We arrived a little early but this was no problem, we were greeted warmly and shown to our room which was a beautiful suite on the second floor being spacious, clean and well positioned for great views. We walked around the chateau gardens which was easy and lovely to do as it showed this 14th century building at its best. We then had a dip in the pool to cool down also clean. The beds were very nice and the breakfast was without comparison as best we have had for a very long time, cooked to order and with everything you could want. We have stayed at some top hotels such as the Savoy in London and Ritz Carlton but have to say this is now our favourite hotel ever and we are already planning a return visit.

    Nothing, all was excellent

We had a most memorable stay at the Chateau Lamothe Du Prince Noire. The beauty of the property with its well-hold vegetation, the stillness in the evenings, the silence at night with shimmering stars and lengthy breakfasts at the terrace, accompanied by carps chewing and swans feeding will stay in my memory. We booked a attractive bed & breakfast hotel, but we got a place in your home, Carla. Thanks you! Highly recommended.

That I had to leave after only two days.

    Building, room (especially bathroom), grounds.

Location. The neighbourhood was not hugely attractive. Some parts of building were a bit quirky. Ie doors, thin walls but it was very old

Better than you can imagine. Carla was a great hostess. Our room was larger than expected and the bathroom was spectacular. It was probably the best Chateau we stayed in during our driving trip.

No Access to ice, but I had that problem all through Europe.

Our hostess was kind, helpful, and extremely welcoming. The property is beautiful. We felt instantly at home. The bed was heavenly and we both slept deeply. The pool on the property is wonderful and bathed in afternoon sunlight and the property is close to many local attractions and restaurants. We look forward to coming back -- a must for any Bordeaux trip!

Everything, most incredible location, beautifully furnished and maintained. Great people led by Carla 'Madam Dynamo' who made us feel like family and makes the best breakfast you will ever have. Not to mention the attention to detail in the table linens and presentation. Perfection....spoil yourself, visit.

That took so long for us to find.

We arrived early on a bank holiday, eager to spend time at this wonderful place. Carla chastised us in good humour (she had just fed some other guests who had not found anywhere to eat due to places being closed!). Our room was palatial and supremely comfortable on the second floor and the rowing boat was quickly prepared for us,at Carla's suggestion, so we could row around the moat! The chateau is beautiful and Carla the perfect hostess, preparing the most lavish of breakfasts and dinners by request when possible. During our visit she was expecting her family so booked a nearby restaurant for us which was superb albeit a little "different"

    Having to leave!

Chateau La Mothe was an enchanting experience. Staying in a 13th century chateau with beautiful grounds, swans floating along gracefully in the mote, having a glass of wine, and some bread and cheese outside on the terrace made for an unforgettable experience. Carla is extraordinary - taking care of everything inside and outside the chateau. She is completely unflappable and thoroughly charming. The chateau is well located so that it is an easy drive to Bordeaux or St. Emilion for a dinner with many sites to see along the way. We look forward to returning someday.
