1.One of the owners was decidedly non-empathetic. 2. Poor attention to practical detail - loose coat hooks and towel rails in bathroom. 3. Breakfast over-priced

As it is a family home for the last 200 years or so, there are many collections from the family in display. It makes the stay interesting. It also has a large garden for those enjoying a walk in the nature. However, the weather in normandy can be rather unpredictable & may be wet. As the hotel is only surrounded by the smaller towns, it is more suitable for travellers with cars.

The hotel was very well situated for visits to the local attractions. The history of the chateau and the family were interesting. The pictures and ornaments in the public rooms were in abundance! The grounds were well laid out and cared for. The room we stayed in was the Commandant's room which had many pictures, ornaments and lights. Whilst these were interesting they were not clean!! The breakfast was poor. We were not offered more coffee, there was no 'protein'. eg. eggs, cheese, meat. One of the owners was a little rude, or bad tempered. Altogether because of these issues we considered that it was not good value for money.

The Chateau de Goville was a perfect romantic stay. Its location in the countryside and its lovely gardens provided us with a lovely tranquil atmosphere. Also, the room was very spacious. The whole inside of the chateau is worthy a visit, there are lot of interesting collections of porcelain, silver, and other antiques.

My wife and I enjoyed the quiet ambience in a stately, tranquil setting. The antiques and memorabilia were outstanding and added to the ambience. Loved the Cavalier King Charles dogs. The proprietor and staff were excellent and friendly. The location is not easy to find, and a little further from the town of Bayeux than we thought.

The grounds are beautiful. The chateau and furnishings are also great. The owners have dogs, which we did not expect or enjoy. The plumbing in the room is not especially good or attractive. The staff was not aware of a local restaurant that we became aware of in one day. The staff recommended a restaurant in Bayeux and told us we did not need a reservation. Needless to say, they did not make a reservation for us and we were turned away at the restaurant.

Nice hotel, beautiful gardens, our room had a good size and nice view at the garden. Breakfast in the room, but we liked it. The environment is quiet, but its a great place to discover the coast of Normandy. We did enjoy our stay, nothing to complain about.

Not much to talk about really, the bed was comfortable, the gardens are pleasing and it is easy to find. It was more like staying in someones room that they displayed all their old heirlooms , and bric a brac, this place could really do with a new owner who wants to promote the business and have a restaurant as it is it is an expensive and dissapointing experience
