Excellent location for touring, shopping and dining. In a special area of Paris that evokes a very European feeling, yet is not overwhelming to the non-French speaker. The hotel staff was especially helpful in suggestions and answering questions. The bath was typical but could easily be altered to be a bath/shower which would more easily accomodate those of us with a larger stature. |

We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend the location and hotel if you want to be somewhere less touristy - the Marais is fabulous. The Hotel was great, staff excellent and our room was spacious and comfortable. We only had one issue and that was the unavailability of coffee and tea making facilities (but maybe one had to ask, not sure) Also the Rue de la Bretonnerie can get quite noisy on a Friday night and would assume the same on a Saturday night as there are quite a few bars and restaurants so for the noise consious this might be an issue, if you want to leave your window open, if closed could not hear a thing. We felt safe in the area and would definitely stay here again - highly recommended. Merci! |

Although not the roomiest hotel, the Bretonnerie is roomy enough for those yomping round the city for a couple of days, and very comfortable. The rooms are well insulated too, so even though the hotel is in the heart of the bustling and lively Marais area, getting a good night's sleep is no problem. The location is superb - three mins from Hotel de Ville, two minutes from the Pompidou, ten mins or so to the Louvre and Notre Dame. |

Location and friendly reception.Don't expect large rooms except for Junior Suite. The area has a large gay population which was fine by us and made the area quite lively and interesting but if you are an old homophobic and want absolute peace and quiet this is not for you. Had to get junior Suite as all other rooms were taken and therefore paid more than I wanted to but this was not the hotels fault. |

The proprietors were pleasant and very helpful. Both Karen and Ludvine spoke English which was helpful for us. The location was convenient for walking to some museums, shopping, restaurants and transportation. They had a computer available for client's use in the lobby. We loved our well decorated room. |

The location is exellent for the Marais-The area aound the hotel is quiet and very interesting. The front desk staff is very helpful The hotel is a bit run down-the room was nice size but decorated in a Burlesque manner-very dark-not enough lighting. The bath did not have a useable shower-no shower curtain, When we were there there was construction right below our window that started at 8:00-nothing offered to compensate |

The locaton was great for visiting museums, churches, restaurants, groceries, parks and subway. Very intersting neighborhood for people watching and relaxing. Our room was was too small to move around with suitcases open. Otherwise it was a very interesting hotel and we enjoyed the experience. |

The staff and location are excellent. Our room was a junior suite and was very nice and quiet. The hotel is in serious need of new carpeting. Holes have been worn through the carpet in many areas. If you can look past this you will find a nice hotel in a great location in the Marais. The day staff was great. The young man at night was less helpful and admitted not knowing the area. |

Great location in the Marais district, walking distance to Centre Pompidou, Notre Dame and the Saint-Germain-district. Considering it is in the Marais, decent size room. It was a hot day so an airco would have been nice. But not necessary. |

the hotel is in an excellent location in the Marais area. Many interesting galleries & museums were within walking distance. My room overlooked a courtyard & was very peaceful. The reception staff were courteous & helpful. The breakfast was good but rather expensive. Some of the furnishings & carpets were rather worn & needed replacing. The room was very hot at night despite the fan in August. I would probably choose a hotel with air-conditioning if visiting Paris again at this time of year. |

The hotel was lovely, in a fantastic location right in the middle of the Marais. Legendary falafel houses and cute cafes were just around the corner. |

I liked the hotel for its old world charm and its central yet quiet location in Le Marais district of Paris with good communicatons on foot and by nearby public transport incl. Metro. The old building has been crammed with most of the modern conveniences and facilities of the present day hotel. The staff is multilingual and always helpful, friendly and there is a personal touch in their approach. The cleaning is done in a discreet yet efficient manner. Not really, but because of the small size of the building for its current purpose there is a certain shortage space. At the same time this could be experienced as part of its charm. |

It was quaint and charming, yet had a first class bathrooms. Loved the whole old world feel of the place. Great Location. Rooms do not have air conditioning, but it was very cool while we were there and fans were provided for the rooms. |
