Proximity to Chateau de Versailles - 20 min walk. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Tea & coffee facilities in room. Car park under hotel - ask the hotel how to access it by car before you travel there.
Car park access by foot is by narrow stairs. Noise from the lifts in the room - very noisy at night and early morning. A long way to nearest train station - 30 min walk. Dinner in restaurant was ok but expensive.
Locality close to the chateau. Large comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast.
Because private parking was essential we were disappointed with lack of parking space and only stayed because the staff at the hotel went an extra mile to find us a parking spot.
Great food, good location, not too central. Staff: not so great. They really couldn't care less when it comes to service, but we still had a great time. Would stay again if reception staff actually pretended to give a damn about your stay.
location in Versailles. Food & drink. Friendly and helpful staff.
car park is very, very tight. rooms were too hot and no way to cool them down as there is no 'controlable' aircon.
The location was good and a straight forward walk to the palace, it does take about half an hour to walk there though, fortunately there is frequent buses to save the feet. Good selection of breakfast in the morning an very helpful staff on reception. They are even posting back a suit bag that got left behind .
We had dinner in the restaurant which I thought was a bit expensive for what it was and the service was a bit slow.
One mistake by the computer booked two nights in July at a time I was in Russia I complained about this as it cost me 450 POUNDS it should have been two nights in Aug not July they would not listen so it means the customer means nothing to them only their commission book direct with hotel in future and can still get a good deal
The location and the main facilities of the hotel were fine, the restaurant was good.
We booked a room with a double bed and 2 single beds and were given a room with double bed and a sofa bed, which had not been made up for our arrival. Our room had not been properly cleaned with an item of clothing left in the fold up bed and a bagged (and still unknown) item left in the safe. There was no milk in our room with the tea and coffee. After several complaints the staff offered us complimentary breakfast. We've always had good experiences with Novotel before, just unlucky this time.
The hotel was well positioned, quiet, what I'd expect for facilities, and the staff were excellent.
Within walking distance of the palace of versailles and easy to reach train station to commute to Paris.
The hotel is located within 10 minutes walk of the Chateau. It's also within easy reach of the main SNCF stations into the centre of Paris. Staff were attentive, accommodation comfortable and clean and food was good.
Prices in the bar were a bit expensive. There was no remote control for the TV in the bedroom. The safe in the bedroom didn't work (although the staff provided us with secure facilities behind reception).
It was in a nice quiet area close to the bus services. The staff were friendly and tried their best to be helpful.
The air condioning was not working properly which made the room uncomfortably hot. We were given a fan the next morning but this didn't help that much. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom. Although the room was clean, there were stains on the carpets and marks on the walls. Breakfast was far too expensive - we found it cheaper to eat elsewhere. The beds for my teenage children were pull out sofa beds, which were too small and quite uncomfortable. I wouldn't choose this hotel again. It was not worth the cost!!
Reasonable walk into north part of town. Cafes in Rue de Versaille and opposite
Booked months ago, but the hotel couldn't offer an evening meal on arrival and indicated room service would take a long time. Obviously they lacked adequate space for general restaurant as notices advised guests of periods when tables unlikely to be available. Coffee was awful.
Rude check in Shower did not work in 1st room safe would not open when we changed rooms Money taken with our credit card without asking how we would like to pay Minibar not fully stocked Only one breakfast tea bag a da
Great beds, excellent nights sleep, very friendly staff. But the walls seem pretty thin. If you happen to be near a noisy family or loud tv in the room, could be a problem
Comfort while travelling with small ( age 1&3 ) children was excellent, the staff was very helpful.
Breakfast was excellent, while dinner-portions where a tad small.
Friendly helpful staff, very clean hotel and brilliant breakfast.
At least 20 minute walk to train stations and the palace.
Location Breakfast Convenience Staff
The only thing I like was the location
Staff are not friendly like they hate their job the only team who are friendly are the cleaning people.Front desk staff, they lack communication with each other. Not a working team they will be glad to help but after helping you do not bother them they will not be to happy. No smile not a happy feeling Hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff Clean
Paying for parking The pull-out bed was uncomfortable Air conditioning not being cool enough in the summer
Breakfast was great value. Comfortable beds. Good size room Parking easy and convenient Really great staff
Very noisy through the night (exterior noises) No air conditioning Bit of a walk out of Versailles
Nice location, parking on site, mainly friendly staff.
Very warm rooms, with no individual air-con or even a fan, noisy through floors when other people in hotel made noise. Also a problem when they moved our room without telling us, moved all our stuff, then appeared to pretend we had forgotten our room number! Profuse apologies all round, but it was worrying and annoying as we found 'our' room safe open and empty in the new room, before we realized it was a different room.
Staff helpfullness, car parking
Adverised as air conditioning but it was not. Paying for car parking.
the facility in itself, room OK. Welcome of staff and location were OK too.
NO AIR CONDITIONING, on a hot day in Versailles. Very uncomfortable, the A/C had been repaired and to their knowledge was working. This was wrong. NO SUCCESS IN CALLING A CAB to the Chateau de Versailles when we had an 89 years old mother with us. Not acceptable, how can they not have some priority with cab companies. PARKING WAY TOO SMALL. Having to take our own car to the chateau (no cab....) we could not park when we came back at night (Late after the waterworks). ALTOGETHER, VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with a lot of hassles. We won't use the hotel again.
It was nice to have a room big enough for 3 people at a reasonable cost only 45 minutes (or 11 minutes by rapid train)from Paris. Since the metro /train only costs about 2 euro each way, it's much cheaper than staying in Paris if you need a bigger room. In addition, the breakfast is good.
I thought from looking at the map that the hotel was walking distance from the palace of Versailles. It is not! We stayed for the fireworks display and could not find a bus or a taxi afterwards. The hotel is a good 10 minute ride from the palace. It would have been easier to take the rer back to Paris. The station was only 2 blocks away. Since we are traveling with our daughter, I had hoped to be able to take a break before the evening performance so she could rest, but the hotel was too far away.
