Set in the very centre of Châlons-en-Champagne, this 2-star hotel is just 200 metres from the Jards Gardens. You can relax in The Red Fish bar and sample a glass of champagne or a home-made cocktail.
Score from 207 reviews Good
Set in the centre of Châlons-en-Champagne, the contemporary Hôtel Le Renard has a restaurant that serves French cuisine and regional wines. The Museum of Fine Arts is only 280 metres away.
Score from 215 reviews Very good
The lady at reception was very helpful to my needs, and was very informed about the town's history. She had useful tips about things to do in Chalons. I could park my bicycle in the rear private courtyard. The toilet was communal, next to my room, and very clean. The room was spacious and i particularly liked the large open-plan cupboard. Cleanliness was to a high standard. A news magazine of the region was in the room. A quiet hotel. Good value for money.
comfortable room close to town
Good value 3-bedded room offered
The host is quite helpful. Good one for short stay. All basic amnities there, clean, wifi is very good, simple breakfast. Good vaue for money.
A bit old building inside but thats ok if you just stay for short durations.
Pleasant staff, helpful, nice simple room - everything in room worked well, generous breakfast. Quiet location.
Nowhere near the centre as advertised.
Friendly personnel, always ready to respond to questions and help out when needed. Rooms may look outdated, but they are clean rooms and come with daily maid service. Quiet neighbourhood, you can sleep with windows open. Good and sufficient breakfast for a correct price. 2 pieces of bread, a croissant, cheese, fair choice of yogurt, marmelade, cereals, and drinks. Close to the highlights of Chalons-en-Champagne, approx 10 minute walk to the City Hall. If budget is tight, then this is a very recommended place to explore the Champagne region. 45-50 minutes drive to either Reims or Epernay.
It was overall good. Maybe a good investment would be airconditioned rooms, but this is a typical French hotel, and lack of airco is also part of its charm. We had 37 degrees outside during the day, and with windows open during the night we had no heat problems. In-room bathrooms are not completely walled up, but if that bothers you, you can always go to the bathroom on the hallway.

No breakfast pre 8am at weekends - we had to leave at 7.45am!
Easy access from autoroute and good location
Good place to stay
Nothing nice an cheap
Small city centre hotel from a bygone era. Very helpful lady on front desk. Good central location not far from range of good eating options - all fully gone through along with map from the patronne. Easy on street parking directly outside. Ideal and convenient stop over point on our way back up north.
Rooms rather dated and tired looking but nonetheless perfectly comfortable. 'Ensuite' facility was basically a partitioned off area in one corner of the room with surrounding walls extending to a height of around 8 foot
Probably the friendliest hotel manager I have ever met. She went out of her way to deliver a level of customer service that even North Americans would be happy with.
Wifi coverage in the rooms is a bit patchy.
Cleanliness, comfortable, good restaurant about 10 minutes walk ,easy access from and back to motorway.
Nothing to say
Bathroom very small
very accessible, good mattress, interesting old house and great value for money overall
noise insulation wasn't great, particularly regarding the plumbing - so don't forget the ear plugs
Good breakfast, friendly staff, good value, quiet location on edge of town centre
Thin walls and doors, en suite facilities crammed into old room layout
The hotel and the the lovely lady on reception had charm. A ten minute walk from the town centre made exploring and eating out very easy.
I had previously stayed in Châlons-en-champagne and was pleased that it was so close to the centre.
Unfortunately the wifi dropped out a lot. But I was on holiday so it didn't matter too much.
Cheap stopover if traveling to the alps easy to find fine for one night
small room, small TV, small beds!
Centrally located ideal stop over with helpful and friendly English speaking receptionist (owner?). For the price it is very good
Easy parking...restaurants within close reach...typically French...good value.
