The room was lovely with a view of nearby castle in one direction and chateau in another!! The bathroom was large with separate shower and bath. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the region which was a delight! They knew it was our anniversary and made an extra effort for us. We will be back!!!
Bed was a bit hard but more positives about this hotel than not.
Amazing building very grand. Library very nice with games and billiards room. Fabulous breakfast very fresh. Comfortable cosy bed. Free parking.
Charm room- a little tired some furniture not as expected of the period.
Energetic, young, friendly, and competent staff. Great food in the restaurant and breakfast. Beautiful, authentic feeling chateau. Very nice view. Nice, large room and great bathroom.
The pool and the room we had overlooked a road that had a lot of traffic for that area of France. Not too much noise at night, but if you really want quiet, not the best to have a quiet beverage on the terrace. So many reviews do not take into account the noise factor.
location is superb for touring the area, the restaurant is very good and excellent value for money.
noting of any note
Good location, stayed one night in the "chateau" and the other in the annex. I actually like to annex (less expensive) room better. Staff recommended the restaurant "La Petite Tonnelle" in the tiny village of Beynac. Excellent - ate there twice. We didn't try the hotel restaurant.
Dirty glasses in the chateau room, morning traffic noise. Desk staff hard to find and sometimes not available. A small refrigerator in the annex room would of been helpful.
Staff was great A problem with the plumbing in the room prior to our arrival was worked around with great communications.
Great location. Great views. Excellent value.
Secluded but close to main must see sights of the region this Chateau hotel offers convenience at a reasonable price. The lady manager and her husband chef at the restaurant, not to forget the rest of the pleasant and informed staff will do it all to make your stay memorable.
Not sure I can find something to fill this section. One suggestion for the hotel and the region in general, is to get a good GPS to make the travel to the sights as enjoyable as the stay
The location was great for visiting Sarlat, Baynac, caves and other things. Very quiet, peaceful, and well kept old chateau. Their restaurant was outstanding and breakfast facilities and offerings really nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The beautiful ambience of this chateau. The delightful bedrooms and public rooms. The peace of the terrace with its amazing views across the valley of the Dordogne. Taking breakfast there was a real treat. The friendly staff.
The restaurant. We'd eaten there when we stayed last year and found it okay, but this year's menu looked more promising. Bear in mind that we stayed in seven chateau hotels on our holiday and had other meals to compare this with. Sadly, my main course was just a small piece of white fish with white beans; it was meant to have shellfish, but that equated to four tiny shells with miniscule meat in them. I could not eat the dish, and complained. Neither the restaurant manager or the hotel manager did anything to redress my complaint. The other meals served to our party were poor value too - overpriced and nothing special. Great hotel, shame about the food. I'd recommend going into nearby Beynac to eat.
The detail of the buildings and the feeling of the place.
Lovely chateaux and setting.
no lift for disabled. Did not enjoy restaurant meal.
Beautiful chateau just a few minutes drive from all the tourist places, but out of the way enough to escape.
Wow. Not the easiest place to find but wow. We left the west coast in the morning and this was our first stop in the Dordogne. Driving up the drive was impressive and the grounds are too. The lady on reception was helpful and she even, insisted on carrying my case up three flights(lift not working). We were in the tower and the view was amazing. The size of the room and bathroom were great. Very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. My husband has dietary requirements, I advised them when we booked, and they were very accommodating with dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend this Chateau and not 'over the top' expensive like some.close to ruins, gardens and river. Great place to stay.
Good location for visiting area
The room was large the staff were excellent the pool was very pleasant the breakfast was plentiful.
We had to ask for toiletries and milk for the room continuously and you need a car to get to the nearest village.
The hotel location and pool were both excellent. Our room #1 was spacious and the bathroom good. Staff was good and were helpful.
No air conditioning. No bar service at night. We tried getting a drink in the restaurant after we returned from dinner and they were busy serving the dinner guests and ignored us.
2nd nite stay in the annex should have the same amenities as main building, however love the first nite main bldg
It was a pleasure to be looked after as special people during our two day visit from the arrival greeting until our departure. The room in the tower was perfect. The meals excellent. The grounds peaceful.
The climb to the tower but it was worth it.
Great location for exploring the Dordogne. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Excellent pool and great views. Good parking facilities.
Proximity to so many attractions- Excellent restaurant- Superb comfort- Exceptional and friendly service
Non-availability of informal snack meals for which facilities do exist- but rankle it is hard to criticize. We had everything we needed. It was splendid!
Location - exceptional Ambience and character - exceptional Pool Helpful staff Facilities
No big minuses Room partitions are thin so you can hear neighboring rooms and cleanliness only OK, but minor gripes
Location Very well lit building Pleasant and helpful staff Nice swimming pool
Noisy Breakfast is not worth the price - very basic Overpriced for what you get Hard to open / close shades at windows
Location View Decor Friendly helpful stuff
As family traveler we needed and did not get some must items for children breakfast such as fresh milk (always was spoiled???!!!),eggs and porridge, no vegetables. No prices for children dinner menu put us in un-pleasant situation .
