The hotel is in an absolutely perfect location in the heart of Montreuil. It sits just off a lovely little square which has a fountain, trees, flowers and benches to sit and watch the world go by. The hotel is very clean, spacious and well maintained and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is absolutely superb in every way. The breakfast is by far the best we have ever come across in any hotels in Europe and the evening meals are outstanding. In the centre of the hotel is a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a quiet drink surrounded by flowers. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be visiting again ourselves.

Perfect place to stay! Comfortable hotel, very friendly staff, and excellent kitchen, including marvelous breakfast buffet. Great starting point for going around: beaches, nature, cities but return to the calm of a quiet, medieval village 'fleuri' Vey good value for money!.

We have stayed before and the owners are very welcoming. One of our party was taken ill during that time and the owners were extremely helpful. It's a lovely old-fashioned hotel but the rooms we stayed in were modern, comfortable, spacious and everything provided. The grounds are beautiful - unfortunately we experienced the most rain to fall in UK or in France this year so we weren't able to make use of them. Nothing - the price for breakfast is quite high but the quantity of food provided was extremely generous and the quality high. I expect the Euro is the problem in prices generally.

Fine undamaged French 19th Century house which is intelligently used, and modern, comfortable annexe (with lift). Off road parking, charming bar, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly and obliging staff. Located in heart of town, a short step from key restaurants, market, Wine Society, etc. Exactly what we needed and we shall be back (when we'll try the dinner).

Very comfortable. Excellent disabled room with lots of space and very usable bathroom facilities. Secure parking. Central location. Lovely breakfast. Cost of breakfast was a little steep and could have been included in room price (especially as reason for visit is often to eat expensive rich dinners the night before!). Parking cost does bump up totals similarly.

The room was good, with a comfortable bed. The service was quick and attentive but unobtrusive. Breakfast was wonderful, with a great array of tasty things to choose from. The car park is awkward to get into and out of. The charge of 9.5 euros per night seems rather high.

Breakfast was just amazing though too bad it was charged an extra 15 eur on top of the room rate. Location in Montreuil is excellent. Rooms were clean, quiet, looking quite newly furbished, bed was large and comfortable, toilet was separate from the bathroom. Price for the room is relatively high for a 3 stars hotel compared to international standards and taking account that hotel lies in Montreuil sur Mer and price of the room did not include breakfast. Fair price would have been at least breakfast included. Pictures of the room on booking.com did not reflect reality. Room did look more charming and cosy on booking.com than in realiry: standard hotel room.

It had a comfortable French feel. The rooms are well appointed, I have never stayed in a hotel with a separate toilet - nice touch. Nice roomy shower. Lovely dinner in restaurant, and great selection of meats and artisan breads for breakfast. Small hotel so not too hectic, quiet location on small square with plenty of small shops to look at in the town. Would definitely go back there for another weekend break. One small thing - the loo paper dispenser was a pain!

Nice, friendly family-run hotel. Excellent food - we'd eaten lunch here on a prior visit. We would have liked to stay in the old building - our room in the new annexe was spotless, but had all the gallic charm of a TravelLodge.

A compact boutique hotel with character. Very comfortable rooms and nicely furnished and decorated. Attention to detail is shown. We stayed at end of October and rooms were rather too hot. Perhaps corridor heaters could be turned down or off in mild weather. Clients have to be aware that they must let Reception know if they don't want breakfast in the hotel in order to avoid the 15 Euro charge for breakfast, This could be made clearer in the terms of booking.

I have stayed at the Coq Hotel quite a number of times over the years and find it the most peaceful and relaxing hotel I've ever experienced. The proprietors and staff could not be more helpful, the rooms are comfortable and very well appointed, the food is excellent and the hotel is situated right in the heart of old Montreuil. There is a delightful-and essentially French-ambience about the whole place. I unreservedly recommend the Coq Hotel.

Its location was good nice village 1 hour outside calais. Restaurant was very good we had a very nice meal and the breakfast was excellent.I would stay again, and would recomend it to my friends. They have a very nice small bar, they should make if more available to the guests to have a pre dinner drink.

The family room is the lovely beamed, sloping-ceiling room that you can see in some photographs. It was very spacious, warm, quiet and comfortable with sofa, easy chairs, fridge/min-bar and a large beamed bathroom. It us steps from the courtyard with a tiny area outside the room door where one could sit out in warmer weather. The couple who run the hotel were extremely helpful and remembered when we were checking out that we were interested in buying one of the cheeses featuring on the cheese-board, so they wrote down its name and where we could buy it. When I mentioned that our children were fluent French speakers they also told us of some local animations where we could take them. The courtyard looks like it would be a very pretty place to eat in summer (we visited late October). The food was very good - local specialities and seafood. The children's menu featured smaller portions of the adult dishes rather than pizza, pasta or chicken nugget type options. My husband and children had the breakfast and loved the buffet. Nothing to dislike - a chair in the huge bathroom would have been useful, but we took one in from the main room anyway.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, even carried our bags to our room for us. We stayed in a family room which was expensive but very large and very nice, with a queen and two single beds. Bathroom was large, modern and clean. Overlooking a lovely courtyard and small car park. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. There was an unusual smell when we arrived, I think it was from the cleaning products as it improved after I aired out the room. I am particularly sensitive to artificial fragrance though.
