Set in the heart of Nîmes, near the famous Roman monuments, this hotel offers stylish and individually decorated rooms. The hotel restaurant, La Bodéguita, opens onto the colourful Place d'Assas.
Score from 139 reviews Good
The hotel is just under a 10 minute walk from the station in a narrow pedestrian street with the Roman Amphitheatre, the Arena of Nîmes at one end and place du Marché with a fountain and great café for breakfast with amazing hot chocolate, Le Courtois, at the other just in case you don't get up on time for breakfast in the hotel which finishes at 10am. There is also a good restaurant on the corner opposite the Arena and you are within walking distance of everything. The rooms were fine and the owner Marcus kindly gave me a larger room than the one I'd booked and even gave me a better rate on one of the two nights than what I'd booked. He also recommended a good restaurant for dinner on Sunday evening.
Wifi was available and when it was it was fine, but it kept cutting off and I had to keep logging in again and it sometimes took up to half an hour. I went to reception and told the owner Ghislaine who said she wasn't aware of the problem. I said it had been mentioned on another site. She then asked me why I chose to stay there which wasn't exactly the response I was expecting. I said it was because of the good reviews I had seen. She then told me that a technician was coming that week so I suppose she must have been aware of some problem after all.
The hotel was in such an amazing location you walked outside the hotel door and there loomed i front of me was the Amphitheatre.... Nimes was great in so many ways; parking stations conveniently located, not too many streets, town not too big, easy and safe walking around even at night with not many people. There was a great short history movie on the inception of Nimes at the Maison Caree which is a must see if you are interested in how this lovely town came about (especially togainan Amphitheatre)
Great location. Charming hotel owners. Good breakfast. Owners very helpful with restaurants and other local arrangements.
Room on top floor without elevator.
Friendly, stylish, well located. Very good breakfast.
Great Location NO Access for cars (Pedestrian area)
A pleasant 3 star hotel located very close to the Ampitheatre. the main sightseeing attraction in Nimes. Very comfortable room on the 2nd floor with all facilities including good bathroom. Comfortable bed and a good sleep prior to the acitivity in the street below which usually starts around 7:00am. Helpful Reception and helped us with the free wifi connection.
Parking is difficult in Nimes but free if you park on the street or parking building under nearby square between 8:00pm and 9:00am. Not too easy with large luggage suggest transfer your immediate needs to smaller more manageable bags for your stay in any of the very old cities with no close car access.
Excellent location next to the Amphitheatre. Fantastic breakfast. Good free wifi. Large and comfortable room. Friendly staff who speak English. Vanilla, their dog, is gorgeous.
No elevator, which would be hard for older people.
Excellent Location, very friendly and supportive staff
Breakfast was good, but should be included in the price
Challenging walk from the car park
The owners are very friendly and speak English Breakfast is good with great homemade jams 2 minute walk to arena
This is a real home from home for us - friendly, welcoming staff who are knowledgeable about the area, clean, comfortable room, excellent location. What's not to like?
Great location could walk from the station and its close to all the attractions. Friendly staff Great Breakfast
Loved the location and character of building
Disturbed sleep by road works
Lovely decoration and renovation, great location
A little overpriced, the entrance area seems that of a youth hostel, so gives the wrong impression because the rooms are actually very nice
Central location: lots of good restaurants nearby. At night effective double glazing kept street noise out and effective and quiet aircon kept the temperature comfortable. Friendly and helpful management and staff made us very welcome. We gather that a lot of visitors spend just a night or two in Nimes, but we stayed for two weeks and had a very interesting and enjoyable time.
Everything. The owners were very kind and helpful. They moved our booking to a room on the first floor after we blanched at the thought of carrying our very heavy cases up to the third floor. The bedroom was delightful, decorated with flair. The bed was large and comfortable with loads of good pillows. The bathroom was excellent, lots of space to put our wash things. The bedroom overlooked a very busy square at the back, but we didn't hear a thing. Good soundproofing. We loved this charming hotel.
The wifi didn't work in the bedroom, but was fine in reception.
Location, friendly, clean, comfortable and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend it. Loved the really healthy breakfast with great pot of coffee!
Perfect location, old hotel full of character but with modern facilities.
