Château de Maulmont  

We loved this place. The old charm and character of the place is fabulous. We were just passing on the way to Spain but enjoyed the stopover immensely.

It was absolutely charming stay - the staff were very friendly and spoke good english. The dinner in restaurant was delicious, so as breakfast. Huge rooms, 2 pools, free parking. Awesome!

it was hard to find but once found you did forget about that.

The location was amazing! We were close to Vichy which was our reason for the visit...but were thrilled to be able to return to the serene chateau and relax! We would definitely recommend it ! We hooe tomreturn!

Character of the hotel

Would've liked to have eaten there too, but the menu was too pricey.

Perfect location , stunning building , excellent staff. Rooms are nice but need a bit of refurb . Due to the age of the building I would imagine adding air conditioning would be a very difficult project.

The friedly helpfull staff who could not be faulted in any way, I had a slight accident and the way both Maartje and Ian organised my transfer to hospital was magnificent, Thankyou

We had a two night stop at this hotel. What can I say, what a beautiful chateau. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were perfect, with very clean and up to date facilities. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, and plently of choice, may be a bit expensive. Would definitely return in the future. Gardens were amazing.

It is a bit of a faux chateau because it was built in 1925 after a fire destroyed the original. However it is still lovely. We had a huge suite facing the courtyard. Very comfortable with children. My parents had a nice room in the main part of the chateau. Beautiful woodwork, stained glass, etc. My one quibble is the breakfast -- which seemed rather meager given the opulence of the surroundings. We loved the bar with the piano and chessboard and the kids enjoyed the (rather chilly) indoor pool and sauna. It would be nice to return in the summer. We stayed here because Auvergne is more or less midway between Geneva and Dordogne.

The chateaux is a beautiful building surrounded by the french countryside. The staff were excellent. Always helpful and in a perpetually good mood. The food was fantastic although a bit above my price range. It is a gourmet restaurant though so that is justified. The pool and sauna was a delight any time, night or day, followed by a stroll on the balcony with a glass o the bubbly stuff. I have stayed in higher starred hotels that were nowhere near as good but it is the attention to detail that keeps this hotel at the 3 star level. Al in all, a highly recommended, beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and wonderful staff. I would definitely go back.

The only detractions were the lack of a safe in my room and a menu option at a cheaper price.

Ein wundervolles Schloss. Zum Hotel umgebaut, unter Beibehaltung des Ursprünglichen. Dennoch mit grossem Komfort. Das Schloss liegt in einer wahrhaft märchenhaften Landschaft. Das Personal war freundlich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist völlig in Ordnung. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Très beau château, particulièrement bien rénové et entretenu. Prestations de grande qualité. personnel compétent et accueillant. restaurant gastronomique, chambres spacieuses, particulièrement les suites et le tout pour un rapport qualité/prix remarquable. A conseiller...

Un lugar precioso y muy cómodo.

Desgraciadamente nos tocó mal tiempo y no lo pudimos disfrutar como queríamos.

La situation de ce château est magnifique et celui-ci est bien entretenu. Nous avons été bien reçu et le service à table est impeccable. La cuisine est raffinée.
