We spent 2 nights at this nice chateaux Dont go there looking for luxury-- but it has a nice, autentic feel, charming rooms, and excellent facilities: a huge, beautiful garden, a covered ping pong table, and a heated swimming pool.

Friendly staff and delightful grounds. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.

Disappointed that we couldn't eat at the chateau as we didn't know we had to book in advance for dinner.

Hostess was very warm and helpful, giving us lots of personal attention. Beautiful old chateau, great view. Kids enjoyed the pool, the huge open spaces, the go-carts, the peacock and the delicious breakfasts. The candle-lit dinner on our last night was truly excellent. Great central location for exploring the Loire Valley. We would love to return for a longer stay.

We liked it all - if faceless modern hotels are not your style, you will love Chateau De L'aubriere. Just be aware that there are many stairs so if mobility is an issue, you should ring ahead before booking.

The chateau was fantastic in an old world charm way and we were upgraded to the best 4 poster room. So comfortable we didn't want to leave. The breakfast had fruit from the grounds and home made jams- delicious. Would definitely recommend this lovely experience.

If your idea of a hotel/accommodation is a shabby chateau far away from it all where you’re totally dependent on the meals (breakfast and dinner) provided for a lot of money you’re at the right place.

Didn’t like the general conditions, faulty plumbing, floors that crack, hearing every noise from the neighbor's bathroom and in general the stuffiness of the place that comes with an enormous price tag. I’m comparing other similar accommodations on the same trip in the same area. Also, didn’t like the fact that it was expected to bring up and down our language to the second floor on steep steps. The pictures of the rooms and the entire description of the chateau are very deceiving.

swimming pool and the grounds were lovely, but the weather was good.We were allowed to stay a little later after check-out time which we were very grateful for.The reception lady was very accommodating, friendly and spoke good english.

The hotel is really quite run down and felt a bit sleezy. It was very expensive for what you got.Breakfast was very limited with 1 cup of coffee and warm fruit juices.Croissants ran out.40E is expensive for dinner especially if your are there with children.
