Château De Pray  

It was simply wonderful. Lovely room, cleaned spotlessly each day. Great food, served by helpful, polite and knowledgible staff. All in a terrific location, We would definitely recommend it to others.

Cannot think of anything, really.

We were looking to stay in a "castle" and this fit the bill. The adults in our group stayed in the main house while the families with children stayed in the Pavillion Renaissance rooms across the main chateau. The Pavillion rooms were huge -- "two" stories (enough space to sleep two more on "second" floor in addition to two on the main floor); fully renovated and very modern bathrooms. The chateau is very charming (kids found it creepy but in a fun way). There's even a small forest behind the chateau you can wander in. The only downside was that we arrived on the day the dining room was closed. We would've loved to try a superb meal there (at least that's what it read like on the menu).

We lost our way and the charming man on reception guided us in via our mobile. Although the restaurant was closed the hotel was warm and inviting. We stupidly declined breakfast - which would have been better than the recommended place in the town where my wife found hairs in her omlette. We looked for the hotel in Travel Republic but it was not there. The deal via Booking.com was fantastic. We advise travellers not to use Travel Republic as they do not tell you clearly about cancellation charges and are horrible when you complain about anything.

There was a time limit on returning to the hotel with our car as the gate shut at 10pm. But when we told the man on reception that this was a problem he sorted it out and the gate was still open when we returned at 11pm. The 4-poster bed was incomplete (having no canopy) and the hotel operated a system of press button lights in the halls ans stars that could lkeave you groping in the dark. Also there is no lift - so do not bring in heavy bags.

Loved the Chateau itself, it is a very beautiful building and surrounds, one of the highlights of our trip. A very special place. Also the breakfast is served in a very special room that has been carved into the cliff face, good selection for breakfast. Only wish we could of spent longer there. Highly recommend.

Room was not ready upon arrival, although it was 15.30 h. A lot of flies but that is nobody's fault. The door of the room was difficult to lock(the handle came off) and in the middle of the night the bathroom mirror fell of the wall. Surprise !

Location was great, very central, and staff were very helpful. Had we had more time and not been there during a heat wave, I expect we would've enjoyed our stay even more! Breakfast while pricey was one of the best we've had in France.

We were put on 2ieme floor during a heat wave with only one tiny fan to cool the room - better than nothing, but an extra fan or even an apology might've made the experience a bit better.

We had a not large but very cosy beautifully decorated room with a view into the yard. The bathroom was unexpectedly large and comfortable. Thr chateau is situated in the very good location, not far from Amboise and other main places of interest. On the other hand the atmosphere around is very tranquil and relaxing. The restaurant has to be mentioned. The cuisine is really tasty and refined.

The main discomfort is the absence of a lift

uitstekend personeel, comfortabele kamers in een prachtige ambiance. De keuken is zeer inventief met bij het seizoen horende suggesties. Bediening uitermate vriendelijk en attent. Men weet waar het over gaat!

住所が間違っていたので、レンタカーのナビで探すことができず、2時間もうろうろさせられた。部屋に付いた- ときは冷え冷えとしていた。部屋が暖まらなかった。

La proprete les poussieres ne sont pas faite il ne faut ouvrir les tiroirs de la superbe commode et ne pas regardé au plafond vu les toiles d araignée la salle de bain a peine propre la chasse d eau des les wc fuit pas de peignoir bref cela ne corresond pas a un 4 étoiles et a 215€ la nuit on peut s attendre a mieux je n vous le conseil pas sauf pour le restaurant c le top

l'accueil à était impeccable et la proposition de nous mettre dans une chambre au château parce que celle réservée était trop froide nous a agréablement surpris;personnel très agréable

Très bon acceuil, présence et discrétion. Table excellente, personnel à l'écoute et de bon conseil. A l'écart de la ville.
