I felt like a Borgia princess in this wonderful hotel. Steps from the place du forum and van googn's night cafe painting spot, it is quiet and calm. You can hear the birds sing. The pool looks gorgeous but too rainy and cold when I was there. Good wifi, they will make a cup of tea or a nice port at the bar. Very nice staff. So atmospheric and generous breakfast! I hated to leave. Very tricky to find...gps doesn't work in these narrow medieval streets. But worth the trouble!

The position is pretty central but very difficult to park and hotel parking is 14euro The stuff unpleasant, arrogant and not helpful - treating the guests as "numbers". Rooms too small. Too expensive compared to what it offers.

Well maintained hotel. Modern enough to be comfortable but retains provincial flair. Difficult navigation to hotel, but you're in a medieval city--it's the charm and headache.

Everything. The atmosphere is special, the staff are well chosen and very helpful, the place is run with love. I think the coffee got a bit cold in the morning, no lids on the jugs ... Is that petty enough?

It was convenient to center of Old Town. It had nice courtyard and large sitting room separate from lobby. Also free Wifi except one had to come downstairs to sitting room to really access it. We had twin beds, separate twin beds, and we were on holiday. Maid service not consistent from one day to next. Obvious hotel was once luxurious but now a bit faded perhaps? A bit pricey perhaps.

Hotel d'Arlatan has an old world charm with period furniture, feature walls, roman ruins but a modern feel too. Particularly liked the outdoor pool. Also enjoyed meeting the turtles in the courtyard fountain. The staff were really helpful. The parking, which is completely necessary, is a little pricey.

Excellent location, old world charm, quiet, comfortable. Car access requires patience, but they do valet parking. Old fashioned rather than modern.

Enjoyed the historic, authentic, architecture. Lovely courtyard & pool. Valet parking. Walking & exploring historic Arles with it's connection to Van Gogh. Viewing ancient Roman ruins through a section of glass flooring in hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Rooms & dining area decorated to reflect history with lovely decor. Because we arrived on Market Day it was difficult to locate & drive to hotel. Once there, everything was great.

This hotel is in a fantastic location in the centre of the old town but in a quiet street, it's a beautifully kept building oozing with french and roman history with very friendly and helpful informative reception staff. We had a very simply furnished but romantic attic room with a lovely view of the courtyard. Although it was a pitstop visit for us and we booked last minute and got a great rate, we will definitely come back to Arles to spend more time and stay at this hotel. Didn't have a chance to sample the breakfast but it looked lovely (it was breakfast or the vast market!) so look forward to sampling that next time along with a dip in the lovely swimming pool The only thing we can think of is that the pillows could do with being of a bit better quality, and there should be 4 in a double room!

The hotel was an integral part of the old town of Arles. Complete with Roman ruins in the basement, the history of the hotel itself reflects the changing landscape of Arles through the ages. The royal tortoises in the courtyard and the beautifully furnished salon & dining rooms were interesting, as well as the two photography exhibits. The surrounding area was enjoyable, consisting of both the old town, some new interesting shops & cafes and the nearby Rhone River. Our room was comfortable, nicely designed and roomy. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was a bit overpriced at 15€. The wireless router worked fine in the lobby but didn't extend to our room.

We really liked the beautiful building and it's character. The swimming pool and patios were lovely. The difficulty of finding the hotel was an issue. Extremely difficult to park especially for people with a large car - thankfully ours was small but the hotel does have someone to help with parking which is essential. The hotel needs to have hair dryers in the room instead of having to request one from reception.

A wonderful, very ancient building in the oldest part of Arles, so interesting and quirky, we struggled to find our room again on the first occassion. Built around two idyllic courtyards, one with dining facilities and the other with a plunge pool. Good aircon in the room so comfortable despite the great heat. We had booked a parking space but driving to the hotel was a bit of a challenge, we have a big 4x4 and the 'streets' are barely wider than big alleys. We were somewhat alarmed when we got to the hotel which is on a bend and realised the difficulty involved in parking. Then a young man promptly appeared and said "I will park your car for you" much relief! Going into the hotel we had the warmest friendliest greeting. Our dogs too were made most welcome and there was no charge for them. Delicious breakfast in the courtyard including 'boil your own egg' , the dogs were able to sit with us. Lovely experience. Very minor point, no hairdryer. You can borrow one from reception, but need to know that before hand.

We originally chose this hotel because of its location and historical authenticity. After we were told that it was already fully booked, we later took advantage of a cancellation and were not disappointed. No complaints whatsoever. Yes, the door keys and locks, etc. were not up to modern standards, but this was part of the charm of a place that represented the Provence of hundreds of years ago.
