No exterior window in room. Room got very stuffy.

Incredible location in the heart of old Lyon. All staff, particularly the concierge were excellent. Food is exceptional as well.

Our room did not have any windows, so it was a little stuffy. Also, the spa facilities are not large and can get a little crowded.

A really charming place in a charming city. Phantastic location in the most interesting part of the old city-centre. A typical French mixture of old structure and old furnitures with some modern design. It's charme is derived from a type of restoration which is very individual though certainly not technically perfect: it's just French and who likes this finds in the Cour des Loges without any doubt a splendid example of "savoir vivre". Its personnel was gentle, efficient and helpfull. I can't imagine a better choice (but I have to admit that I don't know other places there) for such a lovely and vivid place as Lyon. Optimal choice.

our room was very nice and had character, but our bed was not firm and we slided towards the center of the bed!!

The Concierge: world class, charming, very efficient. Reception, very efficient. Parking, no hassle.

Our room (13) was TINY. Bathroom and bedroom in same room, felt like I was back to my student days. The room was also very dark, I appreciate this is the style of the hotel, but we felt like we were stuck in a very small cave. It is not a problem as such but at that price in a 5 star hotel - not impressive.

Restaurant (Brasserie) lst class. Pity the Restaurant proper is closed Sun and Mon. Breakfasts very good. Coffee delicious. Evening meal very good and excellent service Super comfortable bed and nice bedding

The bathroom. Tiny shower in the same space as the toilet. The raised wooden floor for the bed was rather dangerous for nocturnal visits to the bathroom! Kept hall light on, and placed the white bath mat at the edge of the step.

Beautifully located in the old section of town. Surrounded by wonderful little shops, excellent cafes, delightful museums and very friendly people. Our room was lovely and had lovely amenities. The concierge was delightful and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was lovely. This hotel, staff, cafes and location made Lyon one of our very favorite stops on our trip... A place I would certainly return to!

A stunning, truly unique hotel with great facilities, great staff and even better food in the heart of Lyon's old town. One of my favourite hotels ever.

I can't say enough good things about Cour des Loges. This is a luxury hotel that was available at an exceptional rate (perhaps because it is during the time when many things are closed (including the restaurant) for French vacation (mid-July). But the staff could not have been more polite. Their English was excellent. The food at breakfast was wonderful. The room wonderfully comfortable. The hotel itself is like a fairy castle (children will love this and indeed there were several families there). I actually wasn't alone I was traveling with my mother who had sprained her ankle earlier on the train and the staff was wonderfully helpful.

The room we had was sort of dark because it was an interior courtyard room. And I suspect that many of the rooms suffer from this given the layout. And breakfast is a bit expensive at 27 euros (but then it is a huge, magnificent buffet, far more than the usual croissant, coffee and juice).

Cour des Loges is in the heart of old Lyon in a pedestrain precinct at the bottom of Fourviere hill where rhe Romans built the original town of Lugdunum. You can walk to most of the places you will want to get to and use a taxi for others. As there is little or no traffic, rooms are quiet. It is a conversion of several old buildings done in a tasteful and imaginative style with a Mediterranean feel. There is a high quality restaurant attached to it and a quiet spa with swimming pool, sauna and a pleasant roof top terrace. Overall, it is very good, but not outstanding. However, our three-day stay was outstanding. What makes Cour des Loges special is the service. What makes the service special is the concierge team. Service in general is quiet, attentive and responsive. The air conditioning was repaired immediately. A request for an umbrella was instantly fulfilled. They do things you do not expect and go the extra mile: when they delivered the car on our departure, it had been washed, someone polished the windscreen while we checked out and we were handed two bottle of refrigerated water for our journey. But the level of service delivered by the concierges goes beyond even that. We were greeted by Francois, a local boy who knows Lyon intimately and speaks effortless English. It was like being welcomed into someone's home. We got an immediate introduction to the city, where to go and how to get there, including advice about which streets are tourist traps. We had already got some recommendations about where to eat, and reservations were made for us. We also wanted to try a particular restaurant in Beaune on the way home. Francois called them, but they were full. Most concierges would have left it at that and moved on the next guest's request. Francois suggested an alternative, showed us the website and booked us in. We wanted to visit a particular local baker.

If driving you have to make sure to get directions from the hotel and an entry code to the pedestrian precinct. We circled the place twice before working out how to get there thanks to the help from the staff of a nearby hotel which we could access. Call the hotel on approach to get the code, as it changes frequently. Cars are parked by the staff some distance from the hotel, so remove everything you will need from the car before it is parked. The rooms are nice but the bathroom was a bit pokey, with a single sink, an awkwardly positioned shower, and for some reason no hooks for towles et al. The air conditioning did not work because of a common electrical fault, but it was fixed very promptly.

The people. Very courteous and informative. The Head Conceirge guy was an excellent person. Very informative and friendly.

The bathing area needs re-designing. Water overflows easily.

The service, location and room was stunning!
