Hotel Clery  

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The food was excellent. Although the bedroom was a little sparse, the bathroom had been updated recently to a high standard.

I think the buffet breakfast, as in many hotels, is expensive.

No air conditioning in room. No kettle or tea / coffee making facilities.

Convenience and comfort at a reasonable price

The welcome we received on arrival was superb - we were shown to our room which was large, appeared recently decorated and with a spotlessly clean ensuite. There is a lovely bar area with very friendly helpful staff on hand. The food was of excellent quality & presentation, costing 46 euros each for a 3 course meal. The hotel is situauted within close proximity of the autoroute & about 25 mins from the eurotunnel exit. An excellent hotel for a short break, although we stayed here at the end of our tour of South West France.

We have stayed here before and again were delighted with the cuisine which is of a very high standard indeed. Our room was in the yard to the side of the chateau and was on the ground floor - it was decorated like a small Swiss chalet with frilly curtains and lots of traditional wooden furniture. The bed was comfortable but a little hard. The facilities were very clean. The highlight of our night in the hotel was the dinner which was outstanding. The staff were also exemplary and very friendly. The breakfast was adequate but not outstanding. This is in an ideal location for a night after reaching Calais and before an ongoing journey the following day.

Our room - which was really a suite in the garden - was Very pretty and very comfortable- the bathroom was huge! Lovely robes and slippers too! The food was great - staff very courteous! Surroundings - the garden was like a park!

Unfortunately the bedroom area - which had underfloor heating - overheated the room - no airconditioning - no window in our room - we had to either have the door to the garden open all night - with mosquitoes buzzing around or be stultifyingly hot in the room

The staff were extremely helpful and made our stay very relaxing. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The menu is extensive and first class. All in all this hotel could easily be given a higher star value than it has. Two very happy international customers.

Because of a wedding reception and many guests the restaurant was unable to accommodate us on the night. We therefore had to settle for a local Auberge which was not of the same standard as the Clery. If an advanced dinner reservation was necessary, we should have been asked at the time of booking.

We enjoyed the grounds, hotel and the food. the evening meal was excellent and the breakfast a delight. Return travel to Eurotunnel terminus was easy and we took the scenic route.
