Getting to it is the only difficult thing about this hotel! - Arles is an old city of narrow one-way streets, and I could not find my way despite the hotel's map giving directions, until one of the garage staff walked a few minutes back to my car with me and drove me there (!).
The old architecture (hotel is a former dukes' palace), the sitting room with the huge fireplace, the retro furniture, and the extremely helpful garage staff.
The wi go service was intermittent and doily have been a problem if we had been there on business.
We especially liked the moles u and setting of this find old hotel. Th front desk head recptionist was especially attentive to our every need.
A wonderful historical building with quirky and idiosyncratic decor
bed was quite uncomfortable, decor piecemeal and totally out of date, the wifi router in our room was unplugged for some reason so we spent a few hours thinking it was down before we figured it out, was awoken by other guests walking down the staircase in the morning.
private parking garage in the middle of the old town was a big plus.
A bit difficult to get to with a car but the directions the hotel gave me were extremely helpful.
The location is terrific, right in the center of Arles. The private parking was crucial. The room was nicely designed and was fairly comfortable.
The bed was a little hard on my back but no complaints besides that!
The staff was great especially the young man with the glasses. I really liked how they helped us park our car. I just wish they would have let us know that ahead of time so we could have pulled up in front of the entrance rather than trying to pull into the garage ourselves. Not a huge problem though because one of the female staff came out to help us when we were in trouble! Everyone was very friendly and helpful!
rooms look a little shabby and could benefit from a renovation but they are very clean. The made was late with the cleaning. we went back to the room at 14:00 and it has not been cleaned yet
great location. Do not worry with parking the hotel staff will park your care for you. Staff very helpful, polite, beautiful hotel, great renovation of the lobby, dinning area. Amazing garden
No wifi in the room
Very good location, nice building
The delightful staff. Excellent location, stylish spacious rooms, lovely surroundings steeped in history and as a bonus splendid breakfast which was beautifully presented with lots of choice.
Great location and very helpful staff.
Spooky atmosphere: one might say it's very medieval but for us it was just a little bit spooky with a giant closet in the room, broken tiles on the floor, and a heater not working. Terrible parking: the hotel's location is center of the busy, packed streets of the city which makes very difficult to get to the parking lot/hotel by car. Also its parking lot is very small. You need an agent to park your car otherwise you might get scratch on yours or other car. I recommend you use the public parking lot near the information office or simply just other hotel if you're traveling with a car.
The breakfast had quite many selections compared to other French hotels.
spacious rooms and friendly accommodating staff
Very helpful staff and great breakfast.
Hotel appeared a little tired though, clearly a lot of money spent on upkeep. Bath appeared to be an old one re-painted. Room somewhat spartan in feel. Driving really difficult through narrow streets some blocked, the garage was a plus though expensive. Heavy rain stopped enjoyment of the town, very little to do in hotel in this situation.
Friendliness of staff. Central location cleanliness Nice to have blankets and sheets for a change. We cut short our visit by two nights due to the weather, the hotel was very understanding and did not charge for the unused nights which surprised me considering the lack of notice. I would like to try again in the sun!
Finding it in the dark is a bit challenging but the helpful directions work.
Set right in the heart of the town this is a historic building, exquisitely restored with every modern amenity. The elegance of the public rooms and the spacious bedroom with antique furniture reminded us of a Parador in miniature. Parking in such a location was real boon. We were welcomed and given every help and attention. Included in the creative price were first-rate breakfasts. Although we have now "done" Arles the D'Arlatan remains on our short list of desirable night stops.
A strong odor of drains/sewer in room when we arrived. Staff gave us some room freshener which seemed to help. No wifi at all in room; staff came up to investigate, no luck and no interest on part of staff to fix it. We had to go to lobby to get any reception.
Very historic property in the center of town. Mix of modern and antique furniture. Beautifully decorated, very high ceilings.
difficult to find because Arles has very small streets
Very beautiful place. Good breakfast. Gooda parking not expansive
No negative comments.
We liked everything: the central position, the historic building with inner garden and courtyard (with small pool), the beautiful suite with ancient ceilings and ancient stones in the walls, the availability and kindness of the staff, the wonderful breakfast. Incredible value for money.
Bathroom not very clean and no "non slip" aids in bath - death trap! Beds hard. Poor maintenance of building made it feel neglected. Noisy. No staff on hand at breakfast - had to go and find someone when the orange juice ran out! Would not go back.
Location. Private parking, albeit a squeeze.
Staff sometimes a bit off hand, but mostly pleasantly efficient
Totally charming and ancient building, beautifully lit courtyard, premier location next to the Place du Forum
everything a Little old
On the down side the age of the room made the Room very dark and the wooden shutters made the room very stuffy. A constant gripe about French hotels is the lack of tea and coffee facilities. This hotel particularly was poor. There was a coffee machine but we were only given 2 pods a day and the cups were the size of egg cups! Not only that we were only given one cup between us! There was also a jazz night and we could hear the whole awful piano and singing performance in our room. Apparently you used to be able to see parts of the old roman city under a glass floor in the foyer but a new owner has covered this up which is a shame. The staff at the front desk were erratically helpful which was confusing and frustrating
Hotel was central to everything. Wifi wasn't bad considering how terrible it is in other French hotels. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean and roomy with nice touches. However, there is only a bath with a shower hose thing. Hotel room was very large with with a main bedroom and adjacent living room with tv. Room was clearly very old with heavy ceiling beams and decorated This was really interesting on the upside
.Shower in the bath
Location just off Place du Forum, large and quiet room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, lovely old building and two English T.V. channels, plus excellent WiFi reception
bathtub too high for small persons, absence of shower curtain, one unfriendly receptionist, lift packed up once. no WLan in room although the brochure says otherwise
location the building
Parking is available on site ;however the streets are difficult to maneuver-- lots of narrow one way streets
Hotel is beautiful and in a great location.
