The Château Des Ormeaux is located in a beautiful and peaceful natural setting, close to the charming town of Amboise, near vineyards and offers a warm, authentic atmosphere. The chateau is surrounded by a 62-acre park with its own swimming pool, caves and vineyard. Decorated in warm colors, the antique-furnished rooms overlook magnificent Loire Valley landscapes. Each room has a private bathroom and toilet with either a shower or bath. Relax in the bright and comfortable sitting room. From its large windows, enjoy a superb view of the park and the valley. In winter, stay warm and cozy near the fireplace. Hotel Rooms: 9

Completely fulfilled our expectations of staying overnight in a chateaux in the Loire River valley; great ambiance; captured the character of the historical countryside elegance; wonderful and friendly reception; beautiful, charming, comfortable facilities; outstanding breakfast; great recommendations for restaurants and day trips. Best part of our 10 day holiday in France, Belgium, Holland. Had trouble locating the Chateaux using GPS...accurate location not provided on the registration confirmation...this was frustrating and challening for first time auto rental drivers in French countryside.

friendly staff from the moment we arrived, Each of them gave us individual attention and care. The girls loved spending the night in a real chateau....couldn't get over the size of the bathrooms. Nohing that we didn't like but unfortunately we did not have transport as we were only staying overnight. A bus service would have helped save the euros we spent on taxis.

We splurged and got the big room for our one night's stay and it was lovely. The heating worked really well, the chateau itself is beautiful and the modern bathroom was great. The man who greeted us was nice enough but compared to other places we've stayed at he didn't measure up. The shower leaked - not a problem for us to shower though more for them really. The breakfast was good, didn't enjoy being at one big table with everyone else though. Prefer individual tables myself. For the price I would've expected a bit more on offer at the table. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it's probably not something I'd do again compared to other cheaper places that go out of their way to help you and provide much greater range at breakfast. Ifyourelooking for the experience of staying in a chateau then this one is good enough.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We didn't arrive until late at night but on phoning to advise that we were delayed, they were more than happy to wait up for us. Our room was very well presented, and very comfortable. One interesting feature that we actually quite liked (although others may see this as a disadvantage) is that there was no TV in the room at all. It made for a nice break and we would happily go back.

Besides the special feeling of living in a chateau with its history and centuries-old but lavish furnishings, etc it was extra interesting because of its trogolodytic architecture. Although the continental breakfast was excellent it would have been good to have dinner in the lavish surroundings but we had to drive 15 minutes to the nearest restaurant.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Chateau des Ormeaux with our adult daughters. We stayed in the Debussy Ravel Suite, which has 2 connecting rooms and 2 bathrooms. Our rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. A delicious breakfast was included in the price. The chateau is beautiful, and it was wonderful to relax in the salon after a day of sightseeing. The owners spoke English and were helpful and interesting to talk to. We also spent some time wandering around the grounds of the castle, accompanied by the owners' very friendly dog, Vic. I would definitely stay here again. Our suite was on the top floor of the chateau, and while we liked the spiral staircase (and the beautiful view from the top floor) it may be difficult for some people to walk up those stairs, especially carrying luggage. Rooms on the lower floor may be more appropriate. The chateau is also only a few minutes from Amboise by car, but was not within walking distance. We decided to rent a car and a GPS. The chateau was not difficult to find, but the GPS helped, and we preferred the more secluded location of the chateau.

The hosts, Eric and Emmanuel, are excellent. Great, personal welcome to a lovingly restored chateau. The place oozes old-world charm and must be taken in that context. The setting is terrific as a base from which to explore the beauty of the chateaux of the Loire Valley. Chateau des Ormeaux is a truly charming hotel providing excellent accommodation......my wife and I are very happy to have had the opportunity to stay there.

This is a charming property that has been been thoughtfully brought to modern standards. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have spent more than a rather hurried overnight. An old property like this takes lots of loving care and can, no doubt be overwhelming to maintain. It seemed like more attention to the grounds would have made the chateau even more lovely.

I chose the chateau because my wife and I were honeymooning and I wanted at least 1 or 2 nights in something resembling a castle. Chateau des Ormeaux met or exceeded all my expectations and we both had a fabulous stay there in the Couperin Room. The staff were chrming but unobtrusive, the chateaux was amazing and the breakfast was the best we had in our 3 weeks in Europe. We also met some lovely people also staying there and the stay was probably the highlight of our trip. Nothing really comes to mind. We did have some difficulties even with our GPS finding the chateau so maybe a map with directions into Amboise could help, but then again getting lost is part of the fun of a European trip

I just loved the whole experience. The buildings are quite old and the surroundings seems like they have been forgotten for a while but that is just "part of the package". It is quite and lovely and the person we met, Eric, is warm and friendly and speaks excellent English. All the guests have breakfast at a large table in the old dining room which I found interesting. I would definitely go there again if I am in the surroundings.
