Not in the best area of Paris. The family did not feel safe at night walking on the streets in this area.

Lift was not working

I was surprised this hotel was reasonably well rated on booking.com. Lift was broken, stairs were in repairs and dust everywhere. Curtains very dirty, bed 100 years old. New bathroom but terrible smell from pipes.. The area is scary. No, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone..

Location is good, very close to metro and and Montmartre, 15min to go from Gare du Nord. The stuff was friendly.

Had to cancel my planned 5 night stay after 2 nights because my laptop got stolen (not related to hotel). Could not get any refund. I guess this is standard, but not very consumer friendly, especially since I'm quite sure they could find a new tenant quite quickly. Elevator only for 3 of the 5 levels.

Good value for money

Convenient location close to Gare de l'Est and St. Denis metro station (Line 4). Nearby you can find many restaurants and a Monoprix grocery store. Room was very clean, and staff was friendly and helpful (especially if you speak a little French). Ask for a quite room with stable WiFi connection.

The area is shady with many immigrants, main street was dirty and full of beggars. At night it didn't seem safe due to many prostitutes with pimps, but we didn't face any problems although we walked back at 3am. To reach the elevator you need to first walk through the passway, and then climb up steppy staircase - can be challenging if you have heavy bags as we did.

Conveniently located near two metro stops, close to the railway stations Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord, both are 2 to 3 metro stops or 15min walking distance away. Staff were generally helpful and friendly.

Wireless internet broke down on the third day of my stay and was not accessible from my room for the last 2 days. They somehow restored it in the lobby but not the rooms on the 4th day. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible, there are quite some stairs before you even get to the elevator, which is probably too small for most wheelchairs.

-Located in the center of the city,very closer to the Metro line 4 which is very convenient to everywhere -service and kind staff.

-Closer to the east railway station,so full of strange people,and the area is not very clean. -There is no lift from the ground floor to the first floor. -Breakfast is poor.

The Cosmotel was really clean and and had friendly staff. The location was close to the Metro and Gard du Nord. However, when catching the Metro, head for "Strasbourg St Dennis" as it can be confusing as to where to get off. We loved the clean towels every day and the way our beds were made daily too. I liked the red canopy over the front door as it made the hotel easier to spot.

Some confusion in booking breakfast but that was alleviated on the day, although much of the food had gone. So many spiral staircases which were hard for 70 year olds to manage, although the front desk manager did carry some of the bags up for us.

Great location with the city centre within walking distance. Rooms have free WiFi.

Close to underground and shops (monoprix, lidl, pharmacy). Room was clean and friendly although it was quite small, and bathroom was renewaled. Toilette, shower in good condition and clean. We had a room on the 1st floor, but it could be difficult to stay on the 4th floor without an elevator and there is only a narrow spiral staircase.

Staff do not speak English well, but they were helpful. If you arrive at Gard du Nord, do not walk to the hotel, since it is a longer walk and the area is a bit strange - as big railway station areas usually are. From the underground station (strasbourg st.dennis) only 2 minutes walk and beyond comfort, it is much more friendly side of that district.

Location was very close from Gare de E'est train staion. It takes 10 min by walk. Easy to use metro and go to Charles de Gaulle Airport. The room was clean and comfortable.

There was no elevator to front from entrance. So we had to upstairs bring baggage to front. Breakfast was poor. It's worthless the money.

Great location, clean room and helpful staff

We were visiting Paris for two days with 2 families, 10 people. It was very hard to find a budget place that would accommodate all of us. The hotel was clean and the nearness to the Metro was great. It was just steps to the entrance. The little middle-eastern cafe that served crepes right on the sidewalk was a delight. We ate there several times.

The location had one drawback- the people around the area were a bit suspicious and made us feel uncomfortable. There were a lot of street people, beggars, and maybe prostitutes. The internet only worked in the lobby and there was an annoying bell that rang every 2 minutes. Once we were settled in, the location was ok because we just went right to the Metro stop to get where we wanted to go.

The Hotel is in a great location, cheap and clean, however, it's definitely not a flash hotel. They are obviously doing up the hotel as the room itself and the bathroom are both new, however, the door frames are unpainted, the room numbers are written on the doors and there are various hall ways that were also unpainted. But it's good value, safe and so close to the Metro! The staff were pleasant and helpful.

There are lifts in the hotel but they're oddly placed. There is no lift from ground floor to first floor reception and everyone must climb the winding staircase. Our room was located at the rear wing of the hotel so consequently we needed to climb yet another winding staircase to get to the lift to take us to the next floor! If you can't climb stairs with or with our your bags then this isn't the hotel for you.
