The hotel is easily accessible and in easy distance to the historical sights, the shopping district. The parking facilities are good and safety evident. The reception of the hotel could not find our resevation and therefore we got a room that was not to our liking (under the roof and practically no windows. |

Good location. Very friendly staff -until we started having problems with the rooms... Our room smelled strongly of paint, after our complaint we were given a room that obviously had a damp problem -"no other room available". What a choice in a 4-star hotel! Horrible mass tourism lay-up, so sad in a beautiful historical building.Clumsy lift arrangement. |

Convenient situation. Generally good conversion of very old building. We found the arrangement of two level room very inconvenient. Furniture sparce - ie no bedside tables. Shower had no grab handle or anti-slip mat. Cost of Breakfast excessive. |

We really enjoy the swimmimg pool even if it is a small one. Swimmimg on the roof.... very nice after a very hot walk in the town. We were disappointed by our room. Poor quality of the bathroom (old shower but powerful, no protection for the splash of the water on your body so floor flooded.... windows directly on a roof in a court with no view. very simple decoration... So ask for the best rooms.... |

Hotel had character, an interesting building. soundproofing of rooms in old section of hotel was not good through the party-door, we heard the person coughing all night in the room next door. But couldn't hear tv or conversation and room was lovely. |

The hotel is a beautiful building. The restaurant was great. The location is great (to the center train station and the town). The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the elevator was broken when I was there, which made it difficult with my bag. I didn't like that there was no shower (there was a bath with a snake shower head) and the water came out brown at first. And the breakfast really was disappointing. I had known about it from other traveller reviews, and it really was that disappointing. |

Location was the only aspect of this hotel which we appreciated. The receptionist gave us hope as she was warm and friendly when we arrived. However, she displayed her true disinterested colours when asked a few basic questions regarding local information. The two rooms we were alocated turned out to be attic type rooms with small internal stairs which were extremely difficult to negotiate with the large amount of luggage we carried. Consierge was busy when we arrived so we struggled on our own. The free in room wifi advertised on the internet was non-existant in our room and needed to be conducted out in the hallway of a lower floor. |

Location was excellent, secure parking. Standard rooms are in some kind of annex building which is a bit like a battery hen house (nothing remotely cloister like). Strange set up of the room (bath room is not even separated from the sleeping area, just a thin glass partial wall, no doors - lack of privacy). Very noisy airconditioning. |

The good location for sightseeing and transportation, comfortable atmosphere for staying, and historical and quaint construction and garden are really great. Our room type was long and narrow, so we had to walk a lot in the room to do everything. For example, using the bathroom, the desk, the closet and so on. |

The beautiful and relaxing surroundings. The lack of a non-slip bath mat or safety grips in the bath/shower, and that the swimming pool is not open until May. |

The very helpful staff who assisted us when we discovered, just as we were checking out, that there was a national rail strike affecting all trains throughout france. This meant that our TGV to Paris was cancelled and we would need to saty in Avignon a further night. Arriving in Avignon after dark and in peak hour traffic meant it was very dificult to locate the hotel. After parking our car outside the historic walls and searching for the hotel on foot, we were relieved when we finally found it. I don't think that there is any way to avoid this however because Avignon is a difficult city to navigate, initially. It was well worth the effort in the end ! |
