We booked the classic double room in the Chateaux, supposedly to be 20 square meters, but were shown to a dark room in the aisle of the Chateaux, above the car parking. Entrance was through the car/bicycles parking, onto a tiny staircases that get smaller you won't fit in if you are a large person. The staircases looked dingy and boarded up on one side, definitely not a Chateaux feel at all if you stay there. Best to book the Orangery, forget the classic rooms. It seems that you will be put in these dingy Chateaux rooms if book for one night only or last minutes, so beware. After complaining, we were put in a room within the Chateaux with an entrance past the grand staircases then the fabulous lounges onto a smaller staircase up one floor. The room was then similar to what was on the picture, called Henriette. Then we were happy and ordered the house Champagne, but a bit distressed prior to that.
The restaurant seems expensive but is actually a fantastic value, and you get lots of little tasters, all menu include a cheese course. Friendly maître d'hôtel sommelier. And the cheese trolley has 11 good French cheeses to choose from.
