to get to and felt as if we were the only ones there. Also, close proximity to Omaha beach and the American WWII Memorial and Cemetary was great. Monsieur Vallee (the owner) recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner in the town of Bayeux. It was excellent. Downside was that we were almost afraid to touch things in the common areas of the Chateau for fear of breaking them! It had a bit of a museum feeling, which made it a bit uncomfortable in the common areas. However it was a truly beautiful old home and the owner and staff were pleasant and helpful. |

Beautiful house & surroundings. Very interesting history. Family artefacts in bedrooms & downstairs rooms. Dolls house collections landings. all fascinating. Will remember our short stay there. Language was a difficulty even though I speak enough French to get us by in most circumstances. I had imagined there would be a restaurant after a tiring day we had to drive into Bayeux for a meal.Communication breakdown over breakfast, didn't realise only option was in room & we didn't order night before. Some written info in room would have been useful. |

Wonderful ambiance and elegance. Helpful guy at reception Prices for extras were heavy. ie. 20 euros for two gin and tonics! Would have been nice to have an evening meal in hotel rather than directed to recommended restaurant in nearest town ( Bayeux ) |

liked that it was an unusual place to stay. Very attractive family home. In England this would be rated as a Bed and Breakfast guest house. In fact we were staying in a family home. Had to have breakfast in our room. Dining room and other rooms downstairs was for show purposes only. The bar was the mini bar in our room! |

It was a lot of fun to stay in the old Chateau. There are lots of wonderful thing to look at. We enjoyed staying here and had no trouble driving to it. |

The staff were very pleasant and gracious. The garden is attractive and the house interesting (but see below) The hotel is sorely in need of refurbishment. The knick-knacks and kitsch are everywhere - and really overdone. The beds need to be replaced, showers installed and some fo the furniture is stained and unappealing. It could be a most delightful place. |

We did not have a good experience; considered the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. Everything was on the low end of quality; quite shabby actuall y and we would never book this location again. |

A good price-quality combination. Very helpful and polite staff. Nice surroundings. Unfortunately it seemed that there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom |

This building in which is housed the hotel dates back to the 13th century and it is ideally situated, 3 km away from the beach, close to Bayeux. |
Set in a peaceful and verdant park, Le Chanteclair, a characterful 19th century house, welcomes you in a splendid countryside setting only 100 metres from the sea. |
Situated on a quiet street in the historic centre of Bayeux, opposite the Baron Gerard museum, the hotel is within a stone’s throw of the Cathedral and Bayeux Tapestry. |
Gaiety and elegance are the two words which automatically spring to mind to describe this magnificent 18th-century chateau, a listed building set amongst exquisite French gardens and parkland. |
