The Château Des Ormeaux is located in a beautiful and peaceful natural setting, close to the charming town of Amboise, near vineyards and offers a warm, authentic atmosphere. The chateau is surrounded by a 62-acre park with its own swimming pool, caves and vineyard. Decorated in warm colors, the antique-furnished rooms overlook magnificent Loire Valley landscapes. Each room has a private bathroom and toilet with either a shower or bath. Relax in the bright and comfortable sitting room. From its large windows, enjoy a superb view of the park and the valley. In winter, stay warm and cozy near the fireplace. Hotel Rooms: 9

The Chateau is just lovely - the rooms were well decorated, the bathrooms are very modern, the breakfasts were delicious and the hosts are very warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend Chateau des Ormeaux to friends.

We arrived at the hotel without a car on a public holiday - very bad timing. Do hire a car before you leave, we were guided by web reviews to think we didn't need to. Eric was phenomenal. He went above and beyond all measures of hotel courtesy to help us get a car the next day, even so far as making an emergency dash to the train station to go to St Pierre to collect our car. Lf it wasn't for Eric we could have had a hard time getting around - you really need a car. Amboise is just a beautiful village and the chateau is a great place to position yourself in the Loire valley. L would recommend anyone to stay with Eric and company at Château Des Ormeaux. Thanks a million you're the best ! Andy & Peter

The hosts, Eric and Emmanuel, are excellent. Great, personal welcome to a lovingly restored chateau. The place oozes old-world charm and must be taken in that context. The setting is terrific as a base from which to explore the beauty of the chateaux of the Loire Valley. Chateau des Ormeaux is a truly charming hotel providing excellent accommodation......my wife and I are very happy to have had the opportunity to stay there.

Location and the property are excellent The bath tube had old stains. The toilet did not flash properly. For a luxury room at 170 euro per night, this is not right.

This is a charming property that has been been thoughtfully brought to modern standards. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have spent more than a rather hurried overnight. An old property like this takes lots of loving care and can, no doubt be overwhelming to maintain. It seemed like more attention to the grounds would have made the chateau even more lovely.

I chose the chateau because my wife and I were honeymooning and I wanted at least 1 or 2 nights in something resembling a castle. Chateau des Ormeaux met or exceeded all my expectations and we both had a fabulous stay there in the Couperin Room. The staff were chrming but unobtrusive, the chateaux was amazing and the breakfast was the best we had in our 3 weeks in Europe. We also met some lovely people also staying there and the stay was probably the highlight of our trip. Nothing really comes to mind. We did have some difficulties even with our GPS finding the chateau so maybe a map with directions into Amboise could help, but then again getting lost is part of the fun of a European trip

I just loved the whole experience. The buildings are quite old and the surroundings seems like they have been forgotten for a while but that is just "part of the package". It is quite and lovely and the person we met, Eric, is warm and friendly and speaks excellent English. All the guests have breakfast at a large table in the old dining room which I found interesting. I would definitely go there again if I am in the surroundings.

it is advertised as a "chateau" and really it is only a small manor house in need of repair. we cut our stay short as it was nothing like what was advertised.

This was one of the best places we've ever stayd in. Charming surroundings, beautiful architecture and decor and an extremly picturesc setting. Eric, Emanuelle and Dominiq are the three best hoasts that we,ve come across. They run the chateau, it's their home but when we stayed there we felt as if it was ours aswell. We spent our honeymoon there and it was like a dream. You have acces to almost the whole place, from the salon, where you can play the piano, chess, watch tv or browse the net, to the swiming pool, wineyard and park. We recommend you rent a car to fully enjoy the whole of the Loire Valley. It's about 44éuros a day and if you rent a small clio, gas won't realy be an issue. Or you can rent bikes for 15 Euro a day... Your choice! We were geniunly impressed! It's an inspirational and quiet place, an artists heaven!

I loved the chateau. Beautiful old castle, fairytale like in its appearance. Beautiful terraces and pool looking out at forest and meadows. Spacious rooms and bath. Wonderful breakfast included in price of room. Kind and helpful hosts. Close drive to all of the chateaus. 10 minutes from Ambois where there are a lot of restaurants. bed linens are a bit tired. Wifi spotty in designated room for connection.

For lazy days along the Loire river, or as a residence while exploring the famous chateaus along in Loire valley, You will find few B&Bs of better quality than the Chateau des Ormeaux. Mind you, it is not new and flashy, but hold all the atmosphere You would expect from a French Country residence. Combine that with a host who genially wants to help You and speak English, and You now have the essence of Chateau des Ormeaux. The nearby town of Amboise is also a small gem. Streets lined with old houses, fair prices and a few restaurants which serves top quality. We recommend L'Alliance. Entrance to the chateau can be difficult to spot. You must enter from the d1. A lit plague at the gate will ease spotting then entrance when it is dark.

We loved everything about Chateau Des Ormeaux. The staff were so friendly , they recommended things to dinner and made us dinner reservations. We had one of our best meals in France while visiting Amboise. The rooms were glorious and so spacious. the pool was beautiful, I could have stayed longer than the 4 days we had.
