Hotel Wilson Bordeaux Bègles  

it was on our way down to Spain for our winter holiday and I needed a " secure parking ". Your hotel was one that I picked and I was delighted to have found it.

The receptionist spoke good English and was very helpful, helping us on where to sign up for tours etc. The hotel reception was also manned 24-hrs a day. We had a EUR 72/- per night double room, and we were also able to check in earlier than the normal time upon our request in advance - there was also no additional surcharge for this accomodation. The room was suitably furnished, comfortable in size and they had a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was also clean and of comfortable size. The free wifi was also sufficiently fast.

The location might be a tad unsuitable, especially for travellers with heavy trolley luggages, because it is about a 15 min (800m) walk from the nearest tram station. The route on the way to the hotel from the tram station may also be a little unsafe at night, being rather quiet as it is an industrial area by day. Travellers should be advised not to return to the hotel too late from the Bordeaux city centre, though we ourselves did not have any problems. We also tried walking from Gare St. Jean to the hotel - while it wasn't too far (slightly over 30 mins), the area near Gare St. Jean is notoriously unsafe at night so travellers should take tram/taxi as much as they can.

The hotel was easy to find and on arrival the staff were particularly helpful. We did not have an evening meal due to our late arrival, but breakfast was a very pleasant experience. The hotel was very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Wilson.

This was one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed at. The bed was changed completely every day and there were plenty of clean towels. The staff were eager to help with advice on sightseeing and were very friendly. We had one evening meal at the hotel and it was the best we had in Bordeaux. The hotel is well placed for local transport and only a few bus stops from the train station.

Only negative is the lack of tea-making facilities, but as we took our own kettle and tea-bags this was not a problem.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

Could not get WIFI to work. Rooms very dated and smelt of smoke.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant buffet and breakfast was excellent. Close to the town and station. Location at the river with highway in between but no problems with noise. Still some green in front off the hotel and large parking facilities. You can sit outside without been disturb by the traffic.

No elevator (one floor). The superior room was quid small with very small window. No mini-bar.

Great overnight location without venturing too far off the Bordeaux ringroad

You need a taxi to get there. Surrounding neighbourhood not very nice.

The people were super nice. We arrived very late and the kindness and courtesy were exceptional.

The room smelled a bit like cigarette smoke although it was clearly designated as a non-smoking room.

How the hotel staff were so helpfull polite the cleanliness of the whole hotel, and the breakfast such a choice,even the eveing meal was excellent. Secure parking, what more could one want. If we had to mark it down the lifts were not working, but they offered to take our luggage to the rooms.

VERY helpful staff - we stayed during christmas eve - we knew nothing woulf be open bu they did thir best to find a restaurant - but when we returned with food from a supermarket they provided crockery and glasses etc so tha wecould enjoy our pick-nick in the room - they did not need to do this - we also left early and the breakfast was all out and ready to go.
