Hotel Rouen St-Sever    

Handy for shopping and looking around. Use the local transport to get around. Park in the st server centre car park and get the ticket off the hotel when you leave to exit the car park.

The room was quite small but comfortable. Very good for the price. Some staff speaks good English.

Breakfast was cliche. Not a lot of options. Instead of a twin room we got a double room.

Good reception. Room is comportable. Beside the hotel there is a large commercial center which is very convenient. Not far from the downtown of Rouen (Grose horloge, Cathédrale).

Polite staff and the rooms are cleanly kept. Tv and hairdryer in the room. Close to shopping centre and not too far from the old town. Taxi rank just outside. A spacious, clean room for the cash!

Directions to parking were not so easy to understand. Area seemed a bit dodgy. I would not walk around there and feel safe at night. Lots of beggars and a few tramps drinking cans under an area next to the hotel entrance.

It was cheap and clean

The location was a little scarey. Ganga of youths around the shopping mall and a gang fight at the Metro station. No tea/coffee making facilities and very narrow beds and bathroom

Shower - operated from adjoining sink and absence of soap dish; Request for drinks to take to room declined; Car-parking facilities' security (our car was broken into); Lack of directions to car-park.

The staff was efficient, and accommodated our poor French level. There was a nice heater to warm the bathroom for showers.

Restaurant was closed for the weekend. Very disappointed. Images on website did not give true representation of the room I was in.

Clean bed with 2 pillows each! Rare in French hotels

We paid a reduced fee as this was an offer. Had we paid the full usual rate we would have been very disappointed. Rather tired and dated hotel in a poorer area of the city. Next to a large retail complex! No tea or coffee making facilities. Restaurant closed at 9 on a Saturday evening....good job McDonalds was only 100 m away! In need of overhaul.

Without a tomtom it would have been very difficult to find. The parking listed is an underground car park to a shopping centre which has a direct link to the hotel. This is not explained in the write up.

Cleanliness or lack off it

The room was clean and it was right across from the St Sever Church. I also liked the Soir Etape. This is the ability to pay for the dinner with the room and is very very cost effective. This is done for French business travellers who are on limited budgets. The first course I had Chevre Salad au Miel was very good, very fresh. (The following Pasta was uninspired. Extremely friendly and helpful.

I would simply have stayed closer to the centre of Rouen if I had known the location. But I reserved based on price this time.

Good location about 15 minute walk to the cathedral and the main part of the city. Parking under the shopping centre excellent and right on your door step. I would recommend this hotel for a city break.

Reception was helpful & friendly. Breakfast was excellent @ 9 euros Parking lot (in Shopping centre multi level) has lift directly to reception. WiFi worked well. The rooms are small but well laid out.

Only little bars of soap. Sachets (at least) of shower gel would have been appreciated.
