We spent 5 wonderful, comfortable nights at the Hotel. The staff were genuinely kind, helpful, friendly and engaging. They recommended the most superb local restaurants at relatively affordable prices. The hotel is ideally situated in a beautiful and fascinating part of the Dordogne. A large and very well appointed room with all those small but important aspects well considered. A very happy and relaxed time. The only minor issue was that, at breakfast, it would have been good if coffee could have been freshly made and served in individual caffetieres at the point when one sat down to breakfast. In other words the breakfast coffee was a disappointment.

It was a very attractive alternative to staying in Sarlat, and it has free parking. So, if you are driving, this is definitely the better alternative. It's only 10 minutes from Sarlat, and 2 minutes from Beynac. Has a swimming pool and laundry facilities, too. Nothing--I would recommend this to anyone.

It was a good striking chateau and easy to find While there was a facility to get a digestif/drink on our return back to the chateau at night, it was not obvious what choice you had, because the drinks were prepared in the kitchen - a bar area would have been a welcome sight.

We loved the look of it (like a fairytale castle), the setting (in beautiful countryside, but quite close to the most amazing little ancient towns we have ever seen!) and we also loved the spacious room and swimming pools. The veranda where breakfast is served was great. The staff were fantastic and Christelle gave us very good advice on things to do in the area. She is great! We would definetely recommend it and would want to go back.

the hotel is well located in the Dordogne Valley : all heritage sites are easy accessable the hotel surroundings are calm though, so the nights are very quiet the swimming pool in very interesting for families with children the temperature of the water in the pool should be warmer : you have to stay active in the pool or you get cold

Good location, beautiful gardens & building. Variety of options to stay. Very friendly staff. We had an issue with no hot water one morning & they attended very promptly & sorted the issue. Nothing reallly. It would have been nice to have been able to make a coffee in your room as the place is only B&B.

The rooms were spacious and exactly as advertised. The reception staff extremely helpful and friendly speaking excellent English. Breakfast was plentiful and served on the terrace which was a lovely start to the day. Pool whilst not heated was clean and of a reasonable size. Knew when I booked (as it was the last family room) that it did not have air-conditioning however it did need it. The hotel provided fans but they were not adequate for the role. Having said that would book to stay at this hotel again if ever re-visited the region

The gardens are beautifully kept, flowers in good condition. The Chateau itself is in good condition, but looks tired inside. The breakfast was very poor. No bread, only uninspiring rolls, difficult to toast. No eggs of any sort, hot or cold.

Great to stay in a castle. Extremely helpful and polite staff. Good breakfast and lovely setting, eating it on the terrace in the summer. Great hotel to relax and unwind and have a swim in the pool.

We loved the Chateau, which had two swimming pools, very easy to find, in a beautiful location. Easy drive to restaurants closeby. The staff were very pleasant and having stayed in hotels in many countries we found it to be very good value for money.

Beautiful setting with stunning views, an impressive building with well appointed gardens and pool areas, the staff are very freindly and helpful, Monrecour is in a very tranquil setting close to the Dordogne and the village of Beynac et Cazenac. The only issue we would have is that there are no evening restaurant facilities on site and it's not possible to walk into Beynac at night as the road does not have a footpath for much of the way.

The swimming pool complex was very good. Two pools and two smaller infant/toddler pools. Not very busy with plenty of seating. One pool in front of the chateau which was available to all but more adult friendly. The two receptionist (day and night) were excellent in so far as they spoke english extremely well and were very helpful. I think if they were less so then my overall view of the place might have been not so high. In any case we stayed an extra night. No bar or snack facilities. The receptionist would bring a beer or hot and cold drink if requested to the seating area on the terrace but the poor girl had to do everything from lifting luggage to showing people to their rooms. For the size of the place there was no indoor seating area apart from the breakfast room which was, as expected, furnished with tables and chairs. As the weather was wet an indoor cozy sitting room could have been expected.

This must be one of the best-kept secrets of the Dordogne. Its country location just outside Beynac is ideal for the best sights of the region, easily found, and is an imposing chateau in its own right, equipped with all that's required for a relaxing stay (swimming pool of course) whilst oozing old-world charm. Spotlessly clean, well-maintained rooms, old style or modern to your taste, whilst staff are competent and exceptionally pleasant and helpful. My short stay here was a delight, I hope to return.

Amazing! Definitely recommend and would stay there again. The castle and its location were just beautiful. We stayed in the annex which was also very comfortable and good value. The swimming pool was wonderful and the views spectacular. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was only about 5 min drive from Beynac, and you could see Beynac castle from the hotel. Excellent place to explore this most spectacular section of the Dordogne from. We can recommend the restaurant at Domme - la esplanade, it was also amazing.

Absolutely everything was outstanding. The property and its environs are absolutely gorgious. Great location with beautiful views of the surroundings. The whole staff does an excellent job; they are very knowledgeable, very courteous and very, very helpful. Our room was very clean and nice and the optional breakfast is very good also. If we ever returned to this area, we'd definitely plan to stay here again! No complaints whatsoever!

I do usually write my usual staff, when I comment about the hotels I've stayed in. But this one is a must visit! Such a wonderful chateau, excellent and helpful staff (Christell was extremely nice and helpful!), nice service and room! In my opinion, breakfast could be slightly better
