Located in a magnificent setting, in the heart of the Mâcon vineyards, the Château de la Barge, which dates back to 1679, is a splendid place to stop on your vacation. It is also an ideal location for receptions, business dinners and seminars. Worth a visit: the Solutré rock, the 65 villages on the Mâcon-Beaujolais wine route, the Roman churches (Cluny, Tournus, etc.), the wine museum, Pierreclos château and Cormatin château, where the poet Lamartine, a native of the region, stayed. Very well located near motorway and vignards of St.Amour. Nice rooms with good mixture of old traditional and new design... Unacceptable the waiters are also answering telephone calls at reception. Telefon is making an noisy atmosphere during dinner.

We were overnighting on our way to ski so the proximity to the Autoroute was of prime importance to us. Although it did not spoil our stay we were expecting our bedroom to be more traditional, i.e. in keeping with a Chateau

Chateau de la Barge is the kind of hotel you dream of while traveling the autoroute for more than 8 hours. Hospitable, nice clean rooms, free WiFi and most of all the excellent restaurant. We already gave up France as being a culinary top region of Europe (except for utterly expensive 3 michelinstar restaurants) but after dining in the restaurant of Chateau de la Barge we changed our minds. Very good quality for a reasonable price! Vive la France and vive la Bourgogne!! We can recommend this hotel to all travelers.

The polite and courteous attention of the staff. The overall ambience of the auberge. An auberge that we have frquently visited since the 1980's The proliferation of the mini marquees at the delightful frontage of the auberge.

Very good dining experience in restaurant. Easy to find and park. Staff generally very helpful but checkout service a little slow. Room in attic and accessed via an (uncleaned) meeting room - room cleaning had also missed a few things in our room. Weak touches.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant was wonderful- great food and wine selections. Our waiter at dinner congratulated us on our 25th anniversary, which very few hotels did during our very long celebratory trip. The staff was wonderful, and most spoke very good English. Nice pool. We weren't very happy with our room, but we went with one of the least expensive rooms on the second floor- small, a bit dark, very austere. For 143 Euros (incl. Breakfast), maybe we shouldn't have expected more, but we did. The more upper scale rooms on the first floor looked wonderful.

Tres bonne table, le personnel est très bien. Décoration salle sympa allie ancien et moderne. Décoration de la chambre le pigeonnier, pour un wkend en amoureux, chambre tres triste aucun romantisme, décoration franchement à revoir. Dommage car pièce bien aménagée douche spa excellente. Pas vraiement un chateau je dirai une belle demeure du Maconnais

Besonders gut hat uns die Lage und das Essen gefallen. Die Schiebetür zum Bad konnte nicht geschlossen werden, wurde aber sofort nach unserer Reklamation repariert.
