Hôtel Cloitre Saint Louis Avignon    

Magnífico edificio, antigua residencia jesuítica, expléndidamente ubicado para visitar el Avignon intramuros.

Para ir a este hotel es imprescindible aprovechar alguna oferta de precio. De ningún modo justifica su estado actual pagar los 268 € que indica el precio que aparece detrás de la puerta. Nosotros fuimos con una buena oferta y nos colocaron en el ala nueva con habitaciones inmensas, pero con un wc ridículo, donde sentado en la taza las piernas casi tocaban a la puerta. El lavabo separado del wc tampoco era grande y el armario también pequeño, todo ello en una habitación repito que inmensa. El desayuno (16 €) bueno. El párquin, 12 €/día está bien habida cuenta las dificultades para aparcar de Avignon.

Es un poco dificil de encontrar y por su ubicación, en un convento pero compartiendo instalaciones con organismos públicos, es un tanto abierto y raro en su concepción. El personal, sin ser desagradable, que no lo es, tampoco brilla por su actitud de amabilidad y servicio; digamos que bien pero ya está.

Personalmente, he querido utilizar internet en varias ocasiones y no he podido por haber sólo una unidad para todo el hotel y estar frecunetemente ocupada. También he echado de menos el que hubiera un canal de televisión en lengua española.

El hotel es una belleza, muy bien arreglado, muy buenas instalaciones, un parqueadero muy bueno. Los cuartos excelentes.

A pesar de que todo lo demas estaba excelente, el confort no fue bueno pues el aire acondicionado de los cuartos no funciono bien, nos quejamos en la recepcion, decian que lo arreglaban pero esa falla grande nos incomodo muchisimo.

El edificio, su magnífico patio interior y el restaurante.

El hotel estaba lleno y me dieron una habitación en el último piso (la 424) que tenía una calefacción que fué dificilísimo desconectar (tardó el personal del hotel más de 24 horas en resolver). Parece ser es un problema que tienen todas las habitaciones con calefacción antigua.

no me ha gustado. es miserable.habitacion doble de 4m x 3 m sin armario, sin minibar, muy estrecha.tele y aire acc. sin funcionar y cuarto de baño estilo formula 1 (de plastico).es escandaloso.y se supone que es un 4 **** de encanto !!!!.no vale un 2 ** y a 210 euros por noche ,no he visto nada igual de mal

había reservado 2 noches y después de cambiar 2 veces de hbtc(hbtc 425 y hbtc 318) , anule una noche de lo mal que están las hbtcs.hasta el personal estaba de acuerdo conmigo .

The hotel is very historic, nice and perfectly located within the Wall.

Petit Dejeuner was reasonable for the 16€ per day The building itself was amazing, it was nice to have a deck in the modern section with louvers to keep light out but air in

WiFi was miserably slow, slower than 3g, perhaps even than dial up. The WiFi link itself was ok, but the connection to the internet was too slow to be usable The rooms were comfortable but the design was a little too modern for such a classic building.

Location was good, quite street. Private parking was handy. Interior garden and fountain were nice to look at

The room was badly located, terrible smell in the room due to high humidity as result of useless ventilation system. Separate Toilet room was very small - looked more like for children. Towels were very worn and some if them had holes in them. No wardrobe to put your things. No safe (the one that was in the room was a joke - very small and not secured against a wall or anything so someone could literally take it away with all the stuff inside). Aur conditioner did not work. The room style was very poor - no decorations at all (except a small 50/80 cm blanket on the wall)

The concierge Sebastian was very helpful. He goes all the way to help us our stay to book for daily tour to get good value for day tour. At the same time recommend us good restaurant to deal while we were go. Service was excellent. Although our hotel was not right in the main centre. Easy to walk along the street.

The staff at the hotel was exceptional. They helped us with car rental, resturants and sites. Sebastian, the concierge, provided us with everything. Our original room was under emergency renovations and they gave us a wonderful upgrade on the ground floor off of the garden. We loved it ! Excellent location, a two min. Walk to the old city centre.

Everything top notch. Couldn't have been more delighted. Regis and the staff are superb. Physical environment excellent.

What's not to like?

The hotel is an old Jesuit college, so there's history impregnated everywhere. The rooms are all refurbished, very large and very comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful.

It's a bit far away from the town center.

The old building is attractive.

There are many things seriously odd about this hotel, a lot of which has already been commented on. In summary, a poorly managed and maintained hotel with high prices and few active facilites.Rooms in the ugly new wing are badly designed and maintained (large room but very small bathroom, small shower, no soap dishes, broken shower hose, wobbly tap; impossibly small toilet; small wardrobe with cheap plywood door with no handle; very dim lighting; no curtains; badly fitting door to terrace; poor sound insulation). Interior of hotel divided into strange shaped areas and corridors and separated by cheap, unattractive partitions, poor curtains, ugly fire doors. The breakfast service on the two consecutive mornings I was there was expensive and appalling: cups, hot milk, baguettes and croissants repeatedly running out; cold bacon, cold lumpy scrambled “eggs” and poor coffee; buffet area untidy and dirty. The “bar” was cold and empty and impossible to find someone to serve us. The restaurant was not available to us for dinner, even though it is prominently advertised on their website, due to a business conference; lack of activity in the kitchen very suspicious for a “busy” restaurant! No information was given to us at the time of booking concerning either our need to book the restaurant at that time or the unavailability of the restaurant. Hotel is situated a good 15 to 20 minute walk from the Palais des Papes area where the best restaurants seem to be; not ideal in the hot summer or freezing winter weather of Avignon.

The room was nice however the double bed was in fact to single bed side by side. The room was very clean and we appreciate that. It is well located in the center of Avignon.

The lack of light in the room was a pity. The minibar was not free and very expensive. The price is too expensive for this room. The double bed was in fact to single bed side by side.

Unique character of a converted old seminary, close proximity to all the key attractions

Breathtakingly beautiful renovation. Our room was incredibly spacious and airy with very high ceilings and view of the courtyard. Very close to train station -- just a few minutes by foot.

Didn't seem to have a secure left luggage area. When we asked if we could leave our bags for a few hours, we were told to leave them in the foyer (a very public area) opposite the reception desk where, we were assured, a member of staff would always be on hand to keep an eye on them. Also no ticket or receipt was given to us as evidence that we had left our luggage. Not very secure, in our opinion.

Guest elevator not functioning. Inconvenient in transferring luggage either through dining room or a series of small rooms with swing doors Room too hot. Had to turn off heat but no fresh as window could not be opened.

Luxury, large room, staff went out of their way to be helpful, especially when we arrived the last train from Lyon and there were no taxis ti get us to the hotel at midnight. We definitely will return.
