Unusual Chateau built into rock face set in its own park. Fusion of traditional and modern decoration Plenty of potential for a peaceful luxurious location. Pleasant proprietor with interesting development plans. Very helpful, hard working manager.

Still quite a newly developed enterprise so a few rough edges.

I have to start with the manager, Francois. The most wonderful host we ever had. He made our stay so memorable. Every day we have a surprise item on the breakfast menu, and everything was so tasty and a great presentation. Francois was most helpful in every way, ensuring that we had everything that we needed throughout our stay. Chateau is beautiful and the view from our bedroom was lovely. We hope to return to this unforgettable place with the skilled chateau host and manager, Francois

Short stay ( only 4 nights) Couple towel hooks in the bathroom will be nice

Beautiful, unusual hotel with all the mod/cons; Our only regret was not to have had more time to spend there. Highly highly recommendable. 10/10 without a doubt

A longer stay.....

Very helpful staff, large rooms, very comfortable

Only just opened and a few minor finishing touches still needed, this is a luxury stopover at currently a budget price, you will not get this amount of luxurious space in a totally refurbished chateau for this money anywhere at the moment, the beds were the most comfortable I have used in any hotel this is all likely to go upmarket in its use and price in the near future take advantage now of a well run very desirable stop over while you can.

Quiet location, very spacious room, friendly and accomodating "manager" who did everything.

Coffee / tea facilities in room would have been nice. Hotel still a "work in progress" with further renovations planned, but this didnt detract.

What a wonderful, new facility. The chateau has just opened as a lodging, and we found everything perfect. Francois, our host, was most cordial and helpful.

Nice location, beautiful Chateau, definately recommended

The manager was friendly and attentive and the chateau has been imaginatively updated without losing it's former charm. The extensive grounds were a favourite with our 2 dogs.

There were no towel hooks in the bathroom but I'm sure these were due to be put up shortly.

It is a magical place to stay! A wonderful old chateau that is being done up to a very high standard. The rooms are a wonderful mix of old and new and have exquisite bathrooms. The grounds are lovely and include a beautiful swimming pool. The area is charming and includes a delightful village down the road. The manager Francoise could not be nicer or more helpful.I will definitely return next year.

It would have been nice to have a bar on site. However, we then did notice that people brought in their own drinks and were able to have them chilled. So that makes up for it.

The Manager, Francois, who speaks excellent English, was most helpful in every way, ensuring that we had everything that we needed throughout our stay. The suite that we occupied was very well furnished and had wonderful views from the balconies which overlooked the grounds of the Chateau. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location, making it an ideal base for visiting many of the beautiful places along the Loire valley. We stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago,before the change of owner, and appreciate the addition of a lift. It is a beautiful building with many interesting features.

There was nothing we did not like about the Chateau. However, as a mature couple with minor mobility problems, we feel that a handle or safety rail, to make it a little easier to get in and out of the bath, would be an asset, together with some hooks and towel rails in the bathroom. Perhaps the addition of a room safe and a small refrigerator would be a good idea.

The Chateau was beautiful, with stunning decor throughout. The owner was very helpful & nothing seemed too much trouble. We were made to feel like welcome guests. The Chateau is located in a peaceful setting, and has an impressive outside pool in a private area. We took a pleasant 40 minute walk into Amboise, which offers a fantastic choice of restaurants amongst the towns historic centre set alongside the Loire. Highly recommended if you wish to explore the local & surrounding area from a luxurious base.

Attention to detail lacking. No toilet roll holder and no hooks or rails to hang towels. No chairs in the bedroom. Mirrors still needed hanging. Some provision for a shaded area needed at the pool. No decaff coffee available.

We enjoyed very much our staying at the castle. Francois is a nice person. He speaks 4 languages. Good Spanish amongst them. Atmosfera is very relaxing. We strongly recommend it.

Francois was wonderful and greeted us outside upon our arrival. He was available at any time. We had a two room suite with a beautiful view out the front of the Chateau. The bathroom was newly renovated.

There seems to be quite a bit of work that needs to be completed before this is a top destination. There is no kitchen so breakfast is strictly yogurt, cheese and breads. The internet is only available in one room on the main floor and that didn't always work. Our daughter's bed was a rock hard rollaway on floor and we had to use the extra blankets to make it comfortable enough to sleep on. We also stepped off the elevator to no lights on our floor and had to search for a switch to find our way to our room.

i have read some messages on the site about uncomfort stay in this chateau. we were lucky - our appartment was on the top of the right tower, exactly under its conical roof. it was absolutely dry and with fresh air from the park around. during the night it was almost absolute silence with moonlight directly in the loophole of the tower. breakfast is reach and healthy - chevre cheese, jam, cornflakes... the 'majordomo' Francois is absolutely friendly and clever person. he recommended us where to go for sight-seeing (ambois castle is #1) and where to eat (La Reserva). we will come back with pleasure.

The chateau was very charming and the Francois was extremely engaging.

As others have said, this place is made by Francois the manager who is so helpful and friendly. We loved the new renovations and the mix of old and (very) modern. The setting is also lovely with large grounds to wander in. The breakfast was nice and we could eat outside in the sunshine.

When we stayed there it was quite unfinished. Lots of bits and pieces that need finishing off. When it is finished it will be lovely, but there is still some work to do. We stayed in a sort of 'cave' room on the ground floor, which was quite damp, even though the weather was good. We asked to change rooms but as the hotel was fully booked, we were not able to. I expect some of the rooms on the upper floors are lovely, but we did not see them. Some features of our room were not finished (radiators not attached, curtain rail unfinished etc.). The swimming pool also needs a lot of work doing to finish to off - at the moment it's just rubble around the sides. When the work is done to iron out these details, this will be a great hotel, but I would recommend that you check first which room you've been assigned and how complete the work is.

Francois, the manager, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and provided helpful information about visiting the Amboise area. Simple but excellent continental breakfast, with great croissants, bread and local goat cheese. The suite of two rooms was perfect for a family of four, and everything is brand new as the hotel was just renovated.

A little far from town, but it's a very peaceful countryside location and only 5 minutes drive to the center of Amboise.

I loved everything about our stay at the chatteau. Francois was a very charming and thoughtful host. Breakfast wa ample as proved by our waistlines! The castle was an amazing place to wander around and explore. I would be interested to see it in a few years time with so much still planned for it

The only complaint would be the internet. It did not work at all in our room and was a hard to access in other spots. Francois is aware of this and trying to get it fixed. I guess when they built castle walls out of stone they did not know it did not allow great wifi!

Just great ! Francois received us better then in a 5 star hotel , the hotel has a great cave at the back of the hotel what makes it incredible and special .the rooms at the top with wooden sealing are top .enjoy
