Unpretentious hotel with a lobby, an elevator, and a clean room with a lovely French window (floor to ceiling) with a cast iron fence. Great location, a couple of blocks from the "Negresco" and the Promenade. Great value for the money. No restaurant (you can order breakfast to be brought to your room - we didn't), but there is a wonderful local corner bakery/cafe across the street. People at the desk (we saw four of them in five days) were all very nice and friendly. We found nothing wrong with the hotel. There is some street noise in the morning (cars, buses), but Nice this is a city hotel, not a country estate. We didn't see this as a problem. We were there in mid-October, so I can't speak for the summertime.

Value for money, close to the beach and only a short walk to the centre of the town. New restaurant "Melody" recently opened next door... Well worth a visit.. Closed Sunday and Monday. Took 98 bus from terminal one to gambetta bus stop €4 each and walked down rue andrioli to hotel....easy!hotel simple , but adequate, clean and bed and towels changed daily. Water on sale in reception but Lidl supermarket just round the corner much cheaper. Fridge in the room, but no kettle ,cups or hair dryer so you will need to bring your own. Continental breakfast very fresh and brought to your room at any time you request. Thanks Hotel Dante we had a lovely stay and would probably come back. Small room as you would expect for the money and in Nice. Had to wriggle out of the shower due to awkward position of the doors. Not too much of a problem... Did not spoil our stay.

Very few redeeming features. From the working girls in the hotel entrance to the water pouring through the ceiling, Rooms that were dated in the 1970's and a bathroom that had no shower just water running down the wall. It was 20-30 min walk to town through a less than salubrious area of Gangs riding around on Mopeds and ladies of the evening stationed on each street corner. Yes it is cheap, but for a good reason.

The Hotel Dante was really clean and nice-looking. It is located only a few meters far from the Promenade des Anglais which made it very convenient for us to get to the beach as well to the city. The room had everything you can expect from a two star hotel and maybe even more. We had a frige and also Television (french channels only). The staff was very nice and always disposable. We didn't eat there so I can't judge the kitchen of the Hotel Dante. We spent out time there in the low season so the price was really good for all the services offered. We saw that the price rises in the main season though. Only thing that was kind of difficult that there was only one person of the staff who was actually speaking English.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The walls are paper thin, so you can here everything going on .there are no carpets on the room floors or service area floors therefore making every movement noisy especially if you have a floor above you.the shower needs a simple hook in it to hang the shower on and also a soap dish to put the soap in. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN MAINLY BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET TO SLEEP OWING TO THE NOISE FROM OTHERS. I KNOW IT WAS CHEAP BUT I DO EXPECT TO GET TO SLEEP.

The staff were extremely helpful. We had lost a passport and camera on the bus and the receptionist spent a long time on the phone tracking them down for us. They were just so helpful and kind.

Bathroom wasn't very clean and the shower had a broken knob. Beds were very uncomfortable—don't stay here if you have back problems! You can feel all the springs in the mattress. Location also wasn't as close as we were led to believe. While it wasn't terrible, it took a good 20 minute walk to reach any popular locations.

Very nice and helpful staff. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the desk after check out so we could explore the city without paying for luggage lockers. Very close to the beach. About a 20 minute walk to the train station so no need to figure out the city transit. Air conditioning was a life saver! The perfect hotel to stay at if you just want somewhere nice and clean to get a good night sleep, get to the beach in three minutes, and enjoy Nice! Also, 2 minutes south down the road was a tasty Kebap restaurant! The walls could use soundproofing, and the bathroom could use some updating.

Nothing, the hotel was a disgrace. The only positive element of our stay was the staff, who were apologetic and quick to issue our refund for the remainder of our holiday - we were staying for four nights but checked out after the first night and found somewhere else to stay. Everything, a horrific hotel that misleads with its images and decieves with its star rating. We all know what to expect from a two star hotel - basic facilities, clean beds, small rooms and standard comfort. However, a star rating denotes a certain level of quality, above that of a hostel or bedsit, the hotel met none of these requirements and our room featured a series of health and safety hazards - such as melting light bulbs, air conditioning pipes feeding into the sink, mould and fungus in the shower tray and around the walls, dirty floors, single beds with junior matresses on them, lights that didn't work, cookers that were clearly unsafe and the bathroom ceiling was virtually transparent - through which wiring and electrics could be seen dangling. The night staff were very 'shady' and shouting all night until about 4am, I myself got no sleep at all the first night - hence our swift depature the next morning. DO NOT STAY HERE - we found a four star hotel along the road that cost us roughly double the price to stay at (as you would expect) but enhanced our stay a hundred fold. This is not a two star hotel, do not be fooled like we were, I have seen hostels that have provided more comfort with no star rating at all. We ignored other reviews for this hotel, hoping that these were odd instances and fussy holiday makers, they were not, if you have basic standards of living - especially when you're going on a holiday that you have worked hard to pay for, then make sure you stay somewhere with good reviews and a good reputation - you can't put a value on staying at a hotel that makes you feel welcome, relaxed and above all - enjoy your holiday to the fullest.
