I read some negative reviews of this hotel but the price seemed quite reasonable and, based on my experience, the negative reviews were completely unjustified. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Yes, some of the carpet and wall molding were warn, but to me that is just part of the history and charm of this excellent hotel. I do not take my magnifying glass to hotels to see if I can find some slight speck of dust or a small chip in a piece of furniture. I have better things to do with my time in Paris. If a place is clean with a friendly staff and is reasonably quiet I am satisfied. If it has excellent dining facilities that's a plus. If it has the charm that comes with a long and interesting history, so much the better. The Saint James & Albany has all of these characteristics.

Charles the concierge! All the rest of the staff treated us horribly...he is the only reason I put excellent O. The staff question - did not want him penalized for the rest of the staff's behavior! My room Was fine...I Also booked a roo. For a dear friend...first, they did not give her the type of room reserved - then when they finally admitted they had not given her a suite, they acted like it was our fault! Next...the room/suite was horrible and not at all represented online as it was in reality!

Location only It was one of my worst hotel experiences. I requested 2 suites connected which I got but it was not comfortable in terms of suite design. It was very tight and small. It was very dirty. The carpet had dark spots every where. The furnoture looks old and dull. The breakfast was awful and expensive. I didn't enjoy staying there with my family and will never go there again.

The location is very good. It's close to everywhere. The room and facilities are a little bit old. No wi-fi is really a problem.

The ceiling was coming in on the room and also there was a strange chemical smell throughout the hotel. There were other hotels nearby which were a lower star but looked cleaner and tidier. I would not rate this hotel as a 4*

Only the location Our room (a suite) was filthy, particularly the carpet. The decor was old, and desperately needed upgrading. The television did not work until the second day, and then again on part of the third day.. There was no secondary lock or chain on the inside of the bedroom door, and this meant that cleaning and other hotel staff could (and did) walk into the room, even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. .

The staff was terrific. Patrice the concierge was very helpful and was full of ideas and information. Dated decor in rooms. Definitely needs to be upgraded. Hallways in bad shape, paint, wood - work. The lobby should be beautiful it was average.I think for such a gorgeous building in a marvelous location the hotel and gardens should look fantastic at all times. This is a missed opportunity.

Hotel staff bent over backwards to ensure our needs were met. Location is the best for shopping and sightseeing. Will plan another trip in the near future to this hotel. Some work being done in the hotel and the resturant was closed. Limited menu for dinner.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Price/quality ratio is not good. This hotel must have been a very good hotel 20 years ago. However they stopped renovating. Our room was dirty, the carpet was full of stains, the bathroom was in fact for one person.

The location is wonderful. The room we had was very charming, under the roof and with a very Parisian rooftop view. The spa (hamam) was under renovation, which was not indicated at the web-page. The swimming pool had very limited opening hours.

Me and my son would like to say how much we loved this hotel, from our initial checkin with Thierry, to our lovely room, the facilities, the view- albeit rooftops but still fantastic. The cleaning staff, very quiet in the mornings - not harrassng us to get up early!, The concierge staff, very attentive, and the location....... All round ideal hotel

The location is very good for a Paris visit. It is right across the street from the Louvre. We arrived at 9:30 am and were able to park our car and store our bags until our room was ready at about 1:30. We were upgraded to a junior suite even though we did not ask for an upgrade. The room was large and comfortable and had a view of the courtyard. We did not eat at the hotel so we cannot comment on the food. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was comfortable with a really nice ambience, especially in the bar area. The room was comfortable and clean, and the suite layout worked well as we had our son with us. The location is great with very easy access to the metro as well as centrally located if you wish to walk around. Would recommend.

Of course the location was great, right in front of the gardens and louvre. I did not appreciate the concierge could not book an airport shuttle. That was one of the main reasons i stayed here. The attendant could not find the information, and just suggested i take a taxi. Not very professional at all. Also, I requested not to be bothered with room maintenance for one of the days, but i got back to my room and all my things were moved by the hotel staff. There was not enough attention paid to customer requests.

Location is very good for access of Subway, Shopping and Art Museum. The facility is not New and it is Old. There is some noise from Floor in the night when we walk and someone use Bath Room. In addition, during daytime, they did do some modifcation using Drilling, Hummer and some tools. It may not relux in the daytime, too.

“This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location - within walking distance to the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome, Champs Elysee. The room was luxurious and very quiet. The bathroom was large by European standards and very nice. The American Buffet Breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's a little expensive but well worth it.” C., Atlanta |

“We have stayed there many times, and will continue to choose Relais Christine. It is a stylish hotel with one of the prettiest entrances, very comfortable rooms, welcoming lounge with drinks to choose. Breakfast in the fascinating vaulted cellar has very good choice. Staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. This would stem from the attentive attitude of the Manager. I can think of nothing to say in answer to "What didn't you like about Relais Christine" ! It is a delight in every way. ” Janet, London |
