The hotel is a real chateau, and the owner very proud of it. They really take care of their guests. The rooms were extremely comfortable, large, warm and beautifully decorated. The park and lake are pretty, and you feel you are staying in someone's home. Friendly staff; however, it is more like a B and B, as staff are not there all the time. Breakfast only (but excellent breakfast). |

The location was lovely and had potential. The breakfast was quite nice. Needed lots of renovation, it was cold and although the building itself had appeal, it was cluttered and light in bedroom, was dangerous, with bare wires showing on the ceiling. The manageress was eccentric? Certainly not what I imagined it to be, would not go back. |

A quirky yet enjoyable hotel the packed plent yof traditional French charm. Ideally located for exploring the surrounding region. No restaurant although the owners did recommend a local restaurant called Le Calle which was fantastic |

The building is very quirky and interesting but grounds are very much a "work in progress". Staff are friendly and the receptionist (and pretty much everything else) was excellent. Setting is very quiet and peacefull. This is more a Manoir than a Chateau as it is quite small. It does not provide lunch or evening meals so cannot be classed as a hotel, and find it hard to see how it is rated 4 stars. Having now read the reviews that have been previously posted, I think that the majority share this view and most relevant comments have already been made. It should be made clear on booking that it is not all easy to find unless clear instuctions are given and followed, not even taxi drivers can find it. |

It has a very nice landscape, unfortunatly needs maintainance improvements, it is a pitty to see abandon the gardens arround the beautifull chateau that also needs paint . |

Quiet. Good size rooms. Plenty of parking. Secure. Very quaint hotel. A bit of history. Old fashioned. Garden in a dreadful state with rubbish all over the place .Breakfast was a bit old fashioned too. |

If you like something a little out of the ordinary, then Chateau Du Columbier is for you. Lovely setting with tranquil grounds. Beautiful room with view over the 'douve'. Furniture and fittings have been carefully chosen to be in keeping with the period. I could have spent a week just looking around the chateau! Breakfast room was charming. Fishing and mini golf available on site. Owner very friendly and helpful. A lovely spot for a romantic weekend away. A little off the beaten track, ( which I liked!) so need to drive out to town to eat. |

Leaving. We were very unhappy with the hotel. When we arrived it was very run-down and the gardens were overgrown and there were no facilities. The front desk shuts at 6pm when the receptionist goes home at which point you are given a key to the hotel front door. There is no restaurant, nor room service which we found very surprising given that this has a 4 star rating. We wanted to leave as the hotel is in the middle of the countryside and with no facilities and the curtains did not shut in the room (they are not wide enough by a foot) which kept us awake. The hotel would not let us leave without charging our room fee for the night so we had no option to stay despite our difficulties with the baby as a result of their lack of facilities. |

This renovation of an old Malouin chateau is a work in progress. It will have great potential when finished. Decent and fairly nicely appointed rooms and large grounds. But lots more work for the owners to do before this place reaches its potential Building still smells a bit mouldy and no restaurant facilities (other than breakfast) on site. Chateau is a 10 minute drive from civilisation - this is both a pro and a con. The owner believes it will take several years to build this up to its potential and we agree |

Receptionist was excellent, made you feel welcome. Most helpful in giving directions to town and ferry. Very adequate breakfast before departure. Would return as ambience was good. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was in a lovely setting and it was peaceful and quiet. The animals added a nice touch! It was also nice to chat to the owner and find out more of the history of the chateau Not really, but I do have some comments based on the fact that we do travel extensively. Breakfast At 12 euros was expensive for just bread, cereals and cheese. For that price they should be offering eggs, i.e. omelette and perhaps sliced meats. I would also have liked to be able to sit and have a drink in the lounge but there was no proper bar and the wine was expensive. |

The staff was extremely helpful and nice and the hotel was amazingly beautiful and luxurious. Would recommend it highly and would stay there again in a heartbeat. So relaxing and the food was fantastic. Can't say enough good things about it - we were blown away and very sad that we only stayed one night. No, but people should know that there are several dogs and cats (all very sweet), so if you don't like pets or are allergic, it might not be the right place for you. |

I hesitate to write a rave review in case others read it and everybody finds out about this gem of a hotel. It is a beautiful building in lots of space and quiet. Staff were warm and friendly and very helpful. Room was massive and nicely furnished. I loved it here and left completely revitalised. My only regret is I couldn't stay longer. I'll definitely be back in the future. No tea and coffee in the rooms. |
