L'Azur Hotel Citotel  

This hotel was quite a surprise! A delightful and welcoming hotel near the village of Oradour sur Glan in St Junien. It is very well run, relaxed and the accommodation very good as is the restaurant/ bar The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and the rooms very large and comfortable.The hotel is situated on spacious grounds and very secure. Excellent value for money in both the hotel and the restaurant. Our pup was welcomed also!

I would suggest that air-conditioning in the rooms would be a great comfort in summer. Ceiling fans could be a good alternative.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious, quiet, warm and very clean. The parking was easy and secure. The location was very easy and accessible for road links.

Anne, the receptionist on duty when we arrived, could not have been more helpful and efficient and she even asked us if we wanted to speak French or English. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her and we enjoyed our one night stay immensely. Even though the hotel is modern and might look like a budget hotel, the space and comfort in the rooms is far from budget. At the end of our trip my partner and I discussed the hotels that we'd stayed at and, even though there were some pretty expensive places on that list, we found the overall comfort best at the Citotel St-Junien. Much of our enjoyment of this one-nighter was due to the attitude and unobtrusive efficiency of our new friend Anne.

Don't let the initial sight of the place put you off. It is modern but the way it is run dispels all doubts you may have as you drive through the gates. There are many hotels that could learn lessons from this one.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean comfortable and extremely spacious.

Disappointed the restaurant was not open for evening meal and had gtrouble finding anywhere local to eat.

Paid extra for suite with large bed which was good. Room very clean. Quiet. Didn't use restaurant in the evening but breakfast was ok.

At the far end of an industrial estate, so was quite difficult to find.
