It was a wonderful introduction to France to spend our fist nights in a charming chateau. Our hostess was kind enough to share the history of the house, which as an architect I found fascinating. Excellent Restaurants were recommended, booked and enjoyed during our short stay. We were a little saddened to see the Chapel dusty and neglected.

A surprising hotel - old and interesting with an excellent room and facilities. Super staff, very welcoming and helpful. We used it for the last day of the holiday before the trip back to Portsmouth - we would used it again.

This is one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed in. I am a frequent business traveller, all over the world, and I rarely receive such attentive and genuine service. The place ouzes character, and takes you back to a time when service really was everything. The owners are proud of the Colombiers history, and this shows in the way they manage it. It's perfect for a business meeting, or romantic break. Breakfast was very reasonable, followed by a walk down to the lake and if I'd had my clubs, theirs a driving range on-site and a club ten minutes away. St Malo old town is ten mins away, with a variety of places for lunch / dinner. If you want to escape for a couple of days and do some free thinking....this is the place.

If you want a hotel with no facilities, no staff, to stay on your own, drive 15mins every time you need some food or drink, then this is the place. Clearly there was a lot of focus on the grounds, but not on the customer experience within the Chateau. On arriving at the hotel we quickly realised we had made a huge mistake. A young lad manned the reception who tried to be helpful but could only manage basic English so he could not understand that our room was not the superior we had booked. No food or bar are available and the property was not staffed after 8.00pm. Although we had booked for 4 nights we were so disappointed that we decided to check out the following morning. Unfortunately at 7.30am there was no staff on site so left the keys with a note. Booking.com did their best to help but could not communicate with the hotel either! Avoid unless you want complete isolation.

Well, this does not really could qualify for a nice castle Heating not on when we arrived, then not working in one of the rooms. The receptionist was pretty rude and did not accept to change room... Very disapointing. Pretty bad service, not as good as in chateau de Bonaban. I am French, living in the usa, I had my in laws from Canada , I was extremely disapointed for their first experience in France in a "castle" Seriously if you are looking for an area where people will take care of you and will be smart, just go somewhere else.

We were the only couple staying and received a warm and friendly welcome. Fabulous location... Quiet and senic but close to St Malo ( 10 mins drive) a truly wonderful place if you like quality and attention to detail.. Not your usual " plastic box " hotel. Room was delightful and the breakfast superb. Well worth a visit and we will definately return.

The staff were very friendly, although the hotel operates a minimalist policy. We found it very French and very welcoming. The breakfast was self service but the french bread, croissants and orange juicedelicious No full time bar service.

The hotel was difficult to find but awe inspiring once we arrived. It has a great deal of charm, is fairly comfortable but the bathroom facilities were disappointing. The garden is wonderful and the whole environment is relaxing and very pleasant. It is a shame there is no restaurant as it is at least ten minutes and an expensive taxi ride from the centre of st Malo. There was a shortage of toilet roll in the bathroom. The toilet itself was plastic which did not fit with the rest of the surroundings. I had booked a room with bnath which I did not have which annoyed me.

Peace and quiet... Location was difficult to find on GPS. Even though they have the coordinates on their site many Car-GPSs don't have that facility to punch-in the numbers, so you end up in fields of corn or cows... But the locals know where it is so it was fine. The Street Address doesn't show up anywhere and the nearest main road is split by the motoway...

Interesting and quiet location. I obviously mis read the facilities offered as when I called to book a table for dinner I was advised that they do not have a restaurant. We did have a meal in San Malo, when I asked about distance when called I was advised a 5 minutes walk from the beach, this turned out to be a 12 minute drive. That to one side most concerning was that on return around 9:15 the hotel was in complete darkness with none of the facilities advertised on offer. Overall a disappointing end to our vacation.

The chateau is a little gem (very well) hidden in a labyrinth of narrow streets. But it's well worth looking for, because it's a special place to spend some days. It's an old house but somehow they managed to build an elevator (very welcome for travelers with heavy bags). The rooms are nicely decorated and the best part is the big livingroom where one can relax and drink tea, or play chess or read... Not to forget the garden that we didn't really get to enjoy because it was raining (but had some fruit from the garden for breakfast). There is no resturant nearby but thanks to a recommandation from the hotel we found this amazing restaurand called La Cale. The only thing that is a little annoying is driving through the narrow walled streets to get there, but for that you get a very quiet and peaceful stay

Our hosts explained the history of the Chateau on arrival and were very informative of the whole region and its origins. Room was beautiful and the decor throughout was very unique. Terrific gardens and close to St Malo. High recommendation for the choice of restaurants in Saint Servan.

Unique accommodation in a restored chateau with novelty value. Lovely gardens and grounds. Peaceful location some 10 minutes drive out of St Malo. Very helpful staff. Would return in certain circumstances but not if I was looking to stay in a more vibrant area. Rooms comfortable but tending towards basic, ie no tea/coffee making facilities, no room fridge/bar when there was also no bar available in the hotel, no safe. Isolated position and no staff or facilities ( dining room / bar ) available in the evening. For the cost of the room I would have expected more. I expected this hotel to be the highlight of the holiday but this was not the case.

We were using it as a last romantic night in France, before getting the ferry home from St Malo in the morning. A lovely country setting. A lot of history, our room was large and comfortable and was tastefully modernized. I enjoyed our stay and would have liked more time there No complaints, a bit pricy but we were aware of thison booking
