Located in the heart of the Beaujolais, the Château de Bagnols, is an historical monument, as well as a prestigious hotel-restaurant. Each room and suite has been exclusively decorated with antiques and mural paintings, which have been painstakingly restored. For a unique candle lit dinner, the fine dinning restaurant of the Château serves a refined cuisne in front of one of the largest gotic chimney's in Europe. To complete your stay, other facilities are available as a roman swimming pool, a garden "à la française", vineyards, golf and hot air ballooning promenades. We loved our room and also the view over the countryside from the hotel. There was some confusion over our name (my first name had been understood to be my last name!) so upon arrival we were told that there was no record of our reservation. Also, similarly, there was a bit of a problem persuading someone to open the gate so we could drive in with our car!

Major historic presence, wonderful restoration. The ambience was terrific- just being t here and dining there gave a great feeling of t he history of the chateaau and t he region. Lunch on t he terrace and dinner in the salle des armes was great though the cuisine really was not up to the st andards one would expect in such a special and expensive venue. disappointed in the cuisine when we stayed there 20 years ago and this time as well. Needs a spa.
