Hotel D'Orléans  

The couple running the hotel were helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were fine. I was glad of the hotel being convenient for the station, and relieved to find my room at the back was so quiet. Good value for money. Easy to walk up the hill into town centre.

Great room,very comfortable in a great location close to the town and across from the train station. I use this hotel whenever I am staying in Angouleme

Walls are paper thin between rooms but has never affected me as Hotel is very rarely fully occupied when I am there

The bathroom wasn't very attractive: even though it was clean, it seemed like it wasn't. The receptionist wasn't very flexible and accessible, not very guest oriented. The elevator was a bit scary and the room was very hot, even with all windows opened (quite noisy as well)

Staff price and location

Comfortable beds with clean linen, duvet & 2 pillows each. Towels changed daily. Excellent breakfasts. Ease of returning late at night. Friendly, helpful staff.

Small shower-room, no air extraction, broken shower head. Noisy opposite rail station and overlooking main road. Patio doors had to be opened to get any ventilation.

Very helpful staff and all very clean. Good value for hotel near to town.

Cleaning of the room was sub-standard - bathroom bin had not been emptied from previous occupant (contained soiled sanitary towels, etc) & the carpet did not look as though it had been hoovered (number of threads, bits, etc in evidence) Parking is big issue as difficult to find somewhere to park Located on the outskirts of city requiring an up-hill walk to city centre (5 mins + - this is only a problem if you dislike walking or have mobility issues). Walls between rooms are extremely thin so you hear all noises - recommend ear plugs

Friendly and helpful reception. Spotlessly clean, good shower/wc. Reasonably priced. Very convenient for SNCF. Breakfast OK.

No air-con - but didn't expect it at the price.

We liked the staff, its cleanliness and its location, near the train station.

We liked less old elevator, the fact there was no ventilator and it was very hot. Also, we could hear everything happening in the next room.

We choose this hotel because we were dropping off a rental car and also needed to be close to station, therefore it was excellent. Hotel room was clean, roomy and great shower. It was also only a short walk up to the city centre with its lovely old buildings, great shops and plenty of restaurants. Certainly was value for money

It was located close to Station (we wanted a convenient overnight stop). The hotel was cheap and fairly basic, but clean and comfortable. The owners were cheerful, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was extra - but good and plentiful.

Because it was near the station it was fairly noisy, but that's to be expected in a town centre location

It was convenient for us as a stop off on our way to Montesquoiu. The price was fair the service was very good and we enjoyed a meal at a restaurant named Terminus just 100 mtrs away.

The location is excellent, very close to the station, the staff are very friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable. My room was clean and comfortable and I will certainly be staying again.

Hotel trés bien situé en face de la gare. Chambre simple mais fonctionnelle. Distributeur de boissons dans le hall. 5minutes du centre ville, de ses restos et bars sympas.

Petit dejeuner cher (7euros) pour un croissant, pain, jus d'orange. Pas de fromage, ni jambon.
