Although rooms were compact they were very clean. A quiet location, just of the main square, handy to restaurants, walking the sights of Avignon and shops. The air conditioner works really well so much so we had to open the window to let in warmer air.
close to the centre of every thing .....hotel clean and well run ...
Location, staff, cleanliness of the room.
I thought the breakfast was a bit pricey, although they did offer quality food.
The location was fabulous.
This is a very nice hotel and central to everything in Avignon. The room was nice, hot water went off but was fixed after 6 hours. Lovely bathroom with soaps, bath salts etc. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful.
Wifi was terrible. This may seem petty, but Not enough coffee was given for the coffee machine in the room. There was 2 of us and they gave us 3 pods each day! You'd think they'd give you 4! Other hotels at this price generally give complementary coffee anyway!
Hotel de l'Horloge is very comfortable and in an excellent location in the centre of Avignon. The air conditioning worked well and the staff were courteous and efficient---some were friendly, too. The furnishings and carpets were not tired as in some 'hotels of character'.
My room (404) was not well sound proofed and I could hear the Germans in the room next door talking, snoring and, worst of all, using the lavatory.
Everything! Very comfortable bed, varied and delicious breakfast, friendly accommodating staff, charming spot.
It was good value for the money and in a great location.
Lighting a little dim, smallish shower towels and a little noisy in hallways.
Rooms were sound proof and very comfortable. I also liked having a separate toilet.
We had a Privilege Double Room with a sitting area (2 arm chairs and a table)...lovely at first glance, but there was nowhere to put all of our clothes, shoes, bags, etc., only one cupboard which wasn't large enough. In the bathroom, there was a small cabinet under the sink with small drawers, but NO countertop. Every time we showered & dressed, we had to bring everything we needed and then take it out again. There was PLENTY of unused space in the bedroom (in the recessed areas below each window, as well as a recessed area with only a wall mirror) and in the bathrooom where shelves, cabinets, or hooks could have been put in to make life much easier.
Very central location but sound not a problem. Room comfortable and just big enough.
Leak in room left us with wet carpet outside bathroom and despite notifying reception it got wetter during our 5 day stay. Reception very small and busy so staff not very friendly. Only had one breakfast and it wasn't all that special.
Gruppy shower very small room.
el personal es poco amable
The location is wonderful, right in the heart of the city. The bed was comfortable, room quiet and we could open the windows for fresh air. That also allowed us to soak up the local atmosphere. Nice touches like slippers, lots of towels, nice toiletries etc.
Room very small. Bathroom shower recess was tiny so a large person would struggle to use it.
Location: fantastic -- couldn't be better. Very helpful staff. Comfortable. It's not cheap, but it's worth it for the location.
Breakfast was ok, but expected a little better for the price, but a calm restaurant to eat in.
The room overlooked the square was very comfy, very clean, had everything we wanted from it.
Very minor gripes, English T bags would be nice and a few English TV channels.
location & Comfort
Very good room although a bit smaller than we expected. Nice bath with everything that you might need. A perfect breakfast for Euro 18 only. But most of all we liked the location, of course. The buiding itself is a piece of art!
Noisy street and a very (!) small reception.
very central, stilish (forniture and style)
we booked for a couple with a kid but there was no additional bed. and no way to obtain it.
Location and comfort
Staff could have been more helpful
there was a lot of noise during the early morning , and the bathroom was little, with out a mirror for men
The bedding was nice.
The location on the main square makes it very noisy, especially at night. The carpets were stained and needed replacing. The entire building was somewhat shabby and sadly needed a makeover.
We enjoyed the entertainment and food at the festival.
Street noise very loud.
White linen. Staff very helpful.
Mould in bathroom, Very small shower cubicle, Shower curtain clung to body when showering. Room close to nightlife/street cleaning. Poor sleep. Very small room
Excellent location! Easy walk to the hotel from the train station and easy walk to the famous "pont d'Avignon" and the palace of the popes. The staff at reception was friendly and very responsive to problems or requests for information. I loved the breakfast, which had a wide variety of options. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the WiFi--despite my having to log in over and over again--worked well for my needs. I would happily stay in the Hotel de l'Horloge again if I am fortunate enough to get back to Avignon.
My room was in the building with the reception desk, and the wooden flooring upstairs was very noisy when anyone walked by or went into a room.
