Modernized and cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Loved the rooms and the grounds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were impressed by the future plans for the chateau, particularly the proposed restaurant and Michelin rated chef.
The furnishings were a bit too contemporary for the chateau's age.
Graziella was a friendly and helpful host. We love chatting with her. The sitting area was always playing relaxing music and with wood burning in the real fireplace. It makes a great place to relax, read a book and appreciate the garden right outside. The suite that we had was of a nice size and tastefully decorated. Furniture are quite new.
No mini fridge in room. Also, the room and the hallways can be a bit more well lit. We suggest to provide more premium and more comprehensive toiletries to commensurate with the boutique style. Given Nazelle has no restaurants nearby, it would be wonderful if dinner could be served in the castle too.
Greeted exceptionally well. Charlotte was very helpful - she showed me the grounds around he chateau. Exceptional value.
Lack of restaurants in walking distance.
The passage from the car park to the hotel
No restaurant but they offer a Platter Gourmand. Hardly Gourmand only adequate. No bar but they offer beer, limited wine and soft drinks. Arrived back the second night at 9pm after dinner and everything was closed up so couldn't get a drink at all. No mirror in the bedroom and the breakfast was the worst we had on a 15 day tour of France. All in all a complete waste of money. Could not recommend this place at all
The staff were great - really helpful and friendly The rooms were large and comfortable with good views The pool is a great place to relax The car park is really fun!
We realised the chateau was a work in progress but a restaurant or hot dinner option would be a great addition
We loved so much of our stay. Aside from the amazing building, the pool is superb. The rooms extremely well appointed & very clean. Luxury, comfort & style. Yummy breakfast & very friendly service. Peaceful day & night and the country side is gorgeous. Kids loved it as did we.
We stayed for 4 days, didn't think we'd need a car, this was a mistake. Would have loved the chateau to have a full restaurant /cafe. We had a great cold platter but kids a bit tired of bread, cheese, terrine for breakfast, lunch & tea! A laundry would be handy for longer stays - maybe we should have asked, they were very helpful.
Staff were superb and catered to our needs. We loved the property and grounds. Felt homely and relaxing. Loved the open space to roam. Just beautiful.
Room was spacious and clean. Sleeping with the windows open was great...very little noise except for the owls at night which we enjoyed listening to.
While it was unique parking in a cave, ease of parking was an issue. WIFI definetely needs to be upgraded.
The setting of this hotel is stunning, as is the building itself. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, but keep out of your way, making the place very quiet and tranquil. It's a short drive to Amboise for food and drink, and many of the Loire Valley sights are within easy driving distance. Parking in the hotel garage was an event in itself - it is carved our of the rock, with a tunnel to reception!
The hotel may be too quiet for some, but we loved the peace. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss.
The breakfast buffet for 12 EU was very spartan, not what one expects of French cuisine. There were small containers of yogurt, few overripe bananas, a small bowl of chocolate cereal, small cold croissants, butter, jam and very few cold cuts, about 8-10 pieces if one kind of sliced cheese and meat. Coffee, tea and milk. I had 1 yogurt, tasted the croissant and a cup of coffee for 12 EU. I would have liked a selection of meats and cheeses, warm croissants, some French pastries, eggs, etc.
Lovely little chateau built into the rock, very knowledgeable and helpful young staff. Nice fresh breakfast and good wines. Looking forward to returning next time we visit the Loire Valley.
The lovely location, beautiful Chateau. Wonderful staff.
No mini fridge, which would be useful to keep water cool.
Location was good as you can reach in 30-40 minutes a lot of castles Staff- very nice and friendly
No internet conections. You can connect only in the imediate vecinity of the door of their office. So in the lobby no internet. It was funny, one evening we were 5 guests, all standing in the front of the office for an internet connection. Also, no internet in the rooms. So if you want an isolate holliday away from your bussines , this is a perfect location !!! No minibar !!! During hot days you can drink only warm watter ! And you must bring your own watter because they don't provide it. We insist every day to have water in the room but they ignored or they gave one bottle 0,5 l for 2persons. No safe in the room. Breakfast very poor. You can not order eggs or anything because they have only a microwave... We have stayed 5 days and everyday we ate absolutely the same ham, same cheese... Now , for at least 2 month I don't want to see any ham !!!! Conclusion: bad services and attention! They are not classified in the system of the stars hotels. They have no star. They have a symbol with a lion and 4 star but it is a trick of them and brings you in error.
We loved our stay at the chateau - it's close to Amboise which has great restaurants. We had interconnecting rooms for us and our 3 children on the ground floor. The buffet breakfast was perfect and all the staff very helpful. The swimming pool was amazing (they provide pool towels) and we had it to ourselves most of the time! It is a relaxed place to me, with great grounds. We were able to put the kids to bed and sit outside on the terrace with a glass of wine - perfect.
The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but you can preorder a cold meal at night for 25 euro pp. The quality of the food was great but the quantity not so - when we commented on the meagre portions of cheese, pate, bread etc they bought us more however. We needed a dehumidifier in the kids room (like ours, some of the rooms are carved out of the rock).
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautifully kept and calming. It was a wonderful place to use as a base for exploring the Loire valley.
There was nothing about it that we did not like.
The building and its surroundings. Well placed to visit other castles of the Loire.
Improvements could be made on the breakfast, the wifi location.
The setting is beautiful in spacious grounds with nice landscaping. the hotel is an old small chateau that is beautiful from the outside. The parking is adequate. Charlotte, the hotel manager was very nice and helpful.
I took an 18 day tour of Europe with my family and this is the only hotel that disappointed me. We stayed her for 2 nights and couldn't wait to get out. It was very expensive for what was actually delivered. The building is very impressive from the outside and we had great expectations when we arrived. However we were quickly disapointed. The building is old and built into the side of a cliff. Our room was a recessed cave in this cliff. It was dank, and had an oppresive musty smell. The stone walls sweated and if you brushed against them, a stain would be left on your clothes. We were never told when we booked that our room was a cave. It required the constant running of a dehumidifier. Unfortunately the dehumidifier would fill after only a few hours and would stop working. We would awake in the middle of the night with the dehumidifier not working and the room filled with a strong odor and moisture. The common areas of the hotel were barely furnished. There was mold in the bathroom. The wifi worked only in the common areas and then only very poorly. If more than 2 guests tried to log on, the internet would completely freeze up. The breakfasts were disappointing as well. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
we most liked the garage an the tunnel (entry for the hotel)
funiture smells (old) found much hair on our bed and in the bathroom without reservation no diner possibility in the evening - no vegetarian meal poor choice at the breakfast table
It's a Suprise Book and go
No meal available the night we stayed
Staff ..Charlotte and Alexandra were extremely friendly and helpful. Very good location to be able to see the surrounding area and close to Amboise for restaurants and other amenities. Rooms and bathroom good Good parking Beautiful swimming pool Lovely grounds Meeting Olivier the owner and hearing about the history and the plans for the future ..we wish him well.
No Wifi In Rooms poor quality in lounge No English speaking TV channels No access to a fridge Lounge and Dining Room needs upgrading in keeping to a Chateau style.
Modern, comfortable rooms Amazing setting Great rooms Great service
Would have been good to have the option of more meals in thé château
The location, the property, helpful staff. We relaxed being in such a beautiful place. Much more beautiful than the pictures.
