Check-in was simple and efficient. Staff not too helpful. Receptionist, although knowing some English, only used it as last resort. I had to use my limited knowledge of French to try and communicate for most of the time. Very limited menu for evening meal in restaurant, with staff not too helpful. It was clean; the people were welcoming and helpful; the food was fine. We were very pleasantly surprised, because other reviews had damned it - without cause, we found. We suggest that those reviewers who were angry that the management 'didn't speak a word of English' should perhaps holiday in England next year! What appalling arrogance! Swimming pool full of leaves etc floating on it, which he later started to clean up, could not connect to free wifi on laptop or my blackberry. They were welcoming, helpful, and very accommodating and flexible, yet let us enjoy our time in privacy. A lovely hotel in a lovely city which we would happily visit again. And the location is ideal, right next to the Marais (public marshland gardens) and with a great view of the stunning Bourges cathedral. ”
