clean room good view from 4th floor room location
Typical older Parisian 'Pensione' with updates. Close to numerous restaurants and bars and the Bastille Metro. Our room was in the rear which was nice and quiet. We did not use the breakfast facility since it is so close to a good patisserie.
Very noisy Saturday night on the streets - good place for the young crowd.
Friendly no nonsense staff, great wifi, simple but good
Great location. 2 mins walk to Bastille metro station. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed and pillow!
Noisy pub nearby. Some rooms can be affected.
Staff very helpful. Close to most tourist attractions. Very clean.
Good location and value for Paris
Excellent facilities,value for money
Location is in a quiet street adjacent to a party area. Unfortunately and perhaps as it was a weekend. It was extremely noisy.
Staff was very nice, spoke english well. Very professional and respectful to customers. The room was very clean, fresh sheets, just a little too small for my 2 teenage girls and I. Conveniently located near Metro station, Starbucks, bakery shops and restaurants, even a Pharmacy. A little noisy at night due to high traffic at nearby restaurants but once we closed the window it was pretty quite. Overall, we were pleased with the choice we made to stay at this hotel.
The hotel has no parking. Had to park on a near by street and pay for the parking 2 hour at the time, it was inconvenient due to the fact that we had to stay close by at all times. One morning, my car was towed away because there was some kind of Open Farmers Market set-up during the night.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable if a bit cramped.
If your room is facing the street be prepared to lose sleep. The windows do nothing to keep the noise out. If the room wasn't air conditioned it would be impossibe to stay there,
We stayed in a 4- beds room. It was very quite and nice .Very nearby many good restaurants!
The breakfast was too expensive!
The room was very clean and it was a nice surprise to have a little balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Considering we were in an area that has lots of bars on the street, there was absolutely no noise heard in the night from outside in our room.
The elevator! Very small and old so was a bit scary going in it!
Extremely clean rooms with everything you need. Bathroom is very small but clean and big enough to shower. The beds are comfortable. If you come for party there are plenty of bars and clubs just outside the door.
The hotel is located on a very very noisy street at night and on weekends. There are bars, clubs and restaurants just outside the door. We were lucky to get a room facing the garden so we didn't hear much from the street. You must leave your key at the reception every time you go outside. At one time the hotel gave us the wrong key (which lead to another room) and after some searching they couldn't find our room key and had to give us the spare key. This is extremely bad as we had everything in the room when we were outside! This make us feel very insecure! At checkout the hotel tried to charge me for the 3 nights we stayed all though I had already prepaid for one night through Booking.com. This is something the hotel must be very careful about! It make me feel like they tried to rip me off.
Location is excellent, staff were welcoming and professionally dressed. Very smart.
Better than a 2 star hotel it calls itself. The location is hip, with a positive vibe to the immediate area. Staff always helpful and friendly. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the area. Rooms compact.
Location Good bed
Small room and bath No kettle
We stayed with two small kids and had a room with one double bed and two singles. Highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money. Rooms are clean, small and basic with thoughtful touches like open closets with shelves. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Marche Bastille on Sundays steps away. It should be rated higher than 2 stars.
Cleanliness, location, staff and all the restaurants and bakeries just downstairs out front of hotel. Metro mins walk away. Surroundings is so alive.
Nothing really except price could be lower.
The location is great! We also loved having air conditioning and free WiFi. The beds were comfortable and the pillows good. It's nice having a hard and a soft pillow. The rooms were quiet for the most part, even when, the second time we were there, we had a room facing the street.
Sometimes the desk staff were not as helpful as they could/should have been. They were a bit lacking in enthusiasm. In addition, a hotel that attracts tourists should have a method for printing their travel documents and other important papers they might need while in Paris.
great location - for metro, drinks, quick bite - and a staffer, Zora, really helped me out getting an event's timing at Ste Chapelle correct - as well as recommending a restaurant - a big thanks to her!
the street side room's need for earplugs to sleep - especially on the weekend
Location is fantastic... one block away from the Bastille Metro Stop and in the heart of our favorite Parisian neighborhood! Definitely request a rear of the building room as being in the front could make it difficult to sleep. Room is very efficient. A/C worked perfectly, bathroom was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff was super helpful with recommendations even though we new the neighborhood, still terrific with options for eating and nightlife. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Paris!
Hallway lights were motion activated and only on for a short time then would shut off. Very dangerous going downstairs on the last flight! Other than that, the Hotel was great!
Beds were comfortable and each bed was given 2 pillows. Comfy and clean. Breakfast was good...especially the croissants!! Location was Perfect!! Plenty of choice restaurants, bakeries, Coffee joints. On the weekend, there is a weekend market just 100m right out of the Daval Hotel. So close to the Bastille underground station. Ideal location!!!
Our triple sharing room of 014 which was located in the 1st floor faced the main front road. On the Saturday night when we checked in, just opposite the Hotel Daval which is just 50m away, was a Restaurant Pub like premise. Massive noise from Partying patrons of the Restaurant lasted till 5am!! It was so so noisy..we couldnt sleep till 5.30am. After that it was a bunch of people who were either tipsy or drunk yelling at the top of their voices just below our room window. I was rather surprised that the Reception staff did not kindly politely informed the group that they were disturbing their Hotel Guests and to move away or lower their voices. The next morning when I complained about the noise, the Reception staff commented that this is Paris. You can't do much as outside pavement is Public Property. Thank God the following nites were much quieter. We stayed a total of 6 nites.
Excellent location very close to 2 metro stations. Free wifi Helpful staff giving directions to places we wanted to visit Quadruple room which is not available at many hotels
Staircase is narrow and the lift is hardly big enough for one person and a suitcase.
Everything! The staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again.
