It is not far from the Saint-Malo old center. We had a double room with shower and it is clean and comfortable. The personal very nice.
We couldn't connect to wifi. The breakfast could have been better.
We spent one night in this hotel in November 2014 while visiting Brittany and I was glad that we did not stay longer. The hotel is located about 10 minutes by walking from the historical center, which was convenient for us and which was the only positive of this hotel according to me.
This hotel offers hostel type accommodation. First of all, the receptionist was not very nice. Our room was on the third floor (no elevator) and it was very small. Everything in the room was very warn with use and old. Walls were paper thin. When we came to the room, it was very cold (please note that we were staying in November and it gets pretty cold in Brittany in November...). The heating was off and I was unable to figure out how to turn it on. So I went down to the reception and asked the receptionist. I was told not to worry that the heating would be on eventually, that it's centrally controlled and so it turns on and off automatically at specified times. I said that it was really cold in our room and that it was not good especially as I had a pregnant friend staying with me. I was told that it was not possible that it was cold in the room and thus the conversation ended... The wifi was very slow, it disconnected every five minutes and you have to fill in a long form every time you would want to connect again. Stay in this hotel if you want a cheap place close to the historical centre and if you don't care too much where you sleep. Otherwise stay away.
Comfortable, clean room. Good price for St Malo. Close to pubs and restaurants. Parking available in vicinity. Was able to walk to old town (20mins).
close proximity to train station.
Though a little basic, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and provided a lovely breakfast.
Location Size of the room New towels the following day Complimentary toiletries
No elevator (for old, disabled people) Bathroom not closed at the top
Helpful staff, location.
Carrying bags up 3 flights of stairs.
No fuss. Decent room. 10 minute walk from walled city.
Typical continental breakfast 6.5 Euros for some bread and jam, coffee, orange juice and a croissant.
Unfortunately in the early hours of the morning waste bins in the small road behind the hotel, were set on fire by person(s) unknown. We were sleeping at the rear when we were aware of strong toxic fumes. We discovered the fires, one of which was almost below our first floor window. The other fire however some 15/20 metres away was more serious and had ignited a gas supply. On attempted to leave the hotel we found that the door from the stairs to the front of the hotel were locked and we had to leave via the back door very close to the fire.At no time did the fire alarms go off although the smoke and fumes were very strong. In the proceeding fire 2 cars parked in the street were totally burnt out.I feel that you should not be advertising these premises until they sort out their fire safety procedures.Had the gas consumer unit been at the scene of the bin nearer to the hotel the outcome could easily have been very different.
Excellent location - 5 to 10 minutes walk from railway station, 10 minutes walk from sea. Breakfast was good, too. Also, we had a train to catch early in the morning on the checkout day, so had no time for breakfast, and the receptionist gave us croissants to-go, which was very nice of her.
It's strictly prohibited to eat anything in your room, you can't even have a cup of tea or coffee in your room. There's a also lack of electric sockets. Keep that in mind if you need to recharge multiple devices.
reception closed for 4 hours in afternoon. Had to wait 2 hours to book in.
Nice basic hotel in the city, friendly owners.
They don't have a bar or any possibility to buy any drinks and they are also strict about bringing drinks from nearby shops.
Close to the city center
Staff do not friendly.
- NO CURTAINS AND NO INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO USE (EXTERNAL) SHUTTER. JUST AS WELL HAD TWO TOWELS TO PUT UP AT THE WINDOW - REPEATED INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO EAT IN ROOM AND WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU DISOBEYED. WALL BEHIND RECEPTION PLASTERED IN THESE NOTICES WHICH ARE THEN REPRODUCED ON THE ROOM DOOR AND FILE OF USEFUL INFORMATON - GENERAL ATMOSPHERE VERY DATED AND NOT WELCOMING
The bed was comfy and the room was spacious.
It's a little soulless.
Despite being a non-smoking hotel, our room had a lingering stale smell of cigarettes. The decor dated back to the 1970s with ill fitting floor tiles. The furniture, what there was of it, was more in keeping with a hostel for the homeless than a hotel. A truly awful place. Avoid it!
OK to stay for just one night if looking for something cheap.
Room was on 3rd Floor, very steep stairs and no lift. The decor was very dated and old fashioned. The walk to the town was about 15 minutes but we did know about this when we booked.
Convenient to railway, ferry and old town. It was inexpensive.
It was advertised with free wifi both in the advertisement and in the office but this was not the case.
very near the port excellent breakfast clean service
room could be modernised
Location & price
Size of room and also unclear on how to obtain wifi
Staff friendly and very clean hotel
Breakfast was good.
Room shabby and dated. Expensive for what it was really. 2 Double Beds for a family - 1double and 2 singles would be more appropriate.
Lovely beds, big room, generous continental breakfast( 6 euros) opposite a small supermarket, also cafés and restaurant and good baguettes sandwiches shop near. Quiet. 20 mins walk with kids to centre ville.
No tea making facilities like in uk!
Basic rooms but everything you need
Staff were very short and sharp, wouldn't be flexible with check in
close to the train station
a bit far from the old town.shower space is too small. very inconvenient to share the toilet. In fact it can be built in the spacious room
