While the room was spotlessly clean, the balcony had not been cleaned in a while, if ever. Even the windows were kinda stuck and seemed too feeble to open. There was a double glass window, which must be great for winter, but in the late days of summer (can't imagine IN ACTUAL MID SUMMER) and since there's no air conditioning, opening them gets kinda important. It would have been nice to step out in the balcony and get some fresh air, but the dirt and various cigarette butts were discouraging.
While this hotel has its own parking, it's not right at the entrance and you had to tell the person in the reception if you are going in or out, which can be a bit of a bother if you are picky.
I am not, so I was perfectly happy with the arrangement.
Also, the room doesn't have a safe.
We arrived on the weekend, there just one member of staff who took care of absolutely everything. And she was very efficient at it, and kind too, even when she had to do the check in, open the garage doors...
Don't feel threatened by the very humble entrance. It's a good hotel, basic, clean and comfortable, in a great street, close to the station, to the cathedral, and not too far from the old city.
I didn't see any restaurants around, and it was a slow sunday, so I'm not sure about that, but since the trains station is really close by, I'm sure you can find somewhere to eat nearby, if you don't want to walk all the way back from the lovely, busy and bar/restaurant-crowded old city.
