Chateau Pomys is an elegant classic French chateau set in beautiful Bordeaux countryside. The hotel is comfortable, clean and a pleasant place to stay. The decor is shabby chic style and quite minimalistic. My son and I were visiting Bordeaux and we chose to stay at the Chateau Pomys as it was fairly close to Bordeaux (about 50 minutes drive to the city centre), good value and had received some good reviews which we found to be quite accurate. We stayed there for two nights and had dinner on the first evening which was excellent. The 2003 Chateau Pomys Claret was very very good. Breakfast was a bit basic. Only two staff there but both very good. We received a warm welcome when we arrived. I would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again but I was not that impressed with St Estephe or the surrounding area. Can't really criticise the hotel. If I was running it I would change the furniture in the dining room and convert the room they use for breakfast into a lunge area.

Pomys has a nice chateau/country house hotel feel. Not overly grand, but it feels the part. The second floor 'superior' room, and it's bed, were huge, with the bathroom and WC in two separate en-suite rooms. The room spanned two windows, with views over a lovely, if informal, garden with vines beyond and the Gironde estuary in the distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful - not at all impersonal as we had thought might be the case in a "chateau" hotel. The breakfast was just average, but the dinners were excellent, and on the Friday were bringing in some of the locals. We tried both of the in-house clarets (Ch St Estephe and Ch Pomys) in a couple of different vintages. All were good value. The bathroom fittings and bedroom furniture were all a little dated, but nonetheless in good condition.

The hotel is unpretentious, the staff helpful and welcoming and although the room was not luxurious, it was clean and comfortable and the views of the garden from the double aspected room were delightful. The evening meal was very good indeed and with only few covers, the ambience was intimate; we enjoyed a bottle of the chateau's own wine, although it doesn't come cheap. We would definitely book the hotel again.

very clean and well designed rooms being cleaned every day! Restaurant very nice with a very professional and attentive waiter. The co-location of the winery was interesting for us. the wi-fi connection was not really that good. For a rainy day the lounge would be inadequate.

A very pleasant chateau in ST.Estephe so good for a wine trip. Rooms a little small for the price. Everything very clean and the gentleman on reception was very good but a bit overwhelmed with all the work he seemed to do. Dinner very good and the wine very good. With bait more work this could be very good indeed but still needs some investment. Chateau Meyre was much more up to speed with rooms and service even though it did not have a restaurant. More personnel needed for reception work and serving drinks etc outside of dining hours.

An absolutely beautiful setting. Very well-kept room with nice furniture, nice bathroom. Gorgeous terrace for eating breakfast, nice grounds for wandering and taking in scenery (our 7-month-old loved the chicken coop!). A bit slow to drive from the city of Bordeaux. It is not that far (about 50 km), but the road is small and can have a lot of traffic. Also note that vineyards are closed for tastings on the weekend, so there's not much going on in the nearby town of Pauillac on the weekends.

A warm and welcoming hotel located in middle of the Medoc area very close to the well known wine chateaus. Very good food served in the restaurant, high quality own wine lables. The breakfast was fine, but missing some extra plates for self service. At the table high quality cups against poor quality knifes.....The rooms are missing coffee making facilities......
