Hôtel d'Argouges  

This is a gorgeous place to be.We had a very nice view from our room lots of green and birds singing .The hotel is very classy and the people are very helpfull and nice.And is about 30 minutes to the Normandy gold beach and a little more to Omaha or Utah beach.A very historic place .and beautiful too.

The pleasant welcome and attention from reception during the stay. The location was perfect for restaurants, local tourist spots and many charming shops. The hotel grounds were a pleasure to be in. Unfortunately we only had the opportunity to stay one night.

Nothing I did not like albeit I did book the apartment which consisted of two bedrooms and one bathroom. I had considered an apartment would include a sitting room??

Friendly, helpful staff. Good location in the centre of the town. Lovely building and garden. The likes far outweighed the dislikes.

The buffet breakfast was very good and it was very nice to sit in the garden and have a glass of wine in the evening. The parking was easy and the location was excellent. The staff was friendly and kind.

The lovely, spacious bathroom with tile floors had no heat and was freezing cold. It was very unpleasant. The heated towel rack was not working which would probably have heated the bathroom.

The grounds were beautiful, an oasis right in the middle of the city. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful with fresh croissants, jam, eggs and fruit. We really enjoyed our stay! We were given a number of dinner suggestions which were perfect based on our request for a casual atmosphere. We also learned that the home was in the Argouges family for many years. I would highly recommend Hôtel d'Argouges for your stay in Bayeux.

Lovely friendly comfortable little hotel in small Norman town. Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast at £12 was very nice. Decor is like french grandmere, but the bathroom decorated by the granddaughter!

Excellent location in the center of town, can walk to everything. Beautiful hotel, the free and sheltered parking is a plus. Breakfast was included in our rate. Room was clean, with a really nice, modern bathroom- great shower.

The heater wasn't working while we were there and the room was so cold. Staff did provide us with extra blankets, but the room was uncomfortably chilly. Not the best selection for breakfast.

The hotel had charm and comfort. It was perfectly located for sightseeing in Bayeux and the English-speaking staff was very helpful in arranging a last-minute tour of the Normandy beaches after our own attempts proved disappointing. The breakfast room was lovely and elegant and, in it, you felt nicely pampered each morning. Although the remaining public room spaces are limited, they, too, were attractive and conducive to some wonderful conversations over wine each evening before dinner, with some newly-met and delightful fellow travelers. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others.

Nothing. We had a lovely stay at Hotel d'Argouges and I consider it a good value for the money. The fact that they had on-site parking was a crucial consideration for us.

Lovely comfortable and clean rooms in a beautiful building with lots of free parking. Central location and easy to find. Lovely staff.

A bit pricey, no in-room tea or coffee making facility.

Wonderful location in relation to the Normandy beaches and easy walking for dinner and viewing of the Tapestry. The staff was helpful in securing a dinner reservation for us at an excellent restaurant, La Rapiere. Beautiful old buildings with pretty gardens set in the center of town. Very nice breakfast room and breakfast to start us for the day.

Our room was on the third floor and I never asked if there was an elevator! Thank goodness we were all in good shape and it wasn't an issue.

Margerie (or possibly Marie ) on the front desk was a delight.

The hotel is old, tired and lacked the comforts of any hotel at the price in which we have stayed. The staff (except for the delightful young woman mentioned) was generally unfriendly and unhelpful. At 151 euros per night, the hotel is terribly overpriced.

Our suite appeared to be two separate bedrooms with communal bathroom. In fact you have to go through the first bedroom to get into the second, and then from there into the bathroom. Fortunately we know the other couple very well as otherwise it would not have been very satisfactory.

Lovely refurbished establishment in an old building with friendly staff. Our rooms were inviting, so very clean and comfortable. The central location it very convenient.

Hotel d'Argouges is an absolutely charming destination to enjoy the Normandy area of France. The Chateau was obviously an old family residence located in the heart of Bayeux. We drove by it several times because it is located on the busy St Patrice street. After driving through the gate, you feel you are in the French countryside. The young women managing the Chateau were extremely pleasant & helpful. Our room was on the top floor with a view of Bayeux. The room was a good size for a doule & had a very modern bath. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning in the hotel's dining room. There is also another charming building off the garden in the back that contains several rooms.The hotel has parking on site. We never used our car after arriving because we able to walk everywhere in Bayeux. On Saturday night,we walked into the spectacular Notre Dame Cathedral. The organist was practicing for the Sunday service! It was a wonderful experience. We took a private tour of Normandy & the tour company picked us up at the hotel. The Norman Tapestry Museum is near by & day trips to Mont St Michel are very easy. This is a wonderful haven in Normandy.

The city centre location

The location was perfect. Bayeaux is a lovely town & this hotel is located on the main square. We were there to enjoy the Saturday market just outside the front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. They also have a private parking option, which was very important for us.

A very comfortable and quiet room, yet the hotel is in the main street of Bayeux. Easy & safe parking for the Barchetta.

The beautiful hotel was centrally located and the atmosphere was restful. The room was clean and comfortable, we were very happy during our 3 day stay.
