Novotel Château de Versailles  

We enjoyed our stay in Versailles. We cannot speak any French, however the people of Versailles both residents and service orientated, were extremely gracious and accommodating... From the staff at the Palace who were sensitive to the needs of a disabled guest, to the bus drivers, train station staff and staff at the NovoHotel in Versailles. Paris is wonderful, but a stay in Versailles is a hidden treasure! Heather Lightfoot

Room was too hot even with the thermostat at 0.

The staff , especially the reception and the chef and his staff, deserve compliments for their effort, their helpfulness, their willingness to help and their general knowledge and service. They are your best asset.

I asked for a room for my disabled daughter and myself..... Specifically a twin-bedded room.... But what we were shown was a room with a double bed and a sofa-bed..... Not at all what I had paid for or was promised. Very bad and very uncomfortable. Even worse there is no extractor fan in either the bathroom or toilet which means that steam and bad odours remain trapped in the rooms. There are no mirrors in the bedroom for grooming, just a mirror by the door, too dark for makeup.

Great location close to Palace

Very large room with sofabed useful for a couple on a long trip with a lot of luggage. Lots of cupboard space and excellent bathroom with separate toilet. Lovely decor and very quiet. Good staff, smiling and enthusiastic.

The tea and coffee and milk situation seemed mean in comparison with the generosity of the room. Two little milk pottles per person for 24 hours and small amounts of different teas - most people prefer either ordinary or mint or herbal- not usually one or two of each. And puzzling why the chambermaid does not also refill the tea/coffee tray - a separate person came at a different time of the day for the replenishment. That is the only thing we didn't like much about your otherwise excellent hotel. We find a cup of tea any time of the day or night, us a habit and most English or Australian or New Zealanders will feel the same, is our opinion. Just remembered - the front desk charged us for breakfasts we neither required nor ate. The special deal was not inclusive of breakfast, so we ate out. Luckily I spotted the error before we paid.

It was a good location for a family - with double bed and two singles . There was also secure parking available on site .

The breakfast was a bit chaotic - with everyone arriving at the same time putting the limited staff under pressure to clear tables and get buffet breakfast replenished. Overall though it was achieved - you just needed a little patience !!

It was clean and hotel staff are very helpful. We were surprised that the sofa bed actually was convertible to two single beds. That was very good. The housekeeper also gave us (without being asked) additional towels and pillows the following day, perhaps realizing that there were kids staying in the room. We were grateful for this extra service at no extra charge.

The location of the hotel was good for visiting the castle and town.The hotel was comfortable and very clean with good size bedrooms. Staff spoke good English and were very helpful..

The breakfast was all or nothing. More information about local attractions other than the Palace would have been helpful.

Hotel is easy to reach. Near Versailles castle. Staff is friendly, but a few at reception speak poor English. Quality of food in general in the restaurant was good for a hotel.

I had severe stomach problems after eating raw tartare in the restaurant. Shame there isn't a lift from carpark to lobby.
