Having to leave.
liked the entire experience, The chateau facilities were excellent, rooms were large and very clean. Carla was a fantastic hostess---prepared an excellent breakfast & recommended places to eat, wineries to see etc. She went out of her way to help my wife who had twisted her ankle--called the local pharmacy to arrange for a wheelchair, provide cold packs etc.
The location- rural and peaceful and halfway between Saint Emilion and Bordeaux. The Chateau itself is stunning. Our room was beautiful and charming. The bathroom was huge and luxurious. Gorgeous staff. AMAZING breakfast.
Nothing to dislike, it was perfect.
The ambiance was excellent and the host was such a beautiful person
-The warm welcome by Carla & miss Lady -Magnificent castle & garden -Very comfortable rooms with tastefully decorated interior -The silence -Amazing breakfast -Don't miss Carla's good advice for the restaurant (Le coq sauvage in St Loubès)
Beautiful chateau Delicious breakfast Friendly host
Cannot check in until 5pm. This may be a problem for people traveling in this beautiful area. This was not really clear to us so caused some consternation when we arrived at 2:30pm Breakfast is not served until 9 am so it is close to 10 am until you get going in the morning. Isolated area so you will have to travel at least 20-30 minutes to get anywhere. Be very careful if you have to get to Bordeaux airport from here. Anytime between 7-10am can mean this 25 mile trip can take about 2 hours...be very careful!
We had the entire Chateaux, pool and terrace to ourselves for a day as the other guests were out and only having six rooms, it feels incredibly private.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, room was beautiful, we enjoyed relaxing on the property, heated pool, host helpful
We liked everything about it:The ambience created by the owner, the friendly informal feel, the fabulous setting, the candlelit (yes, you read that right) breakfasts, sitting on the terrace and sharing a bottle of wine, talking to other guests, swimming in the magnificent pool, our sumptuous room, the way our dog was welcomed, the hospitality, which was second to none...I could go on and on!
We loved everything.
Carla the landlady was very friendly and accommodating, a lovely lady. The rooms were well appointed and charismatic, and very French. Thank you for a lovely few days.
Wifi Excellent ... Carla incredibly warm and generous with her hospitality shown all the guests. Pool ..warm clean and excellent loungers and umbrellas. Breakfasts were outstanding Rooms large and beds comfortable Located to explore the wider Bordeaux area. Excellent facility to have fridge for your cheeses etc. plates and cutlery available so you can enjoy the patio with snacks etc.
We arrived a little early but this was no problem, we were greeted warmly and shown to our room which was a beautiful suite on the second floor being spacious, clean and well positioned for great views. We walked around the chateau gardens which was easy and lovely to do as it showed this 14th century building at its best. We then had a dip in the pool to cool down also clean. The beds were very nice and the breakfast was without comparison as best we have had for a very long time, cooked to order and with everything you could want. We have stayed at some top hotels such as the Savoy in London and Ritz Carlton but have to say this is now our favourite hotel ever and we are already planning a return visit.
Nothing, all was excellent
Such a great experience staying at Chateau Lamothe Du Prince Noir. Highly recommended!
Suite was fantastic and grounds were great. Breakfast was excellent each day. Staff goes extra mile to attend to your needs and provide recommendations for activities.
Excellent breakfast Fantastic surroundings a lot of wineries around by bike Carla who really takes care of her guests
Excellent host & breakfast!
We had a most memorable stay at the Chateau Lamothe Du Prince Noire. The beauty of the property with its well-hold vegetation, the stillness in the evenings, the silence at night with shimmering stars and lengthy breakfasts at the terrace, accompanied by carps chewing and swans feeding will stay in my memory. We booked a attractive bed & breakfast hotel, but we got a place in your home, Carla. Thanks you! Highly recommended.
That I had to leave after only two days.
Building, room (especially bathroom), grounds.
Location. The neighbourhood was not hugely attractive. Some parts of building were a bit quirky. Ie doors, thin walls but it was very old
The welcome, the ambience, the Chateau
A little too remote from any restaurants etc.
Fabulous location, chateau and host. Couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay from where you can conveniently explore the Bordeaux region. Would highly recommend
Better than you can imagine. Carla was a great hostess. Our room was larger than expected and the bathroom was spectacular. It was probably the best Chateau we stayed in during our driving trip.
No Access to ice, but I had that problem all through Europe.
Rooms extremely comfortable and well decorated, high quality of bed linens and towels, great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
