Liked the location.
Would be beautiful if it had a refurb. Paint etc
Excellent service from the front desk staff especially Claire and Helena. Our room was spacious with two large windows and the bathroom was large with counterspace. We were very comfortable and loved the location.
We could hear the shower in the room next door but that was part of the charm of Paris.
I like everything with the hotel, service, location, staff, the decoration... Only the price is expensive :-)
Amazing four poster bed! Quiet street Lovely, helpful staff Traditional St Germain Parisien style - beautiful building
No added extras in the room Old fashioned style shower-over-bath Only bed and breakfast available Expensive
Location and the history of the hotel
Twice in the early am (before 6:30) I could here workers in the courtyard preparing for breakfast and it woke me up. Once someone even dropped a tray.
Fabulous location, warm and friendly staff, generous breakfast. This is a charming hotel and we had a great experience here.
Nothing to complain about. Nothing.
The location is ideal...we lucked out and stayed in Hemingway's room (#14)...charming breakfast room and garden
There is no shower enclosure, and the tub is short and narrow. Some street noise.
Overall it was nice.
Coffee & tea service in the room would be nice without having to call for room service.
full of character; perfect location in one of the most beautiful streets in Paris. Great rooms. Especially the junior suit
All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location for sights, metro and buses. Good breakfast (served off the grand piano) more than the usual croissant and half baguette. Delightful chap brought luggage to, and collected from, room.
Good location,friendly staff.
The hotel is ideally suited on rue Jacob in the heart of St. Germain des Pres. Our room was enormous and our bathroom also generously sized -- quite an exception for Paris, especially in such a wonderful location. The dark wood ceiling beams, the huge crystal chandelier, the oversized gilded mirror and the thick silk window drapes could only be Parisian. I felt as if I were in a movie. Tres chic. Love the hotel's history. Nice staff.
As wonderful as cherishing its history may be, the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. The carpets may be the same ones that Hemingway walked upon. The old yellowing paint isn't charming. And the fact that I saw three bugs in our room wasn't pleasant.
We enjoyed this stays.Nice location,friendly staff,good room.
Overpriced breakfast, no air conditioning.
Staff were supportive in words and deeds. Benjamin took initiative with both my baggage and helped my mother with a walker on our arrival when I had only 20 minutes to return our rented car. Gracious and sweet. So too were other staff both day and night. This hotel has a stable ness, inspires a feeling you that you can count on the staff and building to meet your needs.
Elevator out of service, though it was attended to promptly.
Helpful staff Large bedroom and bathroom
Breakfast could be improved, i.e more items to choose from, could offer omlettes or something warm.
Jr Suite was relatively spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was quite large by Paris standards. The location is amazing.
It was very warm and humid in Paris and air conditioning would have made sleeping more pleasant.
Historical building in a great location. Near Louvre and Notre Dame. Surrounded by great cafes and restaurants.
Best location, helpful staff, beautiful French hotel
street noise at night. Next time I would ask for a court side room
great rooms ....very.helpful and friendly at reception... Many thanks ! Rosemary. Auckland NZ
An old well maintained local hotel in the St Germain district. Well located to the streets of St Germain with their great restaurants, within several blocks of the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral and a number of museums. Excellent frindly accommodating staff.
Hotel d'Angleterre has a great location, helpful staff, and lovely courtyard.
Our room was on the first floor with louvered windows onto the small, common courtyard -- requiring one to choose between light or privacy.
The staff were friendly and helpful and assisted me with a number of things. The hotel itself is very charming and comfortable and has an easy and unpretentious style that made it easy to feel at home.
Small, cozy, comfortable.
very authentic feel, cute courtyard, amazing location
no shower per say (tub with hand held handle, but I think this is very normal in Europe) but unfortunately there was a good 10-12 long black hairs in my tub... as if they just forgot to clean it maybe? The room could use a deep clean (in nooks and crannies, etc). But the bed was great.
