Hotel de Bretagne  

Staff upgraded our room (we had booked two twin beds/one double and received one double + one twin) which was excellent. (However room was still tiny!) Staff also helped us carry luggage upstairs as there was no elevator which was very nice.

You get what you pay for - so rooms were very cramped and dark and tiny bathroom with no ventilation. Also got bitten both nights by lots of mosquitos.

Perfect location, right in the center of Lyon. Walking distance to most sights and to lots of restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful. Good price. Free wifi.

Room was a bit noisy, but I always bring earplugs.

Staff are really helpful, though it does not have a life, he help us to pick the luggage upstairs upon our asking. Breakfast is excellent under such room cost. the location also close to the street with many restaurant in Lyon. We have a good night there

I got so lost and didn't arrive before reception closed but the man let me in which was a huge relief. The location was good when I found the place.

I tried to call to let them know I would be late but there was no answer on reception.

The hotel is located close to main streets in Lyon, close to shops and restaurants, you can get from McDonald up to great Coffee shops. It is very close to the metro station and you can walk from there to the main touristic points in the city.

The room was ok, I did not like the smell of mold (closed place) because I'm allergic to it.

Within walking distance to good shops and to my business venue. Had fast, free wifi connection in my room. Quiet warm comfortable bedroom with good shower and TV facilities

No lift and narrow circular staircase. Avoid x06 rooms as they are in the middle of the staircase

Gas failure meant no heating or hot water for entire stay in winter.

Location is good, near of metro station, in the city center

Furniture and doors are covered by old dark-brown paint with numerous scratches. Window looks into blind yard. But we needed room only for sleeping, so it doesn't matter! Reception is open from 7 till 23 o'clock. At 6.30 old woman knocked at our door - she had no cellular phone and she had to call ambulance. It would be better to have any public telephone in the hall for such purposes.

Basic hotel, but if staying for a couple of nights not bad at all.

This hotel had a great location, and the staff was exceedingly friendly and welcoming, despite my (very) poor French. As is made clear by the information and other reviews, there is no lift, but that is very typical of small European hotels and was a small obstacle that I expected. Breakfast is an extra payment, but hot drinks are always available for free, and I found that to be a great perk at any hour. My towel in my bathroom was dirty upon my arrival, but they gladly switched it for me and I had no further issues. Considering the location, I think this hotel was great for the price, as Lyon is not a budget-friendly city on the whole.

Having room on stairwell was quite noisy and hand held shower.

Great location clock to c3 bus, near the river and surrounded by restaurants. The Managers were extremely helpful with tourist support and efficiently provided a healthy breakfast with enthusiastic wait support.

Does not have a lift. Rooms are small, however typical of budget hotels in Europe.
