Everything. The owner worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable. The room was huge & very comfortable as was the bathroom. The meals were well prepared & imaginative. All the guests were happy & chatted like friends.
It's a lovely place and they have done it up well. Breakfast was lovely in the gorgeous old dining room.
We were unaware we could have dinner there, and went to a local (very ordinary!)village nearby for an awful pizza!! It's a bit out on a limb.
Friendly and helpful proprietor. Large room, beautiful period decor in lounge and dining areas, lovely surrounding lawns and trees. We had a nice three course evening meal at a reasonable price. The chateau is about 40 minutes from Carcassonne.
This was a minor problem, but the WiFi was a bit weak and intermittent in our room but fine in the public areas.
Location, quiet, great value for money. Helpful staff. The rooms are huge with modern bathrooms
Lovely old chateau in a tiny hamlet. Nicely restored with large bedrooms and huge bathrooms. Extensive grounds and very peaceful location. 3 course evening meal was well prepared and cooked with fresh ingredients, not gourmet food but none the less very good. Good continental breakfast. Very good local wines on offer at reasonable prices, host brought us wine to enjoy in the chateau grounds and was on hand if you needed anything . Nicely stocked bar which stayed open very late.
Swimming pool needed a face lift, steps rusty and bottom of the pool looked dirty. Pool furniture also old and in need of restoration.
breakfast was very basic. The seats at the breakfast were dirty.
Everything!!! Splendid spot with first-rate facilities and a superb host. Monsieur Hugues does it all himself... cooking, serving and sommelier service. It's table d'hote, so you need to book dinner in advance; we didn't, but Hugues sorted it, and we dined in style, en plein air, with the other 10 guests
What's not to like about this rather spectacular place, very convenient for Carcassonne airport, too.
Spirit of the old house and the garden. The place is really quite
You can hardly use the swimming pool as it looks a bit dirty
quiet and relaxing.
location is the BEST! efficient and friendly staff big room, huge bed, great bathroom
The atmosphere can bring one back centuries. Mind though that ceturies old doors and walls may not hold back sounds well... A host/owner who worked hard to make us happy. Pool was the pnly thing holding back standing ovations from my side.
The peaceful rural location, elegant decor, breakfast, dinner.
Our room, although very spaceous, had a bit more emphasis on stylish design than comfort. The black and dark brown decor was rather gloomy and funereal.
Excellent value equation, beautiful location, dining room with personality, very quiet/silent, very comfortable bed
Poor Wi-Fi connection, too many cheap interior decoration items, towels end of life
magnificent chateau, very well converted/adapted. Fine location, splendid breakfast. Attentive host who patiently explained history of the house.
This place is gorgeous! Our room was enormous & fab mix of history and de-cluttered contempory fittings. Linen and pillows are suberb! I love the fact that a french chateau made the effort to provide a kettle & tea-tray in the room, as is not the norm in France. The surrounding countryside is lovely & ideal for cycling and exploring. The 3-course dinner and breakfast both superb. The owner is a wonderful host.
Our only regret was not booking for longer!
Attractive styling of old chateau, not at all pretentious; spacious, comfortable room.
Nothing else going on in the village.
We found Michau, the owner, to be an excellent host. Always attentive and willing to make suggestions of places to visit and restaurants. Beds and fresh linen changed daily made for a perfect nights sleep followed by a perfect breakfast. Fantastic stay.
every thing the host was brillant
Utterly beautiful. Delicious home-cooked meal. Staff delightful and couldn't do enough for us.
Amazing place, very quiet and beautiful château. Excellent if you travel by car and want to visit this part of France. Everything was absolutely brilliant – big bright room and bathroom, huge comfortable bed, period furniture, nice garden... You can have dinner in the château – we’ve tried ones and it was delicious (25EUR pp).
The service, the bed and the food
Uncomfortable chairs in bedroom
Chateau Gramazie with its extensive landscaped grounds is located in the picture-perfect rolling countryside between Carcassonne & Mirepoix. The public rooms of the Chateau were beautifully decorated in traditional style, and were very spacious and comfortable. Our room was a very pleasant surprise with a modern feel, spacious, lovely shuttered windows and an amazing view over the swimming pool, parklands and beyond. Our experienced and amiable host, Hugues, made certain that all our accommodation and dining needs were met. The meal that Hugues personally prepared for us (and our fellow guests) was worthy of any establishment in Paris. We wish Chateau Gramazie all the success it certainly deserves for their hospitality at this lovely destination, and we look forward to our next stay.
Great location, awesome place, lovely staff
One of the delights of travelling in France is finding and staying in beautiful old chateaux and houses, and Chateau de Gramazie is definitely up there with the best. A grandly proportioned bedroom and ensuite with equally proportioned bed and lovely furnishings. The dining, breakfast and sitting rooms all reflected the wonderful ambience of a bygone era - beautifully embellished and painted ceilings and classical furniture. Breakfast was buffet style including cold meats and cheese along with the usual sweet offerings. The owner is also an excellent chef and offers a well priced 3 course table de hote, with an excellent range of wines from local producers. While all this sounds expensive, it isn't and offers the best value for money of any of the places we stayed. Highly recommended.
Everything was good.
The location was beautiful and extremely quiet. Owner and staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. Huge bathroom and huge bedroom. Considering we were in France, breakfast was abundant.
