The free room upgrade was positive. Price vs Quality is the worst expierenced so far! For 2 nights I paid 1450 EUR for 2 standard rooms (210E/ room), breakfast, and dinner. A total rip-off! At breakfast e.g. the salmon was drying out on the corners for being displayed for many days without refreshing, the fruit salad was not fresh, scrambled eggs were the worst ever seen, to name a few... At dinner we were served by a female Charlie Chaplin and a 16 yrs old boy who hardly spoke English. The place is no 4-star worthy, an antique building has its charm, but losses it instantly when it is not well preserved! E.g. amenities like hair-dryers are and look older then my mother, old stains are all over the bathroom, the Spa/pool is out-dated, and the property seriously needs a paint job. All in all, a big disappointment!

Everything? It was not our first visit so we knew what we could expect. It's worth the money you pay. The fact that we had to leave?

While a little pricey, the hotel offers an unusual experience in staying at a chateau in the middle of a lovely wine region. We received a room upgrade at no additional charge and our stay proved to be quite comforatble. The setting of the hotel is superb, on a hill overlooking the town and in the middle of vineyards. The excellent spa was an unexpected surprise The chateau restaurant was a disaster for us. While the quality of the food was excellent, the service was abominable. First there was a mix-up on our order. When the wrong dish was presented, the server had the nerve to ask if we were sure we had not ordered it. At least the correct dish was promptly provided. Secondly, we are used to spending considerable time at table to enjoy a leasurely meal, but three hours to serve essentially three courses!! The final insult was the bill. Not only did it include the dish we had not ordered, but they double charged for a cheese course that was included with a menu selection. The attempted overcharge came to nearly 50 Euros. Tip? Forget it.The only bright spot was the sommelier who made an excellent wine recommendation.

Attractive and peaceful setting overlooking the village below and surrounded by vineyards. Comfortable lounge bar. Probably a great venue in good weather as superlbly placed for the wine route. Sadly did not live up to our expectations. The bed was less than comfortable, having no duvet/s and poor quality pillows. The bathroom/toilet was extrmely small. Good spa facilities but sadly the sauna/steam room was not hot at 08:00 in a morning.

Friendly staff, well organized, nice view, excellent wine and restaurant, parking, spa facilities. Will be back! The village of Rouffach is not so interesting ... (but not a problem because the hotel has a lot to offer)

Staff very friendly. Marvelous setting - stunning views over the village and the Rhine valley. Food is excellent both at dinner and breakfast with food and wine locally sourced. Hotel decor getting a bit tired given the price

The food and the staff that helped us out on the second night because of noise levels, The staff went out of their way to accommodate and make us very happy. They could not have been more gracious and we really appreciated it... In the small rooms, the walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the next room

Nice view from the restaurant teracce. Our room in the pavillon Nathilde was small and dark. The hotel facilies (rooms, pool, spa) look like have been cheeply constructed 1970 and never renovated afterwards. One pool lighting was floating (!) in the water so we were affraid going into water. The restaurant is not what you expect for it's pricing. The food quality is mediocre. The service nice but understuffed. We had to wait long for the food. I was told that all peper mills are off etc. The réception stuff is nice but I was asked six times (!) the same question about a canceled night allthough every time I explained the situation I was told the issue would be ok. All in one: The hotel is not worth it's price and reputation.

Leaving Over priced - 3 star hotel with 5 star prices. Evening dinner cost 150 euros and was nothing special. 1 night stopover on way to Italy = 532 euros...there are plenty of other places to stopover in France that are far better and don't cost this much

This hotel was so family friendly. We had our 11 mth old and they were so accomodating. They allowed us to bring herinto the restuarant on the first night and we got a babysitter on the second night and she was great. Food was so so good. Excellent stay, thanks for a greta Easter and the easter hunt on Sunday morning :o)

“The staff was wonderful and very accomodating. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The children enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was very very good. Our party included people from 5-75 and the hotel met the needs of all ages. Very easy access to Colmar and the highway. I would definitely stay there again and not hesitate to recommend it. ” Larry, Mehlbach |
