Chambres d'Hôtes Château de Martragny

We loved the grand feel and the magnificence of the old Chateau, and the staff couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. It was like living back over 200 years, but with today's luxury.

Lovely setting, very relaxing, amazing room, great value for money. The bar and brasserie were not open as it was later in the season, but they were in a really nice setting and looked very inviting. The pool looked good too but was also closed for the same reasons.

We stayed in the Chateau just one night, but if I could I would have stayed longer: the building itself it's amazing, perfectly located either you're looking for a weekend of relax (they even have a warmed swimming pool), either you want to use the chateau as a starting point to visit the D-Day beaches and places, as we finally did. The owner has been very polite with us, even if we checked in at 11pm, and the day after he took us along the property to show and tell us a little bit about the story. During summer, it's definetely the place to go! per tutti gli italiani: ANDATECI PERCHE' MERITA !!!!

The Chateau was lovely with a slight faded elegance. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We both enjoyed staying at the Chateau de Martragny and would do so again. It is in a very good location for catching a morning ferry from Cherbourg.

Large room, good pool

Booked on web as hotel but only b/B. No eating or drinking facilities until 5pm if you wanted to stay by the pool for the day. Very poor and limited food menu in restraunt. Classed as brazzerie. Info said 9.30 close but closed at 8.30 a few late arrivals were turned away. Food ran out befor closing time, staff realy need some training in manners (1 in particular) when we booked our meal at 6 o'clock for 8 o'clock and when we arrived we told there was nothing left of what we ordered but we could have chips and toasted ham sandwich with melted cheese.( There is a french name for this but I cann't spell it) this could be a realy good place

We loved the atmoshere that the owners and staff created. They made our stay a very memorable experience. Much more than just a room. We participated in their "community" meal nights and had a great time. Living in a Chateau, just as it was 250 years ago was a very unique and pleasurable experience. The Chateau is perfectly located for those wishing to visit the wwii sites. If we reutrn to France, we will return to Chambres d'Hôtes Château de Martragny as it was one of the best accomodation that we had during a 2 week stay in the country

The younger staff in the Bistro tended to chat amongst themselves and not always aware that a customer was requiring service

very helpfull and friendly staff, Yellow room best, nice bathroom rest of room delightful french decay, 1 hard chair in room,possibly when the Germans vacated in 44 the furniture left with them! All in all good fun

The staff spoke English - that is unsusual for France. It would be nice to stay in a real chateau but this one looked exactly the same as it must have looked when it was deserted after the French revolution.

This accommodation was a big disappointment. Everything was very shabby and old, the hotel smelled unpleasently. I did not touch anything since I was affraid to break something. The bathroom was a tragedy. When I told the receptionist that we did not like our room, he just said "OK, perfect". We left the hotel as soon as possible, we did not even take our breakfast. It was really a bad experience. It might have been romantic to sleep in a chateau but but it needs a huge renovation. It is situated in a camp with caravans and tents and thats not very nice either.

Locatie, entourage, zwembad, tennisbaan, ontbijt.

Bad kon je niet in douchen: handdouche kon je niet ophangen en de waterafscherming was minimaal waardoor de vloer van zeil (!) kletsnat werd. Wifi (Chateau Back) vertoonde continu storingen. Geen water op de kamer en geen koelkastje. Bij een gesloten bar/restaurant (1e week september al) was er geen voorziening om een koud drankje op de kamer te hebben. Uitstekende tennisbaan, maar ijzeren rackets waren vooroorlogs en dus onbruikbaar. Zelf dien je dus spullen mee te nemen.

Schon fast ein bischen unheimlich nachts.Es ist orginal eigerichtet und man könnte denken das es Geister gibt.Aber gottseidank gab es keine.Das Zimmer war wunderschön und das Frühstück morgens gab es in einer wirklich antiken Küche.Sehr beeindruckend!

Abbiamo prenotato una stanza con bagno in questa residenza veramente bella. Tutto è rimasto come una volta. Tutto in Legno. Personale gentilissimo. Il tutto in una incantevole cornice. La zona Camping con Roulotte e Camper non disturba affatto il clima antichizzaro dello Chateau.

Purtroppo la linea Wi-fi all'interno dello Chateau (noi eravamo al primo piano) è bassa. Abbiamo avuto qualche problema anche con la doccia. L'impianto idraulico non è certo recentissimo. Ma nulla di irrisolvibile.

Affascinante, per chi vuole provare una antica dimora, ed immergersi nella Normandia verde e curata. Nella caffetteria (menù fisso quindi dipende da quello che c'è) abbiamo provato cozze sublimi. La prima colazione servita nel salone della villa è abbondante e curata, e vista parco, insomma castellani fino in fondo! Il Campeggio, che occupa parte del grande parco, è discreto e non comporta alcun disturbo, anzi lo consiglierei. I servizi in comune sono spartani ma c'è tutto ciò che serve (anche la piscina niente male x chi ama le temperature freddine...)

I bagni delle camere sono veramente vecchi e obsoleti...ma in fin dei conti è un castello/campeggio e quindi si può sopportare. Se si vuole il Novotel, non è questo l'albergo giusto!

si soggiorna in una vera e propria residenza del XVIII secolo, in aperta campagna, molto vicino alle spiagge dello sbarco e Bayeux, certo andrebbe un Po ristrutturato, ma l'atmosfera e' veramente notevole

Acceuil chalereux, jolie chambre, ambiance sympathique

L'aria di "antico" che si apprezza nell'ingresso,su per la scala,nel corridoio e nella camera. Silenziosissimo anche grazie all'educazione dei frequentatori del campeggio annesso (quasi tutti inglesi con la roulotte,in un parco meraviglioso).

La sensazione è che fino a qualche tempo fa vi abitassero I proprietari che però hanno "lasciato andare" fin troppo la struttura.Ristrutturato forse una cinquantina di anni fa e così rimasto. Una sorta di ristorante annesso con un menu stringatissimo (le ragazze,però,sono gentilissime). Non facile arrivarci.

Il parco, la luminosità. La sensazione di essere in un ambiente d'altri tempi. Presenza di una brasserie nel parco.

L'arredamento delle camere è carente e vecchio. Le camere che ci avevano originariamente assegnato erano umide e odoravano di muffa. Loro stessi ci hanno proposto di cambiare offrendoci una camera più confortevole e regalandoci la colazione che invece era a pagamento. Il personale parla un po' di francese ma preferisce parlare inglese. Si chiama Chateau ma in realtà è una vecchia villa di campagna che meriterebbe un po' di manutenzione. Il parco è adibito a campeggio e probabilmente è più indicato come campeggio che come hotel.

Très beaux parcs, magnifique allée, beaux jardins, très bel endroit.Parfait pour du caravaning. Accueil courtois et élégant.

Le château est vieux, de grands travaux à l'intérieur seraient nécessaires, chambres vétustes, salle de bain simple, la robinetterie a besoin de remplacement.Je m'attendais à plus de luxe.

Leuke locatie in een mooi domein, en goed gelegen nabij Bayeux

Het was een onvoorstelbaar slecht bed. Wegens te slechte matras had men gewoon een plank onder de matras gestoken, waardoor het voeteinde minstens 20 centimeter hoger lag dan het midden van het bed. Onmogelijk om daar te slapen.
