We thought that it an oasis in a busy town. We found it quiet and the restuarant was excellent (decor, staff, food, service). We stayed in the orangery (?) and found the room a little small but very comfortable and tastefully decorated but missed any coffee/tea making facilities. Also, we found we couldn't have room service. We had a good experience and would recommend it to others.

The chateau was lovely. The reception rooms were very nice and the coffee was very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was a fantastic price and the breakfast was really lovely, as was the breakfast room. The location was quite hard to find. Even with detailed instructions it took a long time to find the chateau. The most disappointing thing of all was that although we booked to stay in the chateau we were put in a room in the Orangerie and not the chateau at all. If you are going to stay and expect the chateau then make sure you specify that you want a room in the chateau before you arrive, just to be sure.

The location is excelent, even for passing through. The state of the room was rather outdated and really needs some updating. Especially when staying at the ''Greenery building'' the bathrooms need a serious renovation.

The restaurant was excellent. We were placed in the "Orangerie" (annex building) where a wedding reception was underway when we arrived: This made us feel slightl uncomfortable as we had to walk back and forth through the guests.

We weren't sure what to expect after reading some of the other reviews but we liked the friendly & helpful staff, the size of the room (no 6 in the main chateau rather than the Orangerie) and the character of the place. Yes it is a little tired in places but this didn't detract anything & was a welcome change from the bland chain hotels. We also really liked the food & wine in the restauarant on site - choosing 2 courses from the a la carte menu rather than the 3 course set menu. Superb chocolate dessert! Location was not a problem - we walked into the town without any concerns.

There is little traffic noise On booking a discount was offered: "only two available". In fact, the hotel was almost empty and the price we paid was the regular price. Rooms are not in the Chateau - a musky old building in poor repair - but in the "Orangerie" - a side building that seems to have been put together for summer use only using cheapest materials. Furnishings and fittings are very cheap also, uncomfortable beds, the bathtub wouldn't empty, two light bulbs were broken. Closed space toilet without handwashbasin and ventilation not working. In summary, the place felt a bit like an improvised theatre stage in poor repair. Instant coffee for breakfast. I am astounded about the high ratings this place has apparently received. I wonder whether the ratings are manipulated. To me, this hotel is an 'internet trap'. First time I say this about a booking I made on booking.com.

It's always good to see old buildings that have fallen into disuse find a rescuer and resuscitate its spirit. The Chateau is a lovely building which has been converted into a comfortable hotel, with an attractive restaurant in the old cellars. We stayed in comfortable and reasonably sized rooms in an out building. After a long day's cycle ride, I was happy to find a good shower and a comfortable bed. I had a good, but not exceptional dinner in the restaurant. Good breakfast the following morning.

The typical Frenchness of the hotel, forget the approach to the hotel once in the the front gates you are in an oasis of 19th century, the douves restaurant is excellent though some courses are far better value for money. We stayed two nights and the food was very good on both nights.we found the breakfast also very good, remember you are in France do not expect bacon and eggs but the croissant and pain au chocalat were morish together with fresh yogurt offered good value for 10 euros The lack of tea making facility, The decorations are tired but reflect a bygone time which is not always a negative

We were offered an upgrade to stay in the chateau which we did. Our room was excellent, spacious, well decorated, clean. We thought it was excellent value. We went to the restaurant but it was a limited menu as it was a Sunday night so we can't really comment on the usual standard but we thought the restaurant was very attractive.

The Staff is very nice. Nature around is beautiful. Breakfast was quite poor for a 3 star hotel. The room (l'Orangerie) was not in the castle and looked poor for the price we paid. Also there was a nasty smell outside (probably from the fields or a farm). But no smell when in the hotel.
