Old building beautiful. Dining room lovely. Dining room staff very helpful
Room in new section a not very welcoming. Couldn't leave doors open because of mosquitoes. Air conditioning was only turned to heating. Room way too hot. Bathroom extremely small and separate toilet was like a cupboard.
We really enjoyed the beauty of the old cloister; clearly efforts were made to sustain the feeling of history, yet provide the amenities today's travelers expect. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast offerings. A lovely stay in a convenient site in Avignon which made taking walking tours quite easy.
Attentive staff, spacious public and guest rooms. Attractive location, about a block from a stop of the Baldine, the electric mini-bus that takes you around central Avignon.
The heavy duvet. Bed needs a sheet to cover one when tossing of the heavy duvet, especially in summer.
Within easy walking distance of central station (even with luggage) and also close to places where you could eat.Staff very helpful with arranging trips and eating out.
Breakfast seemed overpriced so we used local cafes instead. The WiFi was woefully slow taking many hours before wee could get logged on. Once logged on it was still very slow but usable at times.
The location and the courtyard setting are excellent. The dinner was good. The staff were very helpful.
The toilet was too small and had no ventilation. The shower flooded the Bathroom as the door had been opened the wrong way. Too few staff on duty on a Saturday evening.
The Hotel Cloitre is a great spot for a visit to Avignon. It feels very luxurious, in an interesting historical setting. Great location - close to the train station with easy walking access to all the sites in Avignon. Very special place to stay - highly recommended
Its an stunning Hotel situated in an old cloister with an beautyfull courtyard where the deluxe rooms are faced to. The atmosphere is gloomy and the restaurant in the inner hallway lets think you on hotels like in "The Shining". We got a free room upgrade as we check in late. Quite nice! The parking is behind the hotel and situated in the inner city walls everything is reachable by feet. Good spot for a city break.
The roof pool was closed as they had problems with the pump. The Hotel is quite expensive.Without the free upgrade it would be very expensive for a small room what other guest already wrote.
We loved the beautiful building, its excellent location for sights and restaurants, plus the on-site parking. Peaceful, in spite of its location.
Location - close to Avignon Centre Extremely Helpful Staff Picturesque interior and external architecture Large rooms
Not sure about the new wing. Rather whacky room access either up or down a set of steps.
Liked the hotel & location.
Smell of sewerage in our room. Would have liked a top sheet on the bed, duvet too hot!
Ambience, rooms, location.
Pool photo misleading.
The room and the restaurant
The location. The shower tray which did not drain. We reported this on departure so assume it would be attended to
Terrific location - 2 blocks from the train station, just inside the walls of Avignon, close to restaurants and just a few blocks the Palace of the Popes. The building is nice; it was a 16th century convent, I believe. The front desk staff was very pleasant though not responsive to our complaint. The room was quiet though that could have been because we were on the top floor.
The holder for the shower head was missing from the shower. We reported this on the second morning of our 5-day stay and every day thereafter. It was never fixed. On the third day, we were told that they didn't have the part in stock and couldn't get it until Monday. It still hadn't been installed when we left on Tuesday. In addition, the small lobby area in front of the front desk was crowded with luggage every afternoon until check-in time (4 p.m.). Besides making the area crowded and hard to navigate, there was always the possibility that someone could walk in off the street, pick up a bag or two and walk out without anyone noticing.
Good size room well located hotel within the walls of Avignon. Pool a welcome surprise on a hot day although a little smaller than photos.
Check booking prior to arrival. Our booking was for October not September. The hotel gave us another hotel for the night.
wonderfull, honest staff
lack of natural light in the room - shuttered windows which did not open.
Spacious room, very helpful staff, decent breakfast
a coffee machine in the room would have been good
It was an interesting place to stay.
The rooms were too hot for good sleeping.
Poor plumbing in bathroom our room had a shower that needed a deeper tray as it overflowed
Location great and entrance is very grand, pool is great and they have a small gym, very quiet.
Room in the old part at the top was very dirty, it was dark, shower had been snapped off - no way that it is a 4* hotel also be aware they say free parking but they charge you
The staff were exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome.
The interior design is awesome. The swimming pool is very nice and the structure is fascinating. The position is very convenient, just a few steps away from the Hotel de la Ville.
Convenient quiet location, wonderful building with courtyard etc. Good breakfast.
Bathroom facilities need maintenance: leaking tap in toilet, taking a shower causes flooding. Cups in bathroom almost disintegrate on touching them.
the historical building good restaurant convenient free parking
small swimming pool bad Wi-Fi connection
rooms in the old cloisters were fabulous roof top pool was unique and very welcome in a busy city the hotel is a sanctuary of peace and coolness in a vibrant, southern city Hotel parking was definitely worth every euro
