Location, bar/restaurant, terraces. Room size was good if somewhat dull decor. Breakfast buffet was extensive but expensive - better value was room service a la carte (unless you really must eat so much first thing), turn down and room service also punctual.
Having to pay for water in the room after the first night. The mattress was so thin and hard so as to give us both back ache. The bar menu didn't change over 4 days. The feeling that there was always an unnecessary wait because there were not enough staff in the bar or restaurant.
The staff were discreet but always there if you needed them. They were very polite at all times. Excellent service. Wonderful views. Prompt taxi service when needed , a super place to stay .
Nothing basically , the hotel deserves full marks . Well done to everyone who works there.
we liked the location, we liked the comfortable room, the forests around.
we didn't think that the breakfast deserved its high price, we were disappointed to have difficulties using the Internet in the room. As English speakers we could watch only one net.
Friendly staff, 40 minutes away from central paris, a great hideaway and a relaxing place for summer.
Setting, staff helpfulness, terrace
Restaurant menu was exactly the same each evening. Background music didn't seem to match the setting - as everything was named after classical composers and forms, classical music would have been a better match
the room with toile de jouy and other nice fabrics, good size, nice bathroom, quiet location, free parking, nice bar area
rather high price for room only; a business hotel with high restaurant prices, breakfast offer poor standard for 29 Euros; the stained toilet in our room; neither coffee/tea making facility in the room, nor bottled water but expensive minibar and room service (8 Euro for a coffee, the boiled water I needed for medicinal reasons 3x a day I would have to order from room service - for 8 Euros!); pool small and edges/grouting aged; no park/garden expected around a Chateau as hotel stands on a hill with a steep gravel path difficult to walk on; 25 Euro charge for small pet
staff very kind, food excellent, room spacious, balcony, outside bar, entrance hall, walking path
The reception is top class. Clean room, good bed, very quiet place. But the hotel has seen better days.
The parking is a bit messy. Scary lift, loud and sounds like it will die on you.The gastronomic restaurant is a beautiful place, but is not really gastronomic. We had a brasserie-style service, no sommelier, the three wines by the glass we had were mediocre, and the food was below average. Really overpriced.
This chateau is in the middle of a gorgeous private forest just next to the small town La Chapelle en Serval, just a few kilometres South of Chantilly and 15 minutes by car north of Charles de Gaulle airport. It is an elegant hotel with rooms that offer either a view of the surrounding forest and/or the castle and its rear courtyard. The beds are large and comfortable, the rooms elegantly decorated, and modern bathrooms with all the expected amenities. This hotel is a bit isolated, certainly not a place from which to walk to town, and thus is ideally suited for people who are driving a car and can get around independently. We ate a small meal in the bar, because the restaurant was busy with a private event, and food and service were fine. Many reviewers have complained about the prices, and they are indeed expensive, but not more than at other elegant establishments we visited. Tiara Chateau Mont Royal is expensive, period, and is not budget lodging. It certainly makes for a comfortable, elegant and very peaceful stay near CDG.
Location is a bit isolated, in the middle of a private forest, so it takes some effort to seek alternatives to the hotel's own quite expensive food, and you must have a car to get around.
Position Room Breakfast
Cost of Wine 29 euros for breakfast!
Great private hotel , made a great stop over on way from Calais to Paris
Very comfortable room.
Food expensive for the quality.
Chateau is beautifully maintained. Peaceful setting yet not too far away from Paris. Beautiful indoor pool.
Service is lacking on all levels. Reception staff cold and unresponsive. Light dinner in bar took 3 hours--we had to constantly ask for things we ordered which were forgotten by the server--and there were only two of us. Everything was excessively priced especially the breakfast which was very subpar and best avoided. Pool was packed until closing (11pm) with screaming children and babies. There should be hours where adults can enjoy the pool/spa undisturbed. Pool deck was left a mess of wet towels and floaties and remained so until the next morning. There is clearly a lack of proper management. What a shame!
The food was amazing. Location was beautiful Brunch not to be missed! I was travelling SOLO on a peaceful and relaxing weekend. The hotel is perfect for those young couples with a small baby or a couple of kids who are looking for a weekend retreat in style whilst in company of their little bundles of joy.
Swimming pool is small and as soon as some children go in goes really crowded. Spa is not precisely a place to relax. Better of going back to your room or to the Bar area. The ventilation machines sit outside the hotel in the garden/forest area, so if you are looking to sit outside you will hear noise instead of birds and nature... not too bad but perceivable if you are looking for peace.
Although the place was on the expensive side, it was well worth the money. Being driven through the dark woods and turning up the drive to see this palace was pretty exciting. The place is complete with a pool and spa which we spent a significant time in. We had dinner in their restaurant which again, although expensive, was the best I've had, and they went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our meal, and of course the Chantilly whipped cream was mind-blowing. They organised transport to take us to Chantilly proper to sightsee. The rooms were exquisite, and they even folded my 9 year old brother's clothes after he had strewn them everywhere in his rush to get his swimmers. We visited over winter, and so it was quiet, but this only added to the appeal. I definitely recommend visiting, and I will be returning
The hotel was so lovely. I had an excellent room. The staff was friendly and competent. The room (and bathroom) were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also, it is convenient to CDG airport. I plan on making this hotel my 'usual' stop while in Paris.
I enjoyed everything.
Very comfortable room. Had a long and tiring trip so was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. Staff were very friendly and professional. Nice breakfast buffet
There was a leak in my room coming from the skylight as it was raining. Had to use the room's bins to not get the whole carpet wet, couldn't be bothered to move rooms as I was so tired from the trip
Fire alarm going off at 2 am due to fault in the system
Loved the quality service, bedroom interiors and beautiful gourmet food.
No kettle in the room meant every time we wanted a coffee we had to get expensive room service which is ridiculous.
The lovely premises. The room. The feel of the place. Everything in the room was great.
The food in the restaurant was overpriced for what it was.
A quiet and confortable room
being kept waiting 20 minutes whilst four receptionists all doing nothing tried to find my booking.com reservation with the rudeness and neglect that is a disgrace in a four star hotel - a smile or apology would suffice but was lacking. Also had to change rooms due to poor wifi signal and the 'gym' of three machines was a joke and not airconditioned. Customer service training is needed here
There are no coffee facilities in the rooms, and coffee from room service is 8 euros each. At this 4 star plus level, I expect coffee facilities in the rooms.
Very clean, quiet, close to other historical sites. Also close to CDG.
