Domaine de Monrecour  

The hotel is very impressive, a beautiful mansion in a nice environment. The rooms are gorgeous.Spacious and stylishly decorated,with a very modern bathroom. We enjoyed it a lot.Very recomendable.

This is not a complaint.. Just the fact. There is no restaurant around the hotel. But you find some restaurants in Beynac, which is 5 minute drive from the hotel.

Charming place. Loved the scenic views and flowers. We liked the couple who served breakfast; they are a prize. Stephanie was very helpful.

Lack of late afternoon beer or wine on the terrace. Recommend improving that.

We had a lovely stay at Domaine de Monrecour. It is very well placed for the castles of Dordogne with lots to see within a short driving distance. The room was very comfortable. The pool area was excellent with lots of loungers and parasols. This was a good base for a family trip as the chateau was impressive but not stuffy and had a welcoming comfortable atmosphere.

Beautiful spot and an excellent opportunity to stay in a castle! With several lovely swimming pools and wonderful views. Close to nice little towns and the river Dordogne. Ideal for couples with kids and couples without (because the more busy swimming pool for children is seperated from the romantic, quiet swimming pool at the frontside).

Complaints? Not at all! But maybe a good suggestion for the staff: we missed a high standard restaurant in the outstanding breakfast room. The current restaurant doesn't have the feeling of a castle and that's a pity.

1/. Worst first. The owners live in the Chateau and are chain-smokers. The chateau stank of cigarette smoke even though there are signs everywhere saying No Smoking. It was revolting. 2/.The breakfasts were lousy. Coffee served stewed and luke warm out of an urn. Almost no healthy foods to eat. Bad cereals and pastries.Cheap and nasty for a "Chateau" stay. 3/. Decor is very dated. Needs an uplift and makeoever to add some style and taste

Beautiful location friendly staff only stopped for overnight stay but will be definitely be returning.

The location is great - close to Beynac, Sarlat, Domme and Chateau des Milandes if you have a car. The staff were friendly and helpful. The family apartment was spacious and comfortable, and the swimming pools were clean.

I really enjoyed our stay here. I remember waking up the first morning and peeking outside our door to fields full of sunflowers. The location is only about a kilometer from historic Beynac and the area is incredibly beautiful. The chateau seemed well maintained and clean and they served a sumptuous breakfast every morning. There are two big pools and lots of room on the grounds. The best part of our stay was the staff. Everyone we encountered was gracious and helpful. We had problems with our rental car and Stephanie arranged for alternative transportation and even gave us a ride in her own car when we needed to head down the road for the afternoon. I would love to return to this spot again.

We stayed in the family room in the annex during a heat wave. It probably would have been okay in normal temperatures, but the loft area was quite warm and the fans didn't make enough of a difference.
