Set right in the heart of the town this is a historic building, exquisitely restored with every modern amenity. The elegance of the public rooms and the spacious bedroom with antique furniture reminded us of a Parador in miniature. Parking in such a location was real boon. We were welcomed and given every help and attention. Included in the creative price were first-rate breakfasts. Although we have now "done" Arles the D'Arlatan remains on our short list of desirable night stops.
Finding it in the dark is a bit challenging but the helpful directions work.
Very historic property in the center of town. Mix of modern and antique furniture. Beautifully decorated, very high ceilings.
A strong odor of drains/sewer in room when we arrived. Staff gave us some room freshener which seemed to help. No wifi at all in room; staff came up to investigate, no luck and no interest on part of staff to fix it. We had to go to lobby to get any reception.
Very beautiful place. Good breakfast. Gooda parking not expansive
difficult to find because Arles has very small streets
We liked everything: the central position, the historic building with inner garden and courtyard (with small pool), the beautiful suite with ancient ceilings and ancient stones in the walls, the availability and kindness of the staff, the wonderful breakfast. Incredible value for money.
No negative comments.
Location. Private parking, albeit a squeeze.
Bathroom not very clean and no "non slip" aids in bath - death trap! Beds hard. Poor maintenance of building made it feel neglected. Noisy. No staff on hand at breakfast - had to go and find someone when the orange juice ran out! Would not go back.
Totally charming and ancient building, beautifully lit courtyard, premier location next to the Place du Forum
Staff sometimes a bit off hand, but mostly pleasantly efficient
everything a Little old
Hotel was central to everything. Wifi wasn't bad considering how terrible it is in other French hotels. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean and roomy with nice touches. However, there is only a bath with a shower hose thing. Hotel room was very large with with a main bedroom and adjacent living room with tv. Room was clearly very old with heavy ceiling beams and decorated This was really interesting on the upside
On the down side the age of the room made the Room very dark and the wooden shutters made the room very stuffy. A constant gripe about French hotels is the lack of tea and coffee facilities. This hotel particularly was poor. There was a coffee machine but we were only given 2 pods a day and the cups were the size of egg cups! Not only that we were only given one cup between us! There was also a jazz night and we could hear the whole awful piano and singing performance in our room. Apparently you used to be able to see parts of the old roman city under a glass floor in the foyer but a new owner has covered this up which is a shame. The staff at the front desk were erratically helpful which was confusing and frustrating
Location just off Place du Forum, large and quiet room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, lovely old building and two English T.V. channels, plus excellent WiFi reception
.Shower in the bath
location the building
bathtub too high for small persons, absence of shower curtain, one unfriendly receptionist, lift packed up once. no WLan in room although the brochure says otherwise
Hotel is beautiful and in a great location.
Parking is available on site ;however the streets are difficult to maneuver-- lots of narrow one way streets
We liked about everything, beautiful room, historic building in the middle of everything.
The breakfast wasn´t perfect, to "french", not really value for Money.
Excellent hotel with a lot of charm. Pleasant pool area and terraces, good to be able to sit outside and relax, would have been even better if drinks had been reasonably priced. Close to the sights and restaurants.
A pleasant bar and outdoor seating, but the drinks were very overpriced. 12 euros for two cups of coffee when they are available for 5euros in the cafés a hundred yards away. Bar drinks also very expensive.
it was a great hotel with so much charm, stunning courtyard where we had breakfast and interesting sophisticated decoration and off street parking for the cars. It is a little quirky.. if you are looking for a generic hotel with every room the same etc it may not be for you. We loved it though!
Great location, very close to the Van Gogh "Cafe at Night" painting, walking distance to everything.
Historic, well fitted property. A very wonderful stay right in the middle of Arles. It's a ten to fifteen minute walk from the train station, but I'm glad we didn't have a car!
Convenient location right in Arles; easy walk to sites.
Very difficult to find; only way to reach it was to go wrong way on one way street.
The architecture. The blend of antique and contemporary furnishings and artwork. The courtyard. The staff (reception, breakfast and parking) were charming. The copious "as much as you can eat' breakfast with an excellent choice of top quality teas. The neighborhood. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!
There are lifts but some of the floors have stairs and steps which could be a problem for less mobile guests.
The location is very good If you are travelling by train or on foot...the streets are very narrows for car circulation and reaching the hotel is a bit complicated.
This is a delightful, extremely well located property (50 m from Place du Forum). It is obviously 2 or 3 separate buildings integrated by charming courtyards. It has loads of character (has operated as a hotel over 100 years); rooms are good size, clean and comfortable, and it is very good value for money. Slightly rustic feel to the rooms which makes them appealing. Bathroom is modern and well appointed. Separate toilet. Great view from window of courtyard, and we also overlooked a pleasant swimming pool. Staff were helpful. Elevator available to our room level. Wished we could have stayed longer at this property, and we would certainly recommend it to other travellers.
Very nice staff, excellent location
Not a single hook in the bathroom for towels, t-shirts or anything else. No hook, even, for the shower head, which had to be hand-held. Why would a hotel of this class be so cheap in the bathroom? It only serves to make guests like me uncomfortable and annoyed. Also, at €15 I passed on the breakfast.
Location in middle of town but well hidden and quiet Very calm and tranquil surroundings Swimming pool was great and 5 sun beds very comfortable Two out of three receptionists were very kind Hotel garage was essential and good Ice machine
Expensive breakfasts / bar Difficult location to find but when we had, was great Garage - small so cars had to be parked for you No coffee / tea facilities or mini bar Sometimes all sun beds used and no other area to relax / sunbathe One very noisy night / early morning - neighbour's music
An oasis of calm
central location, however because there are so many one way streets it is difficult to find, the staff went out of their way in sending someone to meet us and drive us into the hotel garage which is a must if you are driving to Arles.
Very central location. Good to stay in a hotel with character. Despite it being in the centre to the town, we were given excellent directions by the hotel and had no problem finding it.
